I recall having a dynamite white from Lazio, among other terrific wines. You'll get a small complementary antipasti plate with your purchase. We liked it so much that on our second visit (in four days), we sprung for the large plate and called it dinner. Seemed popular with the locals. The oysters, pork sliders and "bikini" toast with truffle and cheese were outstanding! Chef Eerika, our server JJ, and Sommelier Sophie created a great experience. Wandering looking for a good meal as opposed to just food to close out our long trip we stumbled across this little gem. With a limited food menu and an amazing wine selection we had a seat. To be honest they had us at "Yes our kitchen is still open". I mention the limited menu because it is quite limited as they have the food prepped at their other location and brought before completion to this small outpost. We had their special appetizer of Mackerel and the Coq au Vin main paired with a great wine recommendation. Check the menu board which changes daily and treat yourself to this fun intimate space. Great music playing at a nice level, lighting not to bright nor to dim, seats outside and a friendly staff... next time through town we will certainly stop by.

So after we had a dinner we decided to go for a glass of wine. Malbeck was on my bookmarks and it was very close to the meat packing district so it was the place to go. I was happily surprised with the cosy interior and the good service. It is a small and warm place on Istegade. If you don't know it exists you probably will not pay attention when you pass by. We tried 3 different wines each and all of them were good. Apparently all wines come from Argentina in Malbeck. The girl who was working was very friendly and able to explain and suggest wines. The place was not full, there was enough space for everyone and I really liked the setup of the benches. A good place for a chill afternoon/evening.
