I've done my share of thrift store shopping in the area and this store has an excellent array of…read moreitems that are always clean and well displayed. there are areas separated very nicely with crystal, bedding, all clothing is hung nicely and never shoved in or wrinkled, the shoes are all matched and ready to be tried on, the furniture is in good condition and they even have an entirely separate room just for Christmas! Now, this comes with a bit of a higher price. The care they take on the items takes a lot of time and that demands more workers for more hours - so the price must be higher - and people need to understand that. It is nice going into a thrift store and not coming out feeling like you need to wash your hands after looking at the dishes - and I appreciate that because I often go from one store to another - so I'm willing to pay $1 more for something - but, I do understand that it's not possible for some. That being said, the workers here are amazing and so helpful. I have asked all kinds of questions and they are always open and honest about my questions. I got a couple of cookbooks on my last trip and was very happy with my purchases. The trip before I found an old lamb cake mold for $1 and I had no idea how to use it and she said she didn't either but was curious about it, too! She said if it worked for Easter to let her know - so I'll post my successful pic here for her! It's been a great place to shop!

Last Friday we stopped at the Key Training Center Thrift store in Homosassa looked around and…read morepicked up a couple small frying pans that were BOGO that day. At the register the clerk rung up at regular price for two, we told her they are listed on the specials board as BOGO...she didn't know but said oops sorry. Instead of taking the price off for one of the pans she gave a slip of paper for store credit and only good for one month. We were upset at the policy no refunds...we had not left the register area? If we use that "store credit" we will have to drive over 100 miles round trip...we have been there many times and found some nice things to buy. I think some better schooling is in order. How hard is it to say by the way x items are on special today...and learn how to put a bogus charge back on the credit/debit cards.

The shops where they turn items over are also well run and you find REAL buys. Very well organized, friendly staff, clean, fitting rooms, and great prices! Only complaint is some of the stuff is not contemporary but that's typical for a thrift shop. I donate good, clean clothing (no tears or stains) so people with lower incomes can afford to purchase them. I understand the need for funding the Hospice, but not at the expense of the poor. I have also donated several times- both furniture, clothes and home goods. I don't know what program they support thru their sales but I will continue to support them by donations and purchases.
