Moss Wright Park may be one of my favorite parks in the Nashville Metro area! Tucked away north of…read morethe city in Goodlettsville, Moss Wright Park has all the quintessential offerings of a city park plus a few extras! The park itself is huge covering close to 150 acres, and features multiple sports complexes for different sports including baseball, football, soccer and even volleyball! In addition there is a paved walking trail that stretches over 3 miles from entry to exit, and gets even longer if you walk the parking lots that connect the two! The walking path is one of my favorites as it is fairly scenic for a park walking path with portions covered, shrouded in trees and alongside the creek, while the other part is open-air surrounding the soccer fields and dog park, but also still next to the creek. There are also gazebos, benches, picnic tables and playgrounds scattered throughout. The above are things that you naturally find at local parks, but a bit upgraded I would say...and in addition Moss Wright has a fairly newly constructed outdoor gym spot to help with a quick circuit workout. Lastly, this park is full of history from the Bowen House to Mansker's Station plus this park is location to the Goodlettsville Welcome/Visitors Center. Parking is plentiful. No matter which entrance you come in through or what area of the park you are after, parking is available. The park and all the facilities including the restrooms are very well kept from a cleanliness and condition standpoint. Overall, Moss Wright Park is a favorite of mine...funny enough, I am headed there to get a few miles in after submitting this review!

The details: Several rooms had original furniture and original windows. Other pieces were time-period specific and a good match to the original pieces. It was purchased by Nashville Parks and Recreation, who opened a park on the property in 2013. The land was developed into Veterans Park, which is managed by the Veterans Memorial Park of Old Hickory nonprofit group that works to specifically honor veterans from the 37138 zip code. The organization has ceremonies on every Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Itself, it is a small plot of land, at only less than half an acre. It has a gazebo, and many plaques commemorating various sets of Old Hickory neighborhood veterans from different wars. There's a lot of charm parked into this pocket park, and it will pull a patriotic string on your heart.

The bridge connects Two Rivers Park to the Nashville Greenway, and offers gorgeous views of the Cumberland River no matter the season. The bridge also provides a great backdrop for photo ops of all kinds. Every time I am on the bridge, there is some sort of photo shoot going on whether it be amateur or professional, and I bet the photos turn out amazing! Getting to the bridge can seem tricky, but best bet is Two Rivers Park, which leads you right to the bridge from their main lot just off of Briley Parkway. It's a landmark of the start and end of all my walks from Two Rivers onto the Greenway, and I enjoy crossing it any chance I get!

It was hard for the youngest kiddo to remain behind the line while inside the house, but we managed to get through it without causing too much trouble! :) The older lady guide downstairs was very strict, and the young one upstairs was so chill. We enjoyed the lush garden outside in the backyard; that's also where the President was buried. The video introduction at the museum when you first enter was very interesting, and good preview of his life and legacy. Stopped by the gift shop to get some souvenirs and toys for the kids. Everyone walked away happy!

In the back they were playing a Dukes of Hazzard marathon and in the middle, they had video of cast members reminiscing the show. They went through a lot of cars to film it!
