The medical professional working with me, had a sharps container that did not have a lid on it and was very very full to the point of hazard. 2. The professional working with me, dropped a pen inside of the open sharps container that did not have a lid on it. She reached and grabbed the pen out of the sharps container and set it on a " sterile tray" that was holding all of the equipment and supplies for the procedure I was about to have done. 3. The professionals were giving allergy shots through a window that was between a treatment room and the waiting room. They frequently were leaving vials and syringes preloaded and unattended within reach of all people in the waiting room. 4. The professionals left their computers unattended with personal medical information breaking HIPAA. The computer screens did not have privacy screens on them and were left in view of people in the waiting room. 5. The medical professionals were asking medically sensitive questions inside of a patient room that led into the waiting room (previously stated open window leading to the waiting room), which is also in violation of HIPAA. 6. After they performed the allergen pricks, they would send you back to the waiting room -- not supervising you to see if you have an allergic reaction. This is extremely unsafe in the instance that someone does have a severe allergic reaction that is not caught in time.

She made me feel very welcomed and as if I was the most important person that she was going to see that day. Next I had the privilege of working with Quan. I cannot begin to express her customer centered approach to the testing modalities that she had to do with me. She was most patient, friendly, understanding, and was able to explain the process thoroughly and in a way that was not talking down to me but rather in a manner that I would be able to understand. I was most impressed with the care she displayed. Now to Dr. Katz. I do not think I have ever met a more compassionate doctor! He was extremely approachable, knowledgeable, patient, and truly demonstrated an invested interest in me as a patient. Not once did he look at his watch kept open body language and was able to answer questions. His office staff ran on time, clean, and practice universal precautions. I cannot recommend this practice enough, I wish I could gift 10 stars! Thank you Amy , Quan, and Dr. Katz!

I met with Dr. Katz and his team this morning to have allergy testing and to consult about whether or not I was a candidate for immunotherapy (allergy shots). I would HIGHLY recommend coming here if you are experiencing sinus issues. Dr. Katz was not only thorough but he listened intently, made eye contact throughout our conversation and explained every aspect of what they would be doing today with the allergy testing as well as explaining immunotherapy to me in a way that a patient can easily understand. He had absolutely superb bed side manner and was very easy going. He put me at ease with all my concerns and made excellent suggestions for me moving forward. His team was professional, patient and efficient. I know I will always be in good hands coming here!

The doctor recommended full allergy testing during the first appt on 2/1/21 to determine the source of the hives. We requested the cost of these allergy tests prior to them being performed and was told that their pre-certification dept verified with the insurance we would only be responsible for a $45.00 copay. One and a half months later after all the tests were performed and additional follow-up visits were also required from the burns on her back, she was given an envelope on her last visit 3/17 with a note from the billing dept "to give to patient". She was informed that she would not be able to come back again until the total amount owed was paid. That was $2,127.50 total for 4 visits. The pre-certification dept either didn't verify the benefits correctly or did not at all. The high cost was due to it processing towards the deductible and not a copay. We were not informed at any point of the escalating costs at each visit. The only response I received from their billing department is "this happens more than you think, we just put patients on a payment plan". This is not right that a provider can not admit they made an error or apologize, all while not even being transparent about the costs and passing their employee's error onto the patient responsibility. Total billed to the insurance company was $4052. Thank you for the unnecessary tests and cost associated with it. I paid the $45 copay for each visit as requested prior to the visit, and now I owe an additional $2,127.50. After all the tests and medicines, in the end, only Zyrtec knocked it out.

Which could potentially become life-threatening. I wanted to see one of Jacksonville's top-rated allergists, as listed on Google, to help identify the cause of these reactions. However, when I called to book an appointment, I was informed that the office does not accept any Medicaid-based insurance plans. Which I completely understood however I was then told that because I have Medicaid active--even though I also have a separate employer-based Florida Blue insurance plan that I planned to use--they still would not be able to see me. What stood out most was that I was never even asked why I needed the appointment or what symptoms I was experiencing. The conversation never reached that point because the focus was entirely on insurance coverage. It's disheartening that access to care can be denied so quickly, especially when someone may be dealing with potentially serious allergic reactions and is seeking answers to the cause. While I understand that each practice has the right to set its own insurance policies, I advised the scheduling coordinator to bring this matter to the attention of whoever oversees such decisions, as this can easily be viewed as profiling. I'm not saying that was their intent, but it's important to recognize how such policies may come across--especially when patients are turned away solely because they have Medicaid active, regardless of their own private insurance. This experience raises ethical concerns. Although I will be seeking care elsewhere, I'm sharing this to help others be aware of these restrictions before scheduling, and in hopes that the practice reconsiders policies that may unintentionally limit access to medically needed care for patients regardless of low income coverage or dual coverage.

I was told they couldn't see my child because I needed to "prove" who he was -- as if I was lying about being his parent. The way I was treated made me feel singled out and unwelcome. I can't help but feel that this happened because I am Black. No parent should ever be made to feel disbelieved or disrespected because of the color of their skin. This experience was hurtful, unprofessional, and unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others -- especially families of color -- to think twice before coming here. Everyone deserves to be treated with basic dignity and respect.
