Noah was a bundle of chaos, and Saint was well-behaved but needed some fine-tuning. After the training, they're both so much more responsive, well-behaved, and just easier to handle--especially with our 1-year-old baby around. Their confidence and obedience skyrocketed, and we've never felt closer to them. Plus, we learned how to keep up the training at home, which was super helpful! Never thought I'd be able to walk these big boys off leash and have them heel at my side. Bella and Fernando were professional, patient, and clearly love what they do. They kept us in the loop and gave us the tools we needed for success. If you're considering training, DO IT--you won't regret it!

My German Shorthaired Pointer was known to jump fences and couldn't be trusted off leash. After a board and train with Fernando, my dog made incredible improvements. she now walks with me in town and is great on and off leash. I couldn't have imagined a better outcome! I've boarded my dog easily over a dozen times, and they make pick up & drop off so easy. Whether it's an overnight stay or two weeks, I feel comfortable knowing my dog is safe with Guiding Pets & Parents. Traveling without my dog can be so tough, but it makes me feel better when she's SO excited to see Fernando & Bella, sometimes she doesn't even look back at me. I definitely recommend!

When I first contacted Roy to discuss training for my dog, Finn, I was impressed with the knowledge…read morehe possessed, and the questions that he asked. I was immediately comfortable and confident that I had reached the right person . Step 1: He sent over a very detailed questionnaire, so he would know my dog before he met him. I did the 10 week at my home, which was most convenient for me. I would like to note that I travel and have a crazy schedule so we had to reschedule many times. I thank Roy for accommodating professional life. Step 2: our first in person visit Roy met Finn, my extremely rambunctious Australian shepherd/Shetland sheepdog, who loves to run out the front door and dash out into the desert, or bolt past me going down the stairs inside my house, almost sending me down the stairs . Little did I know training was as much for me, as it was for my dog. I learned so much about my dog and about me. Lots of things I thought were cute I have found are not so endearing I am still amazed. With every visit, I gained more insight and knowledge from Roy. Started out just leaving my house and working up and down my own Street. Step 3: moving from working in our neighborhood down to walking around at the park in the downtown area. Teaching Finn to sit at the corners before crossing, and not to chase after birds or other dogs. He no longer yanks on his leash. I am very grateful for the experience. I want to thank Roy from the bottom of my heart. Our lives have changed and are so much different, having a dog properly trained. Finn still has a long way to go, but I am willing to make the effort with the information Roy has given me to succeed. I plan on stopping in to his drop in classes in Kingman on Saturdays, because Finn's training will never be over, he is sly lol and he likes to get one up on me anytime he thinks I'm not paying attention. After all he is a smart dog! Roy travelled all the way from Kingman to Needles for our training, and I know he goes to Lake Havasu City and Bullhead and God knows where else If you are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced trainer, Roy is your guy . Veterinary Urgent Care Of The Desert

Definitely one of the hardest reviews I've ever had to write but also an easy 5 stars to this…read moreurgent care and their staff. Yes, the building is nice, modern and clean but what really makes this place amazing is the staff that work here. I'll forever be grateful for the support and compassion they showed me during one of my hardest moments in life. Rewind: I'm actually not a local and was traveling here from out of town. I was staying in the desert for a few weeks so I brought my dog and cat down with me. In the most stressful of scenarios (traveling and being on vacation) my 13-year old cat fell ill almost immediately after we got into town. After a few days of her seeming not like herself and not eating, I brought her here to the urgent care. A few hundred dollars later and testing it was confirmed that my little one was dying (This wasn't a complete shock as she had been diagnosed with kidney disease a year before with a prognosis of only a few weeks to months to live.) You just never expect to be away from home when something like this happens.... The biggest blessing was that the doctor and techs encouraged me that I could take her home to have a couple more days to process the decision of putting her down/to see if there could be any improvements (even though it wasn't likely.) Having those extra couple days to say goodbye made the process so much more bearable and assured me that I wasn't making a rash decision... when you see your pet declining you know when it's time. I was just really grateful for how the team was so compassionate and flexible with me as I made this decision. While they were all professional, they felt like friends when I needed them most. Bringing my baby back to be euthanized on a holiday weekend was traumatic, but the team handled everything with grace and compassion. They have a special room where you get to say goodbye to your baby and it is very tranquil and lovely overall when dealing with such a tragedy. At the very minimum you would hope for a safe space when enduring something so difficult and they definitely created that....Again the team couldn't have been lovelier. They see these kinds of things every day, but they made me feel like I mattered. The whole process was expensive, but at the end of the day I would do anything for my animals so it just comes with the territory. Looking back, it was worth every penny to make an informed and educated decision and with how well everything was handled from start to finish that I'm so grateful for this team. I hope you find yourself here under less painful circumstances, but I am here to say that this is an amazing urgent care and the staff are A+.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience because I left feeling…read morefrustrated, confused, and unheard. I brought my French Bulldog, Otis, to urgent care because he had been experiencing decreased activity, weakness, and changes in behavior that were concerning to me. Upon arrival, he was panting heavily. As a French Bulldog owner, I understand that panting can be alarming, but Otis frequently becomes worked up in the car, during travel, and in unfamiliar environments, especially during extreme heat. Before my pet's history was fully discussed or I was even checked in, staff immediately focused on the panting and began discussing sedation and emergency concerns. I was initially told about a medication costing approximately $600. Later, the veterinarian explained a different medication was needed so he could examine Otis, and I agreed to those charges. After Otis was taken to the treatment area, I waited for updates. Instead of receiving information about his condition, I was approached multiple times regarding financing options and credit applications. At that point, I still had not received any explanation of what the veterinarian had found, what his physical examination showed, or what the next steps would be. Eventually I was presented with an estimate of approximately $2,000. When I asked what had been found on examination and whether the veterinarian would discuss his assessment with me, I was told that nothing could be determined without additional laboratory work and X-rays. I specifically asked if the veterinarian would return to explain his clinical impressions or provide any guidance regarding the symptoms that brought me in, and I was told no. What disappointed me most was not the estimate itself. Veterinary medicine is expensive, and diagnostic testing has value. My concern is that I left without any meaningful discussion of the problem I brought Otis in for. The visit became entirely focused on diagnostics and financing before I ever received an explanation of what the veterinarian thought might be going on. As a pet owner, I understand that a diagnosis cannot always be made without testing. However, I believe clients deserve clear communication, a discussion of examination findings, and an opportunity to understand the veterinarian's concerns before being asked to make major financial decisions. I left feeling like the primary focus was obtaining approval for diagnostics rather than helping me understand my dog's condition. After spending nearly $300, I still did not have answers regarding the symptoms that prompted the visit in the first place. I hope this feedback helps improve communication with future clients, particularly those who are scared, trying to do the right thing for their pets, and working within real financial limitations.

After speaking with Violete, I quickly scheduled a drop-off for my baby, Mocha. I won't lie--leaving her there was heartbreaking for me! Two weeks later, I picked up a completely transformed dog. Mocha was so much calmer, better behaved, and clearly had learned so much. Honestly, I almost felt just as heartbroken taking her away from Violete's ranch because it was obvious she had such a great time there! I'm incredibly grateful for the care, attention, and results Violete provided. Highly recommend!

That all changed on Friday, September 18th. We dropped Pepper off in the morning and thought we would have another great experience, but when we picked him up later that afternoon he was a bit more energetic than usual but we thought nothing of it since he still has puppy energy. However, when we got home he was still frantic and was trying to rub his eye on the sofa. We took a closer look and were horrified to see his eye swollen and red and clearly inflamed. It was so bad that we ended up over at Marqueen emergency vet care where he was diagnosed with a Corneal Ulcer... a blister on his eyeball! Apparently, the groomer (Rick) at Colonies Pet Groomers had burned our beloved Pepper's eyeball (see picture). We ended up with two more vet appointments and a week of eye drops and antibiotics. By the grace of god his eye healed and he appears to be back to his old self. When Colonies Pet Groomers were contacted, the on site staff referred me to Grace who relayed our situation to Rulana (one of the owners). Rulana never spoke with me nor apologized for nearly blinding our dog in one eye. They quietly refunded the grooming fees but refused to take responsibility for the ensuing vet bills. In short, don't go here. Ever.
