Our son, who has found it difficult to communicate in general, opened up to Dr.Julie very easily. The result of the evaluation not only helped us make the appropriate educational decisions for our son, but also finally got to the bottom of what our son needed. We had consulted with many professionals about our son's fatigue (even his psychiatrist and doctor could not figure out why he was always so exhausted), but Dr. Julie was the ONLY one who recommended a sleep study. In fact, it was this sleep study that revealed he had sleep apnea, which only worsened his sensory issues, fatigue and ADHD related symptoms. A CPAP mask should help alleviate his fatigue, which is such a relief! Dr. Julie is not only highly competent, but she is also kind, compassionate and thorough. We are grateful for Dr. Julie's help!

Her calm, understanding demeanor and approach to therapy helped me immensely, and she helped me feel very comfortable sharing personal information. Because of an insurance snafu, I ended up with a large balance owed after our sessions. Olympia Therapy was very understanding about the financial challenge this presented and did not pressure me to pay my balance off immediately. They offered me a payment plan, and did not send my account to collections after it took me many months to pay it off. When I eventually came in to make the payment, the receptionist showed genuine concern that I should continue in therapy if I felt like I still needed it. I told her that I could not afford to pay Katrina's rate with my lousy insurance and high deductible, and so she gave me options of other therapists at the practice that charged a lower rate. The people at Olympia Therapy have been nothing but kind, and with the new information, I think I will try another therapist there that charges a lower rate. I cannot recommend Olympia Therapy enough!

I turned 59 years old 7 months ago was so sick and depressed I could not…read morefunction- literally. I began gaining weight over 10 years ago even though I ate healthy. I could NOT lose weight even though I was eating low fat, lots of organic veggies and whole wheat pastas. I went to see 'doctors' and they assumed I ate cookies and ice cream. I became extremely ill and the day I decided to go to the doctor, I barely made it. I was throwing up and found out I had type 2 diabetes which explained the tooth and periodontal problems, foggy-brain, anxiety, and exhaustion, among other things. I contacted Maxine, and told her what I had found out. Maxine designed a food plan and simple exercise regimen for me and I stuck to it. Literally within 2 weeks my blood sugar went from 358 to 110, and in one month it was normal. In 3 months the doctors were shocked when they retested me for everything from blood pressure (which had been high) to blood sugar, and said "this has never happened". The diet they suggested would have kept me on medications, and I would have gone down the road of depending on meds with no weight loss. Maxine is educated in the science of how obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, periodontal problems, high cholesterol all stem from the same faulty assumptions about diet, and exercise. I lost 60 pounds over several months and, more importantly, within the first few weeks I was back to my happy self. As I was losing this weight, and lowering high BP and then reversing symptoms of diabetes, I sometimes got frustrated and complained with "how come I'm not losing weight faster", or "I don't feel good", or "why does this hurt?". But Maxine was knowledgeable in being able to tell me what was going on with my body during the process. I realized then that I never was clinically depressed, it was just my body that was so out of sync. I would be happy to send any of my medical information through Maxine that was taken at the U of W with the numbers and data that show such a dramatic change that the entire staff at the clinic was amazed to see. They are not trained as Maxine has been - and if you have any of these problems, this may be the way out for you as it was for me.
