Walk to all, shuttle to Pampelonne, and definitely dine at La Ponche. Hotel de Paris is perfection.

Everyone was polite, friendly, and accommodating, and gave us free champagnes on the rooftop lounge while waiting for our room, and when we got to our rooms, it was fresh and clean. Room service was so fast, readied in 20 minutes, where we ordered truffle cod, risotto, pizza and fries. They also gave us a large basket of bread, as it is a must in France, and every condiment possible. I could have been full with just the bread basket and all the butter. Everything was fresh and delicious. Reception was fast to check us in and out, the concierge was helpful in recommending and booking a lunch at the Tahiti, after learning that we like somewhere calm and good for swimming. The hotel shuttle took us to the beach, free of charge, and on return, we didn't have our phone, so the Tahiti restaurant happily called the hotel shuttle for us, the shuttle driver also walked all the way inside the restaurent to look for us. Everything was perfect! The drivers are so well dressed and nice. It was just the 2 of us in the shuttle, felt like a private luxury experience. Also, you don't want to drive in Saint Tropez. It's a nightware and parking is impossible. I loved the hotel beach bag, and ask the receptionist for it. It was price at €20, and she just gave it to me for free. That was so nice of her.

What you cannot see is the warmth you feel from the staff from the moment you arrive. Each guest is welcomed with cocktails on the lobby level terrace so that you can immediately begin to take in the surreal views as they gather the details of your reservation. No need to wait at the desk and lines here are unheard of, even in the high season. By the time we were halfway through with our first champagne toast and a few sips of the local bubbly, the front desk staff returned our passports and credit cards to us with all paperwork to sign off on. The bellman/concierge escorts you down to your room as this hotel is a a bit like a maze, cleverly tucked into the hills of Gassin. The rooms are all that you can imagine - very spacious and the epitome of luxury. The perfect setting for a romantic getaway or honeymoon. If you care to dine at the hotel, you are in for a treat at the Michelin starred restaurant. We chose to dine here on our first evening and the experience was beyond what we could have imagined. Superb food including a cheese coarse with an abundance of local choices and fresh herbs that you can select for your tea if you choose. Exceptional white glove service and the price tag to go along with that. But hey - you're in Saint Tropez. The hotel itself was actually quite reasonable, considering what they are asking in the actual town of Saint Tropez, which is just 5 - 10 mins drive, if that. Hotel Villa Belrose was an excellent choice and I dream everyday of returning!

The room was mediocre at best, though pool and facilities were shockingly dirty. Ensure to double check your bill for incorrect charges that they try to slip by prior check out (ex. 100 EUR parking fees despite not having a car). This was easily the worst place we have stayed when visiting the south of France. We would recommend staying at a more legitimate/reputable establishment that can offer better service and a less stressful experience. Do not stay here if you expect any help with beach club reservations, as you will have to make those accommodations yourself, despite following up with Mohammed on several occasions. 1/5 dump.

I am the pickiest eater and there were things on the menu I was a little worried I wouldn't like. Our waitress recommend some items and said I should try it because it's delicious. We ordered so many things on the menu and I tried all of it everything was so delicious. My favorite was the pasta they mix in a bowl of fresh Parmesan cheese and one of my favorite appetizers I believe was the carpaccio. I don't remember the name of everything else but everything was delicious. The ambience was so amazing and the staff was very friendly.

It's a rather simple 3-star place and in any other town you'd be shocked at the prices. But this is St Tropez and the euro simply doesn't go very far here at all. At €200/night, the Bastide du Port is about 1/4 - 1/3 the price of most of the resorts in St Tropez. That said, I had a few albeit minor gripes...It was a bit annoying that the bathroom didn't have a shower but instead had a tub which you had to awkwardly hold a shower head to get a decent shower. How much work would it have been to install a simple holder for the shower head so you don't have to crouch to clean yourself off? There is a beach directly across the street but it's gnarly, you're much better taking a walk towards the Pearl Beach club (5 min walk) or hop in the car and go to the beaches (Club 55, Nikki Beach) in Ramatuelle. However, if you are looking for a semi-affordable place within walking distance of the old town in St Tropez, you have few if any options. The Bastide du Port is probably one of the better choices. Note Bastide in french means a fortified town and not a bastard as my travelling companions insisted!
