What a quaint little town. So much to see, it's amazing…read more Most famously the St. Stephan Dome. A spectacular cathedral. Much smaller but also very picturesque and interesting is the St. Paul church. There are beautiful historic buildings all over, including a wonderful garden next to the tunnel adjacent to St. Pauls. Find cool little cafes and shops along the narrow cobblestone street. Careful though, traffic flows a lot faster than you would expect here. There is both old and new art in every corner it seems.

Five Foot Bridge! This old-looking bridge crosses a little…read moreriver over from the Old Town part of Passau over to a church and a bunch of residential buildings. This bridge is not open to cars- only pedestrian and bicyclists. It looks really old, made of metal and pavement. When I went, it was so foggy, you couldn't see across the river, and made for a spooky view of Old Town. It's a picturesque vantage point to take in the town. It's a quiet spot, with the occasional bicyclist zipping by. There used to be a toll to cross the bridge, but not anymore. It's FREE!

Beautiful church, the decorations, frescos and statues are really impressive…read more This large building with its white towers and blue-green domes is the crucial baroque church north of the Alps. The ornately interior holds an exceptional treasure: the biggest cathedral organ in the world with 17,974 pipes and 233 registers...currently being renovated, so many of the pipes are not on site....The noon concert was not great due to the lack of organ pipes....which are expected to be ready to play again in 2027. The St. Stephen's Cathedral is the mother church of the Danube's eastern region. The magnificent cathedral with lots of Baroque influence is situated at the highest point of Passau's old town, the Altstadt.

As so many others I was in town to join a river cruise and thought I should go and see the world's…read morelargest pipe organ. Imagine my disappointment when I found out that it is under construction currently. Half of the Dom is blocked by scaffolding. I mean it's still very pretty with lots of things to admire, but I won't be back here again and so I did miss out on the organ. Still it is worth a look-see. It is quite an impressive church.
