No issues with wait time from registration to vitals. My son who is on the autism spectrum was seen in the clinic. I disclosed right away that he was on the spectrum. He had a fever and runny nose so swabs were taken for flu covid and strep. After waiting for 30 mins we were informed that his swabs might have been swapped with another patient (either mislabelled, mix up with the lab etc). It was difficult to take his swabs again with him being on the spectrum. Staff and the P.A. did apologize and ran the swabs quicker. P.A. was polite and answered all our concerns. I have been going to patient first and Whitemarsh for the past 10 years. My experiences have been excellent! Wait times were minimal, recommendations were on point, as staff was friendly, kind, and had a great sense of humor. I had a physical a few months ago and it was a great experience! I was in and out within an hour. I was able to get any referrals needed Without delay. One of the doctors at this location is my primary care physician, which is super convenient because the hours are from 8 AM to 8 PM and I don't have to schedule an appointment. The nurses were friendly and helpful and we had a good chat in the few minutes I was with her. The on duty Doctor was warm, helpful, and patient as she answered my personal questions. read more

Very positive experience at this patient first. My 13 year old was treated for strep. The service was superb from start to finish. Wait time was not too long and staff was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and kind. From the receptionist to vitals to the doctor. I love this Patient First more than my PCP! They deserve such a higher compared to what's posted. No matter where you go, you're going to have to wait- stop being impatient or go wait 12 hours down the street at Franklin square emergency room to be seen and treated. The check in is super simple and easy. The entire staff is ALWAYS so kind and helpful. I feel so much better after seeing Patient first and the flow of everything is outstanding. Sheena, was the practitioner who evaluated me and she helped me relax, she was funny, super educated and well knowledges, and figured out how to help me feel better. I'm really thankful I came here. I have never had a problem with Patient First on Belair Rd. Today was a disaster. Signed in and they said there were 2 people ahead of us. 4 people went back before we were called. The nurse that took vitals was very nice. Said Dr Felderline would be seeing you today but 1st we'll get an xray first. We asked for a copy of the xray. After 11/2 waiting the dr appears. He said what's the problem, I don't see anything on the xray. I would recommend a podiatrist. His bedside manner left a lot to be desired. On the way out I ask for the xray again and again had to wait. Total 2 hrs of our time for nothing. read more

This is a medical scam. I have been feeling unwell so came in to get a COVID test. I have now been here 2+ hours, the test was done in the first 20 mins. But the extortion here is that someone has to see you to get test results. Patient First, 3 years into COVID you have come up with some very strange policy. I have been tested through work and through other labs and not one place has this extortion policy in place. It is clear that you are not in this business for patient welfare rather just make money. Shame on you, I am regretting my decision to come here for a test, that takes 15 minutes and results should be sent to be me in hours. Horrible!!! read more

I went in on a Saturday afternoon, and needless to say, they were pretty busy. I guess the wait time was a little over an hour, but about what I would expect on a busy weekend afternoon. All of the nurses, and The X-Ray tech were very nice. The Doctor spent about 2 minutes with me. Never asked about my pain levels or suggested any treatment. Not even anything for the Excruciating pain in my Knee. Not that Tylenol or Advil were helping anyway, but I thought he might tell me SOME way to try to alleviate the pain. He just told me I need to see an orthopedist, gave me the number for one, a paper for light duty at work, and sent me on my way. I left there not knowing any more than I did, going in. I waited two hours just before closing. I was told I had to go to the hospital emergency room instead. They lied to me about their ability to treat my wound. Went to the emergency room and waited another 10 hours. I asked the doctor why this one was so special that I had to go to the emergency room, and he said there was nothing special about it. There was no reason they could not have treated me at patient first that he could see. I returned this morning to have them change the bandages on my injury, and they said they don't do that kind of work, and I need to go somewhere else. Since I'm not from the area, I asked where the closest place was, and they said they did not know. It turns out there's another urgent care kaiser Permanente facility 100 yards from their place. These people need a lot of retraining on customer service and common sense. Return take my advice go somewhere else. read more

Great company that has dominated the Urgent Care market throughout every community they are located. Recently they shuddered their hours reducing services to the very same communities they have dominated the market reducing services for those communities. I must admit I was a bit taken back walking up to the door as they closed and locked it in our face. I was a loyal customer and the providers we're actually good. I've been here quite a few times and I went here awhile ago and was absolutely horrified at the care I received. I had a fever, headache, chills, and body aches. The nurse who called me back kept yelling in my face, even after I very pointedly told her my head hurt. I was tested for flu and strep. While I waited, I heard one of the nurses yelling out my temperature to someone else, which is a HIPAA violation, however small. It makes me wonder what else they yell out about patients. Throughout the wait, I could also hear them laughing and talking loudly about their personal lives at the nurse's station. This is absolutely unacceptable. Patients are left in the lurch while nurses gossip like teenagers. The doctor obviously didn't look at my chart because she only spoke to my mom (who had driven me there and was there to help me) even though I am 23 (and anyway, even if she thought I was underage, I still look old enough to participate in my own medical care, I'm sure) and constantly interrupted me when I was answering questions that she asked. On another occasion I went to this location for what turned out to be a sprained wrist and elbow. The x-ray technician was crass and rude, yanking my arm into painful positions and ignoring me when I was crying and asking for her to stop. Then the doctor proceeded to tell me all the bones in my arm that WERE NOT broken. Like I'm glad she passed anatomy and all, but there's no reason to waste my time that way. UPDATE: I went to this location in late October for high fever, chills, body aches, and headache. Was tested for flu but not strep and told it was a virus. The doctor rushed through the diagnosis and all but told us to get out. Once again, the nurses behaved like teenagers at the nurses' station, which isn't helpful. People come to Patient First for urgent medical care, not to listen to a sorority. read more

My daughter was feeling very congested, dizzy and she had a couch and they turned her away for covid testing. My daughter struggle to drive Herself to the white marsh location and couldn't get a test. The receptionist April was very nasty towards her. I took my child to Belair road patients first around September last year and I would not recommend this facility to anyone.Saff doesn't care about patients the Dr. Did not care to hear the symptoms my child presented with. It's the weekend and was feeling horrible. I knew I couldn't wait to *maybe* get in to see a doctor on Monday. I stopped by Patient First and have never used these types of urgent care facilities before but this was super convenient. The waiting room was empty- good sign Technician who screened me was friendly and had his own little office - liked the privacy Nurse immediately called me back for vitals - nice Nurse called me back again immediately for urine test and then put me in my own room I did have to wait there for a good chunk of time but I have waited longer at a doctor's office with an appt. This was a walk in. At least I had my own room and bed to lie on. Not bad. The only thing that I might suggest is for the nurse to check on my once in awhile but since they saw me go to the bathroom a few times, they knew I was still alive. It's not like they're going to keep a ton of doctors on call. Doctor earned 5 stars - he took the time to explain things and gave his recommendations. He brought my prescription to me *what service!* and I didn't even have to stop at the pharmacy. Maybe it's because I'm active duty military so my Tricare Prime insurance covers it all...but still. People too often only give reviews when are unhappy, so I just saw that Patient First had some bad reviews and I wanted to say that I have had nothing but good experiences at this facility. Every staff member from those I spoke to on the phone, to those checking me in, bloodwork, vitals all the way through to the doctors have been great. I went for chest pain because I had a cough. Your chest hurts when you cough right? They ran an EKG and blood work like I was having a heart attack. An unnecessary test as per usual. But I thought, hey my insurance will cover it so why put up a fight? Turns out I had a sinus infection. But that's not the issue. My date of service was 8/19/22 and they billed my insurance 8/21/22. Well, I just got a text message (8/25/22) stating they were going to charge my card $825.00 on 9/8/22. WHAT?? So they were going to charge my card before insurance even had a chance to pick up the tab? Unreal. They shouldn't be allowed to do that! And this is not the first time they've done this. Every time I go I get a bill and every time I rip it up. Funny, I never get another bill after that. Um, I'll be going to Medstar or anywhere else for that matter from here on in! read more

I can only give two stars because this experience will vary greatly depending upon the doctor you see. The wait time was fair given the amount of people waiting. The staff is lovely- the woman who took my info and the man who took my vitals were kind, compassionate and caring. I can't say as much for the doctor, who not only mumbled incoherently but barely looked at me. In fact he seemed annoyed that I was there at all. Perhaps he was having a bad day, even so, I'll choose another location even though this is the closest one to my place of employment. Brought my son to this Patient First on 9/18/23 after he injured his ankle in gym class. The only good part about the entire visit was the wait was not that bad. They did x-rays as soon as he was taken back to a room. The PA came him once his X-rays were ready. The PA just looked at his ankle asked how he injured it and if it hurt. She then went and pulled the X-rays up and her exact words were "I'm not sure what I am looking at and we do not have a radiologist here today. They will be here tomorrow and review the images and call you." Fair enough they wrapped his ankle in a bandage put a split on him and gave him crutches. Patient First called almost immediately the next day but it was to find out how my son was doing. When I asked if the radiologist was in they told me no they will not be in today they should be in tomorrow (Wednesday). I ended up taking my son to his PCP who ordered stat X-rays which were read within 20 minutes. The X-ray showed a break in the growth plate. We were immediately sent to an orthopedic surgeon that same day and he was put in a cast for 6 weeks. I still have not heard from Patient First regarding his X-ray results! Do better Patient First this was absolutely unacceptable and very poor patient care! read more

I have been to numerous (different) Patient Firsts around the area. This was the first time at the Baltimore/White Marsh location. I signed myself in. Waited 15 minutes and no one had called me back to check in. (This is unusual for Patient First, in my experience). I then called another nearby Patient First location to inquire about the wait time. They told me they couldn't tell me the wait time but told me how many people were sitting in the lobby. I made the decision to go to that other location. I signed myself in and was called back to check-in within 5 minutes. I was getting my vitals within 10 minutes. I was in the room getting a procedure within 15 minutes. read more

The nurses and other staff that helped me were 4 star. The doctor I had was maybe a 0 star. I went after work and there were a few people in there already. I checked in and was seen by a person that checked me in within 10 minutes. I was called back almost immediately after my check in to be seen by the nurses. They were friendly and answered all of my questions. They put me in a room to be examined by a doctor. This wait was a bit longer. The doctor listened to me breath asked me a couple questions and left to write me a prescription. When he brought the prescription back I told him I did not want codeine because of side effects I've had in the past. He gave me the prescription anyway. He was very rushed and had his back turned to me like he was about to walk out when I was trying to ask him my last question. Now that I think about it, I never did hear back about those lab results, but I am better now anyway. No thanks to this doctor or that prescription he wrote me that I didn't get filled. read more

I was in the Catonsville site last night for poison ivy. The doctor prescribed steroids. The selection available to her was expensively packaged at $68.00. My insurance company refused the scrip and so I hand carried it out with me. I went to Walmart only to find the selection made available to Patient First physicians is not available in most pharmacies. I had to have the pharmacist phone Patient First to request they change this $68 prescription to the readily available $2 (for loose) or $10 selection of the same medication! I called the site last night and asked to speak with a manager. None was available and I was asked if I would speak with a nurse, I declined. In turn, I was put on the phone with a nurse who was insistent on hearing my complaint. Again, poorly handled. There is no reasonable explanation for Patient First to carry this inflated product. I did not suffer the long wait times that past reviews had experienced. Came in at 9:00 pm on a Monday, so it wasn't terribly busy. Was checked, put in the back seen and out the door within 35 minutes. The only thing that was weird was the doctor who made the comment "Why do you have an ear infection? I went to this location because I was really sick and it was nearby and John Hopkins is right next to it. When I arrived I was the 6th in line. I waited 20 minutes before I checked in. The lady who checked me in was very nice. But... she couldn't tell me what my copay would be which was weird. So she told me it could be $100, which is not right. But I will hear something from my insurance company or not. Just a tad confusing. Than after checking in waited another 10 minutes. The person who took my vitals was not a happy person. She didn't even tell me my if I had a fever or not. I had to ask. I waited in the room for the doctor for what seemed like hours. The doctor finally showed up and was like yup you have the flu and you need to rest and drink fluids. I can prescribe Tamiflu but if it costs more than $20 don't bother getting it since it only takes off 12 hours of the cycle. His visit was like 3 minutes top. I had to ask him if I could go to work and if it's contagious. I couldn't believe I wasted my whole morning to do something I could have stayed home and done minus the copay and headache. This was my first visit to Patient First. I stopped in at 4:00pm on a week day, was checked in, saw the Doctor, diagnosed, had my prescriptions in hand and out the door by 5:00pm. All that without an appointment and a three week wait to see a doctor. This was one of the most efficiently run operations that I have ever seen. The staff and Doctor were very pleasant and helpful. I've been here quite a few times lately and I am not a very sickly person. First time I came because my heart rate resting was 110 and up for at least a month and no known history of anxiety. Dr. Brian Bullis was so compassionate, knowledgeable and professional. He got me the tests I needed and made the appropriate referrals and i followed through with his recommendations and feel better. I can't rave about him enough he was AMAZING. Fast forward to about a month later I'm still having R sided headaches, sore throat on R side w/ white patch on my tonsil, pain behind my right eye, R ear pain, new onset of anxiety/depression (so and I can't go to work some days), decreased memory, difficulty with word finding, and one nostril is always blocked a bit. Now I don't normally get sick or have headaches and haven't had headaches for over 15 years. Dr. McCarll was so unprofessional, cocky and rude I left that office in tears. I asked for an MRI because he worked everything up to be "anxiety" and suggest I see a psychiatrist and neurologist however agrees to write my MRI order yet tells me he doesn't know if my insurance will cover it (the medical code he used would most likely not warrant one). He tells me I "bullied him" into writing an MRI. Wow, just wow. I've been having this pain since June only on R side and it's now October however i waited to schedule the MRI for fear my insurance wouldn't cover it because of what the Dr. said. I finally make the appointment and can't get approved because they CANCELED my MRI order of which apparently is standard if it's not done within 2-3 weeks which he did NOT disclose. I call back to get a new order and because I couldn't get an appointment with my neurologist he treats me as if I'm a child and says he wont write the order so I can get it done. Not to mention the Dr. I most recently saw recommended I see ENT and said there was fluid in my ear and looks inflamed yet it's "probably" allergies and antibiotics "won't do anything" so he tells me to take Claritin. As you can see two "Dr.'s" yet two TOTALLY DIFFERENT RECOMMENDATIONS for the same symptoms, and not to mention their cocky attitudes and lack of empathy! I had one great Dr in the many times I have been there. I will NOT be back. Take your copays elsewhere this place is the worst. read more

My husband came here for a company-required wellness screening, and had very little issue with the actual service - I think. I can't remember since it was 11 months ago! We are currently in a battle between Patient First and our insurance company, due to Patient First incompetent billing staff and refusal to fix their clerical errors. It's been going on for 9 months now and will unfortunately cost me $160 out of pocket.
