I had to do a tear out of my laundry room after this company had remodeled it, and I found subpar r11 insulation in the exterior wall behind my washer. It's only meant to be used as soundproofing materials. Exterior wall insulation is not supposed to be less than r13 or r15. No wonder my pipes freeze each winter. Besides that, mdf trim in the bathroom and laundry along with cheap flooring have caused need for major work and mold remediation. This is only some of the headache I am dealing with in order to even function in my home that was supposedly gutted to the studs and then remodeled by a contracting company that should know what they are doing. I wrote this before, but google removed it for some stupid reason. Edit in reply : You like saying this... "buy a better home" and "had to keep it within profitability". It gives me the impression that you're paying premium prices for low quality workmanship... it was appreciated that your electrician came back to fix what he messed up on without extra charge; but overall, it's a shoddy excuse. The insulation failed to meet code, and that's nothing any inspector I hired would have seen. That's not me having "high standards" that's just basic expectations. Don't worry, though, I will never buy another house that you've worked on. And you keep having this removed somehow. Either make it right, or give it up.
