The description…read moreon The Haunt website describes a great adventure consisting of three components: a haunted house, a 5 acre corn maze, and a haunted forest. Sounded great, but the description was FAR from reality. First of all, the order of events was not as described. The website says you go through the house, then to the corn maze, then through the woods. We actually started off in the maze, then went through the woods, and ended in the house. The maze was nothing like I would have imagined. The corn was dead stalks that were mashed down into slightly convoluted pathways. The only mystery involved was trying to figure out which mashed down sections were actually paths and which were just areas that had been smashed by passersby and "actors." Figuring it out was made difficult by the godawful glaring spotlight that was positively BLINDING and unpleasant. We were told to follow the lights on the ground leading through the "haunted forest." Problem was that the lights were blinding, which was especially bad, given the dangers of holes and dropoffs throughout. My husband nearly fell into a large hole, inside which a "monster" was lurking in wait. To top it off, the light path we were supposed to follow would suddenly disappear, leaving us without a clue as to where to go. The "haunted house" was the absolute lamest thing I have EVER seen. We entered the house through the basement, then went up the stairs, through the bathroom, and then out. There was nothing at all scary about anything in this house and it was a very short path. The scariest part was navigating the downhill path to the basement in the dark. Very dangerous. Unlike other haunted houses I have been to, this one had no special effects or animatronics. Furthermore, the actors were nearly all 7 year olds in skull masks and the make up job on those wearing it was really bad. I also take issue with the fact that REAL dead animals were used. I am disturbed by the fact that dead rabbits, who appear to have been killed unnecessarily just for the purpose of this event, were displayed and touched by unwitting patrons. There was also a real hog head. This is problematic because it is unsanitary. People touch these things accidentally and can pick up bacteria that they can then transfer elsewhere. Overall, this "haunted" exhibit was very amateurish, boring, unscary, and actually dangerous, due to the lack of visibility in treacherous terrain. It was definitely not worth the time, but had I not had less than 1/2 price admission, I would be thoroughly pissed!

With the festival taking place at Goodale Park, it's pretty much in my backyard and impossible for…read moreme to avoid. Last year I was out of town but, this year I made sure to give it a visit. The weather was sunny and hot all weekend but the spirit of Comfest rang true. Food, drink, music, art, local businesses, and good people having a damn good time. What's not to love? I spent most of my time lounging under a tree with friends on patched together sheets and blankets. That was definitely the best part, just passing time with good friends. Yes, we saw naked folks and the smell of weed was rather consistent, but this is the perfect atmosphere to just let go and not worry about everyone else. Just do you! When it came to the food, I enjoyed pizza from Late Night Slice, fries from one of the fair food stands, and hummus and falalel from Lavash. There were so many choices it was hard to settle. I also saw ice cream, baked goods, funnel cakes, etc. A good mixture of local restaurants and fair food stands. There was a little something for everybody. On top of all that, I also loved seeing how clean the park was kept and how much programming there was for the kiddos. Living in the neighborhood, it's nice to see that its taking care of and family friendly. Pro tip - make sure you find safe parking. I saw way too many cars getting towed in front of my house for silly things like parking in front of a fire hydrant or handicap ramps.

If purchasing tickets, there is NO NEED to upgrade to Premium or VIP. The seat cushions are not necessary, as there are benches, the floor is carpeted, and the kids are up and moving a majority of the time. The light up wristbands are underwhelming, at best. There was only one scene that I felt they were actually synced to the music; the remainder of the time you see two lights periodically change color on wrist. And more importantly, if you weren't wearing one, you (or your kids) would never notice! Lastly, the "free" print is given away as they parade you into the gift shop. . . Just looks like people are in line to purchase something. . . Again, your kids would not feel as if they were missing out. Enjoy, but don't be sucked in to spend the extra money.

Started at the pavilion in Riverside Crossing Park, across from Bridge Park where there was parking. Fairies there, and sway, and a map to visit all the fairy doors and get more swag. You can walk across the bridge or drive around to old Dublin, since there are sites both there and in Bridge Park. Shop staff were super friendly, and some places they had snacks, stickers, etc., for the kids. If you have trouble finding a door they'll help. Some are easy, some are tricky to see. The Visit Dublin staff at the start and the end (the visitor's center on South High) were great. It may seem silly but it's big fun for the kids, and gets people into the shops. We got a couple of things, and discovered a few new shops. Also got my steps in.

He explained to me to not buy from Ticketmaster as you may not get the exact seats you want and will over charge you. So I trusted him and waited 11 days to get tickets from him. And he only had 1 end zone ticket! He and his old man sales speech sucks and so does his garbage company!! I trusted him to have a variety of choices of seats for this big game and he failed me!

Billed as the biggest Lego fest around. Held at the fairgrounds at the same time as several other…read moreevents, so traffic and parking were a nightmare. We ended up parking west of the railroad tracks and walking. It's in the Lausch building, a mid-sized display are (as far as the fairgrounds go.) Easy to check in. Cost is $20 each, for kids too (under 2 are free.) Inside there are many vendors, with good selections of all sorts of Legos: minifigs, big kits, smaller ones, retired ones, you name it. A couple of building areas, one for younger kids and one for older. Apparently some celebrities, but I'm not a Lego fanboi so I had no idea who they were- expert builders? Oh, and plenty of built displays, some pretty good ones. Only food or drink vendor I saw was Schmidt's. All in all, for the price it was just okay (though we didn't have to pay to park, as mentioned.) Prices for merchandise were standard, no deals I saw. Kid K had fun but wanted to leave after half an hour (and a small kit and a lightsaber...) I'd rather go to the local Lego stores, especially Bricks and Minifigs which has used kits sometimes and special deals.
