There's a big gazebo you could post up in with a big group of friends or coworkers. There's a large stage, and from time to time festivals and shows are hosted in Smith Park. There are water fountains in the park. At night, the park can get a bit sketchy but most of Downtown is empty at night anyway which is a bummer. During the day, this really is a lovely place to meet up with friends and share a picnic or just sit and enjoy the sunshine. I only wish there was bike parking inside the park!

There's a loop walking trail that's very nice and paved. If you come when the azaleas are in full bloom in March, it is so beautiful. Pink, white, light pink of azaleas all throughout the park. Seeing the large pond with the ducks is pure tranquility. It's so nice to relax while watching nature. There's a boardwalk that you can walk on. Clean restrooms on site under a pavilion. Huge parking lot too on both sides. I am telling you I was so amazed that a park like this exists here. I'd normally find a ton of parks like this in Houston. I'm glad the City of Flowood built this for the community. Amazing. I brought my boyfriend here and he loved it too! I didn't map out how many miles you can accumulate by walking the trail the first time, but I think that if you walk multiple times on the trail you can max out on 10k steps. Come check it out!
