Last year I discovered Mr. Pawn Shop on Linden Avenue, and I will never use a different one from now on. From the owner to the Counter Staff and the Security guy- they're all Top Notch. I never feel as if I'm being "looked down" upon. They greet me by name, and always offer fair valuation on items I pawn. It's a really nice shop, with all sorts of quality items for sale as well. They're very reasonable with their rates, compared to other shops, and if you need more time to repay, they are glad to accommodate. As long as you pay your interest and storage charges, your pawned items will stay safe in their massive warehouse until you're ready to redeem them. They also purchase items. I'm a musician, and I trust them with my beloved instruments. I highly recommend Mr. Pawn Shop if you need some cash to get you through lean times, without worrying your stuff will get damaged or sold.

I went in to this pawn shop planning to purchase a guitar if they had one I liked. I was greeted by…read morean older gentleman who I suspect was the owner and he asked if I needed any help. I told him I was just looking at his guitars. He hovered around and I asked him if he plays guitar. His response was a short, "yeah". Still no big deal, but not friendly. I spotted a nicely priced, and beautiful guitar so, I asked to see it. He obliged and got it down for me. I then was looking for a place to sit to play it a little (I pretty much already decided to buy it, but I usually never buy a guitar without playing it first). He then said, "Oh, planning on staying a while?". I just wanted to play it a bit before buying. I was so turned off by his customer service. I seriously felt like he was treating me like a criminal. I decided not to buy it and am really upset. It was beautiful. I refuse to give my money to someone so ungrateful for a paying customer. No one on this street in any of these shops treated me like this. He was the only one. I'm really bummed out because, I wanted to buy it and was forced to walk away so as not to give him any business. He evidently didn't need the money. Must be nice.
