From our very first conversations, PJ was professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about bringing our vision to life. You could tell right away this wasn't just another event for her, she truly puts her heart into what she does. The setup was stunning. We had a beautiful bar, a fun and interactive photo booth station, a gorgeous charcuterie cart, AND even a golf simulator--which was a massive hit with our guests! It really felt like a one-stop shop for everything we could've possibly wanted, and then some. We went ALL OUT for this retirement celebration, and I'm so grateful we chose PJ and her team. Every detail was handled flawlessly, and it allowed us to actually enjoy the night without stress. I'm especially thankful my friend recommended her to me, best decision ever! Whether you're military or not, if you're looking for exceptional, top-notch service, you absolutely need to book PJ and her incredible team. We will 100% be using them again for future events (we love to party, so this won't be the last time ). Thank you again, PJ, Cyana , and your entire amazing team--you made this night unforgettable! Brandon and Kellie were an amazing team to work with. The process to start our musical inspiration…read morewith them was so easy - they have some great questionnaires to help get you thinking about all the musical moments, from the ceremony to the cake cutting. We said the vibe was "Sunday morning, making pancakes, and singing into your spatula", and they delivered. The entire reception we kept getting people complementing the music so much. They LOVED the playlists. And while I was a little particular in setting up several playlists, Brandon used them as inspiration which was perfect! Two special things I want to acknowledge: 1) having plenty of sound for the ceremony. Beforehand, I was most looking forward to hearing the song the bridesmaids would walk down the aisle to (Closer to Fine), and I knew that would be "it". I could just imagine myself dancing while waiting my turn, and low and behold - someone caught a video of me doing exactly that! The Cantor was miced, everyone heard everything clear as a bell, and even the custom recording I had made sounded beautiful outdoors. 2) Say "yes" even if you think the party has died down. Brandon and Kellie surprised us with a bubble dance, and while everything had calmed down, I almost said we didn't need to do it. I'm SO glad we said yes instead, some of the best photos and moments are from that last dance. It also gave everyone one last moment to see us and say goodbye before we left. Brandon and Kellie obviously know what they're doing. They are LGBTQ+ friendly, front-line worker friendly, and just SO friendly! Book them - ASAP!

She caught contract errors, kept us on task for decisions, provided guidance, and handled mishaps with vendors (like lining up a backup photographer 2 days before the wedding when we thought ours was going to flake), orchestrated a full flip of the ballroom. The whole team was professional. Kellie's assistant almost had to save the day when our seating chart printed 4"x6".... she was like, "girl I got you, i have a windows frame in my car." Completely kept my wife from having a meltdown while getting ready. I wish I could say more about this team. They're well worth every penny, I'll just say that. Book them now, swear you will not regret it.

We attended the Noon years eve event at the children's museum today. A Mile of Smiles was there…read moredoing glitter tattoos and balloon animals, swords etc. we stood in line for the tattoos first and then joined the very long line for balloons. The 2 doing the tattoos were absolutely wonderful! They're excellent with kids and so patient. We waited for over an hour in line for balloons and my kids were especially excited because the balloons they saw were better than others they've gotten elsewhere. I honestly couldn't believe they had such great balloons at a free event! She is very talented. My 4yo was especially excited and did an excellent job waiting in line. Gold is his favorite color and he couldn't believe she had golden balloons! When it came his turn she asked what he wanted but didn't give him the chance to respond (less than a second) before saying "alright Mom, what does he want?" I deferred back to him so he could respond. He did. She didn't fill his balloon up all the way and just decided to let it go. (I get it... it's fine, it's a free balloon) it was already shorter than the others she had made but he's a little guy so I encouraged him by saying "it's just your size!" to try and help out. He wasn't convinced. Then she proceeded to make him the same sword he's always gotten other places. He was devastated. She just sloughed it off and said she had to move along so she's making the faster swords. Fine. I get that. I'll talk to my son. Again, he's 4, stood in line very well for about an hour and was just crushed. We talked him through it. He recovered but then saw that the kid just behind him got the better sword he had stood in line for. I was at a loss for words. If that's all it was, I would not be writing this review. I would have just parented him through it and moved on. However, as we were standing there waiting for the balloons of my other kids to be made she started laughing at all the people in line. She said that if the line is too long when it's time for her to go, she just goes to the bathroom and doesn't come back. She kept laughing and saying stuff like "they're in a long line, they should know better." And on and on. I can talk to my kid and I can help him through his disappointment but her attitude makes it really hard to explain to my kid why. I took a picture of her information because I was so impressed with her work in the beginning but with the attitude she had around kids, it left me with enough of a bad taste in my mouth to share with others. I'm not sure what happened at the end, we weren't there for it. They were free balloons and were thankful for them but with the way she laughed and carried on, I decided to not keep her in mind for any future events we may have.

Note this wasn't my wedding, this is simply my point-of-view as an attendee at this summer outdoor event. Elkington's grounds include a scenic area overlooking a lake and large outdoor spaces for tents. One of the most memorable things about Elkington was how delicious the food was. I am so conditioned that all wedding food is absolutely terrible, but the buffet here was outstanding. Between the fresh seafood, five star crab cakes and nice selection, everyone was happy and full with dinner. Finding a venue with food this good is a rarity. Honestly, I can't stop thinking about the fact that there's no bathrooms here. Despite the physical wedding being so elegant and southern, they ended up renting "luxury" bathroom trailers. But it was never truly a comfortable situation. As for the couple, they were super happy with everything. I could see the staff working hard and having a big dedication to the couple and their needs. The bartending staff was outstanding and truly knew how to make a drink the right way. We had a nice night filled with many memories!

While we have been to Bruton Parish church many times, (it's my favorite thing on DOG Street by…read morefar) currently the church is closed for tourist visitation due to the installation of their new organ. With that in mind I figured I would finally make the big one block walk down to the gift shop to see what they've got shakin'. The scene would best be described as part hospital gift shop meets a Hallmark store for the 70 and over crowd. So many little trinkets and nick-knacks everywhere. Also noteworthy is that while the shop has an excellent mission, the prices here are very steep. Deals you will not find and some of the clothing that they're selling has never been seen in public since the Golden Girls was cancelled. Dorthy Zbornak would have had a field day in here. In the back of the building is a small chapel which is very respectfully laid out even if it was odd walking by tables of "discounted" Christmas things right by the entrance. I bought my obligatory Bruton Parish fridge magnet ($7!) and had a nice talk with the one volunteer at the register about the current organ project and a few rumored things happening in the near future. She was really a great ambassador for their brand and truly showed that this is a living-breathing-vibrant Episcopal church. I'm not really a retail person so I doubt I'll be back but if you are into trinkets or curiosities then this place might be for you and at the least it's worth the short trip away from the CW buildings on DOG Street.
