We stopped by on a Sunday morning in early October, and we were absolutely SHOCKED at the amount of people here! This is definitely the spot for families with young kids - and even though we don't fall into the category, we still had a pretty fun visit! We brought our dog with us (because we called ahead and they are dog-friendly!) but if we would have known how crowded it would be, we certainly would have left him at home since he gets anxious around lots of people. Everyone we interacted with that worked there was friendly! They seemed well-staffed for how busy they were - and I definitely appreciated the extra parking attendants. We opted to pick pumpkins ourselves, which included a hayride. This took us through much of the farm, which was beautiful and well kept! They even had fun facts on little signs scattered along the route. The best part of the visit was the actual pumpkin picking. They provide you with garden shears, and you physically get to remove your pumpkin from the vine. We had a lot of fun roaming around in search of the best gourd available - and I can't say I've ever had a pumpkin experience quite like this one. We would have ordered some food from the snack shack, but long lines led us to opt for some kettle corn to-go from a different vendor. No problems there - I'm always happy when there's kettle corn involved. All in all, we had a pretty good time, and I would consider visiting again if my little niece and nephew were in town!

After showing our ticket, we were directed to the play area where they had a mini petting zoo of some cows and goats, a corn launcher, a corn pit, huge slides and a field of pumpkins to choose from. I was lucky enough to take my 3 1/2 year old nephew and by the time we left, we were WORN OUT! They sent a gator out to shuttle us and our pumpkins back to the parking area and we were glad to plop after the day's adventure. We will definitely be returning before the end of the season!

Many of the extra exhibits around the ark are extra money of course. The little zoo was nice. The inside was loaded w/ things to see. If you read it all it would take all day. The photo op at the beginning comes out to about $35. Also, many of the prices in the gift shop was very high. One aspect I thought was kind of odd was the unusual number of dinosaurs displayed in the ark. You would think there were more dinosaurs back then then most of the animals we are familiar with. Maybe it's just a way to attract the kids attention. It would be cool if they had a time-lapse video of the construction, and maybe I missed it. The buffet was definitely worth hitting up. All the food was actually good. I had no complaints and the staff kept most things very fresh. There was plenty of options and many drinks to choose from as well. The desserts were all tasty as well. I'd been hearing about the Ark Encounter from friends for years, so we finally made the trip over the Fourth of July weekend. Ideally you can spend a half a day here... My pro tip: get there early, especially on weekends. There are huge crowds and while there's plenty of parking, it's $15 fee and you'll take a shuttle to the Ark. If you don't want a long walk in the full sun or long shuttle lines, arrive early or wait until a couple of hours before closing. Inside the venue there are plenty of clean bathrooms on every level. Be prepared to do a lot of reading and exploring. It's fascinating to see how they explain everything from food storage and waste to daily life aboard the Ark, along with exhibits covering the Ice Age and biblical history like Adam and Eve. I'd recommend this more for adults or older kids. Younger children might lose interest quick since many of the exhibits are reading based. We visited during a heat wave, so we skipped the zoo, restaurants, and zip lines outside. My only downside is that admission is a little pricey, especially since those attractions aren't included with the ticket but the park is well kept, so clean. The staff were amazing, super friendly and very knowledgeable.

As I drove down the driveway toward the tasting room, I took in all of the gardens and the grapes that were growing. When I got there I walked along a path that was lined with greenery and flowers. When I got inside, I was greeted by the owner Tony. Tony was lovely and so helpful, he explained the different wines, and they were clearly marked for sweetness level or for how dry they were on the sheet where you chose your samples. I did choose four samples to try, and I really liked one of them. I am more of a sweet wine gal, and I have been trying to branch out a little bit, but I'm just not there yet. And talking to Tony I found out that his son is also in the wine business and he is in the wine business in California. Tony also sources some of his grapes from California. I also found out that he has three Airbnb's on this property one is over the tasting room and then two are at the front of the property. It was so beautiful there and I ended up bringing a couple of bottles of wine home. I also ate my lunch there, but they do not have a food license so I picked some local cheese that they had in a refrigerator and some summer sausage from a sausage maker in Cincinnati and he handed me a knife and cutting board so I made my own charcuterie and it worked out perfectly. There were so many lovely places to sit outside and have my lunch but it was about 90° and not much breeze so I ended up staying in. If I am ever in this part of Kentucky again, I will stop for another late lunch and wine tasting! Kudos to Tony he did a wonderful job.
