When they opened back up, they called and said my kids had to come in one by one & I was not allowed to come in. They explained that they would have suits & masks on & I said no way. My kids are not coming in alone, first, & especially when they can't identify the adults. There was no compromise. So, I said we would come back after the madness ended. Two years later, we went in for cleanings. I have never accepted fluoride & we only do x-rays at the minimum my insurance allows. This was nothing new, but this time Booker seemed offended & expressed his frustration to me. I said that was my wishes & we hadn't had an issue before, but he wanted to argue. I declined, finished the cleaning & left. 6 months later I went in & needed to get an old filling replaced. I had just had a doctor's appt where she told me to be careful what type of filling I get for medical reasons. When I expressed this to Booker & asked questions about what he uses he said he wanted my doctor's name because he was going to tell her she didn't know what she was talking about. I said that is very aggressive & he proceeded to tell me that I just need to let him do his job. He could not tell me what type of filling material he used or any health risks. He then started ranting about people who ask too many questions. I declined for him to do my work. His attitude & aggressive behavior is disturbing. He has an attitude like no one knows more than him, but he can't even tell you the materials he uses. I decided then I would not return. The next time my husband took my kids, the receptionist asked him if he was competent enough to make follow up appointments or if she should call me. Extremely sexist & just plan rude. My kids then did not return. My husband was the last holdout, until now. This week, he has an emergency. He was in a car accident & cracked a tooth. He called the office at 11 am to find out they had different hours for spring break... they closed at noon. However they didn't answer the phone at 11 am... he left a message to say he had an emergency. Nothing. No call back. He called again today & it says now that they are closed until Monday. He then received a message saying they wouldn't take care of him until Monday. Who closes their office for Spring Break? This business is so unprofessional. We're done.

    Dr. Booker has been my dentist for years. I have never had any issues with any of the work he has…read moredone in my mouth, and he is careful to make sure nothing hurts during procedures. The staff are also efficient and pleasant. I really like my hygienist, and the assistants are sweet too.

Spoke with office manager Kim Malone she advised she doesn't listen to all the calls in the office. And that she couldn't help the situation with her staff quoting me several different prices. She read the notes and saw that I called in several times confirmed the procedure. Did my due diligence. I'd advise going else where if you need to budget in a root canal. Inflation is in full effect here depending on which staff member picks up the phone. As we discussed on the phone earlier, the nature of your appointment changed after your consultation, which also affects the payment portion you would be responsible for. The consultation focused on developing a treatment plan You were presented different treatment options and those quotes for each option were accurate. We regret any misunderstanding. I asked for two options. Finalized my choice before I left this office to the cheap option. Obviously not worth their time. The called while I was working. Didn't get to the massage til after work 5pm. They canceled my appointment. So now I am left in pain trying to find another appointment. And they won't return my consultation fee that was supposed to be applied to the root canal. I would highly recommend getting everything in writing and paying for it as soon as they give you your first total that you to agree upon. I guess I like to know what I'm paying for.

I went to the Root Canal…read moreSpecialty Associates in Livonia and met with Dr. Racek and he was straightforward with me and let me know what my options or outcome could be. On June 24th, 2004 I had my appointment for a root canal and Dr. Racek reminded me about possible outcomes and also reassured me that the procedure wouldn't hurt and ya know what?!? He was right. He applied the gel that numbed the area for the needle and told me I'd feel a little poke but I felt nothing at all. The last 2 injections I felt a teeny bit but that's not even worth mentioning here. (Although as you can see, I did mention it here.) They let the anesthesia set in and soon Dr. Racek began his work. His calm and confidence rested easily on my mind, and he'd reassure me telling me things were going well. The 2 gals that assisted him showed perfection at their own jobs and they worked together supremely well. All 3 of them, really. I was told the procedure could last an hour to an hour and a half, but with the expertise and the perfectly scripted requirements of each of their positions, they were done in just over half an hour. I was in awe, dumbfounded and amazed at the end of it. Done so soon? Wow! Not to mention I was very happy, too. Back at home the anesthesia wore off after a bit and I had no pain at all. Who can recommend Dr. Racek at the Root Canal Specialty Associates in Livonia? *Raising my hand* I hollered "ME!" One more thing ... I don't think I properly thanked Dr. Racek before I left but I am very thankful for him and his abilities and this is my thank you to him right here Thank you!.
