Must say I was pretty unenthused about the whole process of visitation at this location …read more... recently found out my best friend was incarcerated at this facility and let me just say I put off the visit for a week or two, due to my experience of sheer hell , total waste of time and un due stress and anger id have every week twice a week from December 2012-January 2014 and again late 2016 to mid 2017. Happy to say this time was a vast improvement! Kudos to the Staff , which was courteous and prompt, and no long lines. Besides the bucket in middle of waiting room collecting the roof leak, it seemed way cleaner. Can't vouch for the bathroom which was always just horrifying! Line moved smoothly, officers weren't standing around shooting the shit and ignoring us and letting the line build....or didn't flirt with the hood rats or talk shit or be extra with each individual...... Names called pretty promptly.... actually called within 15 minutes of checking in.... I used to fall asleep waiting for my ex boyfriends name to be called. The major problems back when was the officers always without fail would make some snarky remark or be on some enormous power trip and loved playing god with your visits. Guess al the complaints really prompted some customer service skills or on a more realistic way of putting things, the county decided to place the old officers whom were void of any human emotions somewhere that didn't involve the general public... Also the lines and disorder of the visitation was just outrageous. Congrats on getting it together, Really makes our day go by smoothly, it's nice to not be punished for our loved ones mistakes lol! I will say that the rate for parking is pretty high.... while wayside offers free parking... this is why I gave you 4 stars.

My son is in their facility they have been treating him very badly they haven't given him a drink…read moreof water for approximately 30 days they put him in a cell where there is no drinking fountain he was urinating blood and he had diarrhea at the same time he also passed out a few times and he woke up and the sheriff was walking right past him like he was nothing I had to make almost 400 phone calls up there and spoke with many sheriffs and many medical staff members I requested on at least two dozen occasions for them to send him to the hospital and they refuse to do so and ignored me I also requested for them to change him to a different cell and they also ignored that request as well they also haven't been letting him go outside to get fresh air for activities they also have been not allowing him to make phone calls for no apparent reason I also try to visit him and for no apparent reason they block me from trying to visit with him this has been going on for the past 3 months he was also picked up by three different police divisions 77 MetroPD and they had a helicopter as well he didn't even live in the Los Angeles area he lived near Pasadena it was his first apartment and they got jealous and went to his apartment and confiscated all of his brand new stuff his name brand stuff in particular they ransacked his apartment and took all of his stuff of value and caused the big scene and it was him by his self Plus one of his friends they took both of them to jail and let the friend go because they really wanted him my son Meiage Seals. When he got to the jail several LAPD and several sheriff's taunted him saying yeah we just wanted to get you here and harass you and pick on you that's right and we did that and ever since he been in there they have discluded him from phone calls they have discluded him from having visits they have ignored him during medical emergency which is medical neglect I told them he needs some water on at least 25 occasions when I talk to him he said he still haven't had any water yet you still haven't been transferred to a new unit with a water fountain he still haven't been outside for over a month for the activities that the inmates participate in he also haven't had no visits and he's not on disciplinary I have made at least 400 phone calls up there with no remedy they have falsely accused him of stealing a fake gold chain when his family have given him gold chains and purchase gold chains for him for his birthday this was all a scheme to Rob him of all of his accomplishments and Rob him of all of his name brand items and name brand shoes when I went to his apartment they stole 200 pairs of Nikes from him that he purchased with his own money and they stole at least 700 to 1,000 name brand clothing items from him that his family purchased for him his girlfriend gave to him he has a very huge family. Three different police divisions that included close to 59 officers did a third party robbery on him at his apartment when he was trying to get himself together and stay away from trouble and now he has nothing left he purchased the vehicle and the car had a lot of problems so I parked the car on my street and even the city of Los Angeles is involved I came back and they told his car so now he has absolutely nothing to come home to and they also made him homeless and then when I go to court every time I go to court I said what is he in here for their story has changed at least 10 times on the reason why he's in there they still have him in there right now I would love it if the community can help out and get my son released from this men's Central jail and help him get all of his items back his wardrobe that he saved for a long time his all of his name brand shoes and clothes his car that the city of Los Angeles stole and help him getting an apartment because this was all a setup with some jealous lapds that came together like they were a big gang

This is long. Sorry. I name names…read more The East Los Angeles Sheriff's Department is full of incompetent staff. I'm sorry but I need to give my honest opinion. I have lived in many other cities of Los Angeles County, many serviced by LASD and I have not had the issues that I have with them. I have a tenant who lives right next door to me and is under eviction. One Sunday, that tenant threatened my life. I left my house with only my phone, did not take my purse or anything else because there was no time. I called the East LA Sheriff Department and waited for them at a nearby McDonald's. I waited 2 hours in the parking lot. I could not even go into the restaurant because I did not have my wallet and had no money. Whenever I would call to follow up they told me that deputies were busy with other calls. And finally, the last time I called they told me that the deputies showed up at McDonalds and left because I was not there. I was livid! After waiting for 2 hours in a hot parking lot with no water or anything the deputies lied and said they showed up! They never showed up. When I asked the dispatch person why they did not call me, she said they did. I asked her to give me the number that they called, and she gave me some wrong number that was not even mine! I refused to go home. I spent a total of 6 hours outdoors. I went to City Terrace Park and I called East LA Sheriff's again and Deputy Quinonez basically told me that I was not a priority since I was not physically hurt. So, I need to be stabbed by my tenant before I am considered a priority?! I have talked to Deputty Quinonez on other occasions and he is always a smart a$$. On another occasion I called 911 because a person who had previously attempted to unalive themselves was saying that they wanted to try to unalive themselves again and that person was having a crisis. That person was inside a car with their abusive partner parked in the street. I expected an ambulance to show up. Instead, only deputies showed up. The deputies spoke to the person and to the person's abusive partner, and they " determined " that the person was not in danger. These deputies are far from being medical or mental health professionals. Anyway, they never came to speak to me, and I was the one that placed the call and the one that had prior knowledge of this person's previous attempts to unalive themselves. One day I was at the East Los Angeles Sheriff's office for paperwork. While there I spoke to deputy Reel (if I remember correctly, he is a supervisor) about the incident with the person trying to unalive themselves. Deputy Reel said that IT IS NOT AGAINST THE LAW TO UNALIVE YOURSELF!!!!! And Deputy Reel also kept giving me the "short staff" excuse for deputies not showing up for other calls. I also brought up the time my tenant threatened to unalive me. Deputy Reel told me that if she did not have a weapon, it is not a crime. I asked deputy Reel, "So if I say to you right now that I am going to unalive you, that is not a crime?" He said, "correct". When I lived in Northern Los Angeles County if the deputies showed up for someone claiming they will unalive themselves, they would let the fire dept handle it and let them take the person to a hospital where they would be evaluated, placed on hold, and given mental health treatment. Anyway, I have other bad experiences, and I can name names. That will be for another occasion. I keep receipts. East Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, do better. Sheriff Luna, do better. People of East Los Angeles, be more discerning and expect more from your local authorities.
