My mom called to make an order for balloons for my sister's upcoming birthday party. The lady on the phone was rude. Told her she couldn't take an order over the phone and she would have to come in. My mom then asked a question and the lady hung up on her as my mom was talking. Last time I ordered a year ago in person they told me I'm supposed order on the phone because they don't have time to do it in person. Very poor customer service. Won't be going here. This is a nice establishment with plenty of options for your party needs. They also keep a huge costume selection during the Halloween Season. I must caution that the service is not good. Associates do not initiate contact or being helpful and seem a bit put off when help is asked for. I really hate that this is the case because the space and selection is really great. If you're doing a project where you need input and assistance from staff, this may not be the best choice. However, if you just want to get what's on your list and need no further assistance, this could work out. read more

If I could give this business a negative stars rating, I would! I ordered a latex helium balloon arrangement for my baby shower on June 12. I made sure to order the balloons eight days in advance. I paid for the balloons and made sure to confirm that they would be ready for pick up at 10:30 AM on Sunday, June 12 the morning of my baby shower which was in Solon at noon. However when my wife arrived at Party Place at 10:30, she was informed that not only was our balloon arrangement not ready, but there were 64 balloons that needed to be inflated before they could work on our order. The employee working at the time told my wife "they had been on vacation and didn't know that they had so many orders that had to be ready when Party Place opened that day." There was also another woman who was there to pick up a balloon order for a bridal shower whose order also hadn't even been started. She was literally IN TEARS, so they ruined more than one event! We ended up not getting the balloons from them at all for our baby shower because they were not going to be ready in time. My wife was told that because I paid with a credit card they could not refund the card without me (and the card) being present and they could not give her the money back in cash. Then they had the audacity to offer my wife a store credit as if we planned to patronize them after this epic failure! I received a call this morning from another employee of Party Place who called to ask me what day my order was supposed to be picked up!!!! I told him YESTERDAY. The receipt said June 12 at 10:30 AM! When I asked for a refund, I was told that I would have to return again to the store in order for them to refund my card! I wouldn't recommend this business to my worst enemy let alone to someone who has a large event, special moment or occasion that they are looking forward to celebrating. They single handedly made my entire family stressed out as we had to scramble to figure out decorations and where to source them from last minute. Party Place is incompetent at best and the lack of apology when they called me today makes their service beyond abhorrent in my opinion. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! read more

Huge latex balloon selection and basically any party decor selection! I found Party Place through Yelp and through my own experience of getting an order of balloons blown up, I had a great experience. The young lady who took my order was very kind and explained the process to me. I ended up changing one of the balloon colors two days before my pick-up time, and Amaya who picked up on the phone was able to help me get things switched out. Thank you so much for your help Amaya!! Tip for pickup: if you are only picking balloons up and do not need to purchase anything else, there's no need to wait in the checkout line. Simply walk to the far right end of the register area and you can pick up your balloons from the person who is blowing up balloons. read more

The prices at this store are a little higher than other party stores. However, for an independently owned place I do not think the prices are that bad. I frequent this store for all my specialty party needs, particularly balloons. There balloons selection is plentiful and affordable, and the employees are great at making the arrangements in a timely manner. read more

I know it's a difficult time as everyone has a shortage of employees because of the pandemic and I also know that Saturdays are probably the most busy day. I went in and tried to purchase supplies and balloons for my son's birthday and not only were they not taking any additional balloon orders, the one manager was extremely rude about it, and all of the employees seemed overly stressed because she was barking orders at them. Her attitude had a trickle down effect that was manifesting itself into everyone. She then admonished an employee for looking at her phone for 2 seconds. After she did that she tried to make eye contact with me for my approval. I was thoroughly embarrassed by this interaction and do not condone the manager's behavior AT ALL. As a white woman, she needs to speak to all employees with respect, but this confrontation took place with a BLACK TEENAGER and I, as a white woman also, completely disapprove of her obviously demeaning tactics towards her. The manager needs to learn that she'll get far better performances out of her employees with leading by example-for God's sake it's supposed to be a happy place-be happy you have a job and appreciate the fact that your employees show up!! And if you can't, get a new job not dealing with the public-many more are now available! Please coach your managers on ethics and to not speak to their employees in such a rude manner in front of customers, it is in especially poor judgement, showing a lack of integrity, class and couth. It is exceptionally important to always be courteous, polite and patient, but more so now because everyone's nerves are frazzled from the pandemic. If you must speak to your employees about store policy please do it privately! Belittling a person publicly only makes an employee resentful and you run the risk of losing them in an already tight hiring environment...Learn to leave your nasty attitude and emotions at the door-everyone's day will be better for it. I wonder if anyone reviewing party please has ever been to another party supply store? This is pretty much how they are. I found tons of great stuff for my daughter's class Thanksgiving party. Including a Pilgrim costume! It's not anything special but the prices are good and it there is a great selection. This is the Party Place on Mayfield that I think everyone forgets about. Stopped in recently to pick up some Baby Shower swag and found everything we needed at pretty cheap prices. Of course you have to look around for the discounts but they exist. Huge selection of just about everything you need when having a party. Place doesn't seem overly busy which is always a great thing for those with kids or people who are in a rush. 3 stars cause it seemed really cluttered and not a whole lot on displays. read more

I ordered 2 ballon bouquets for my husband birthday/retirement party on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 and I requested to pick up on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:30 am. I called before pick up and confirmed they were ready. I arrived to pick up balloons and they had not started on my order. I indicated my order should be ready seeing that I ordered 4 days early and the manager indicated it doesn't matter we will get order ready now. I asked for money off my order for inconvenience and she ignored me. If the event was not important I would have requested a refund. This place had terrible service. I wanted to buy two little balloons for my son's second birthday (one for each year) and waited in line for about ten minutes to talk to the balloon employee. She had a phone call while I was standing there waiting and the person on the phone was ordering balloons to pick up in twenty minutes. She got off the phone and I asked to get the two balloons and was told there would be a wait because they had to fill all their orders first. I watched them filling balloons and it takes literally three seconds per balloon so it would have taken them six seconds to fill my balloons. I drove significantly out of my way to come all the way down to their store and they prioritized someone that phoned them while I was waiting right there. We got no balloons and I will never return to this store. read more

I really liked this place for party supplies in the past. I bought all my party supplies from here and I throw a lot of parties . Unfortunately I was very disappointed this time. After rushing from work to make it to the store before they closed in an attempt to keep a 5 year tradition alive, I went in to get 5 helium balloons for a Memorial for my mother in law. The number 5 was significant to the number of years she has been gone. I was told by the cashier that I could only get 3 balloons because they were closing in 10 min. Ridiculous. They couldn't even blow up 2 extra balloons for a memorial service to honor the memory of an amazing woman. Now The 5 year tradition of having the number of balloons represent the years she has been gone is broken because of 1 lazy cashier. I will not go back here and will tell everyone I know not to go here as well. read more

The prices are decent and the selection is pretty good but the employees are not. Quite rude and unhelpful. I bought a bunch of stuff here this summer and specifically asked at the register if I could return what I don't use and she showed me what was returnable (not the hats or boas). I tried to return 5 or 6 of the "returnable" items after a couple days, and another employee told me that no wearables were returnable, even though I was told these specific items were. She then said, "Besides, we shouldn't take anything back because of Covid." I wish I had known this. This staff needs better training. You've lost a loyal customer. Tried to patronize local businesses, but Amazon is way easier! read more

I would give them a big fat "0" if that were possible on this site and advise anyone to stay as far away from this cheating place as possiblePurchased $100+ in prom balloons, was told can bring back to have more helium added at later time if needed at no additional charge. Took balloons back and was informed would be charged $5.99 for each. Informed worker I was told otherwise and after a "bunch" of going back and forth another worker chimed in and said charge $3.00 per balloon. Requested bag for these oversized balloons so they would not be flopping all over the place and was informed had to pay for it (didn't pay one red penny for bag when other balloons were purchased). Are you kidding me⁉After this second dispute a kind lady in line behind me paid for bag, as she and others in line were well disgusted at drama unfolding before them as well as pay for their purchases and leave. Upon seeing me outside, I was informed by this same kind lady other workers told the one disputing with me she should not have charged me. Her reply was that "It was her money and she could do what she wanted." In other words, she is "stealing" money from customers where there should be no charge‼At the time, I did not realize the so-called manager was standing right there mute the whole time this back and forth disputing was taking place.
