They have everyone going in one direction and control the number of people who should enter each interior room. You can easily spend a lot of time in the museum if you read everything. Oh, note that almost all of the text is in German with very little translations.

Mercedes is on a different level! Literally. 4 or 5 floors, I can't remember but you take these cool little lifts to the top floor and work your way down. I love museums and especially car museums when the earliest designs are only slightly better than walking with an 8kmph top speed! The top is the early vehicles and you walk down to get what resembles a vehicle. Then as you descend, note and note recognizable vehicles. Also, kudos to both, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz for not skipping history (looking at you 30s-40s) regardless of the travesties, it's part of their history. Meanwhile the US is trying to erase their not so stellar histories. But I digress. If you love cars AND history, you could literally spend an entire day looking at the development of various MB cars, busses, engine cutaways, and more. 100% recommend if you're in Stuttgart. Bonus points for a Cars and Coffee event going on during our visit. Love seeing people living older cars and preserving history!

They have a ton fo really cool examples of jewelry dating back to 2000+ BC to more modern examples being made in Pforzheim, the Gold City, as recently as 2019. There's an awesome garden to explore outside and a nice cafe to order coffee and small snacks from. It's located right next to a bus stop and is easy to access from the Hauptbahnhof. It costs €2.50 for students and a few euros more for non-students, very affordable overall. Check it out if you'd like a relaxing afternoon and have some spare time on your hands.

I bought many decks of cards (1-2-3-many-lots!) and only spent about 60 Euros. How is that? The lady working was so sweet and gave me a magazine and booklet about the displays- in German, but said though I couldn't read them I would find them interesting. She was just so wonderful. She also made sure I had pamphlets and things. They change the display every year. And so I would SO like to return. It has been here for thirty years. Can you believe that? I got all done and came outside to wait for my ride and was thinking about it. It is a free museum. I would gladly pay a fiver to go there again. So I went back downstairs and asked her if I could make a donation, to make sure they were still here should I return someday. She asked me to sign the guestbook with all the nice things I said to her about the place. Other people go to Lourdes. I make my pilgrimage to the Cards. I'm really glad I went. :)

I used to visit this zoo/ botanical garden many years ago when I came to visit my family…read more Seems like a lot has changed and although some areas are still pretty, the renovations around made it look dirtier than before. The old greenhouses are wonderful. Some of the animal enclosures are a bit dated,The zoo is very green and, thanks to a lot of trees , there is shade as it was hot while me and my princess walked around lol.
