She provided 40 pictures. Quality over quantity and none of them were good. When speaking to her about this and possibly reshooting or getting a refund she said she stands by her work and she would not reshoot. I deleted the entire email link she gave me because I didn't even want to look at the pictures. I am so upset and so disappointed. This pictures really meant a lot to my fiancé and I. I was very excited and now I'm really just heart broken. I do not recommend couples photos. Over all she seemed like a nice person and other photos may be better but couples photos and god forbid wedding pictures I wouldn't bother at all. Just over all very upsetting. **update*** She was not "blind sided" as we had an entire conversation of me begging to reshoot giving her the benefit of the doubt that it was an off day because her website did not look like this. When she wouldn't I asked for a refund and expressed how I really was not happy and how everything was just awkward. She said she "stood by her work" she said no one else had ever told her they didn't like their photo. Another persons review on "the knot" says otherwise (and they were someone's wedding photos and involve breach of contract). Examples of the "professional" photos Joelle took. You can see that they are awkward and unflattering. The picture of the ring you can see orange outlines all over my hand for her "edit". Which I believe her edits are just filters and lots of color enhancing not actual edits. She even provided "glamor edits" within 5 minutes to see if I would like them which was a weird and distorted makeup filter over my face in serval pictures. The reason I didn't want the focus on my pregnancy is because it is still very early and I have not even shared with many friends or close family members yet. Which I had told Joelle during our session. In fact I didn't even tell her I was pregnant a referral told her. The fact that she even brought that up during a response to a negative review is completely inappropriate and shows a level of unprofessionalism I didn't even think was possible. I don't think I'm a model by any means but my self confidence is not that low. When I said I was upset and "struggling" I got so emotional because these pictures were so important to me and she wouldn't budge and I started to blame myself. But it is not my fault that I got ripped off and bad photos. I was so polite when I had told her I wasn't happy. I debated even saying anything at all but was encouraged to speak up because they were expensive and I really wanted to love my photos. I trusted her to tell me if the weather would not work she as the "professional" told me she was comfortable and confident to go through with it. She didn't show me the photos as they were taken. She stopped at the end and quickly ran through the photos on the tiny little camera screen. As someone who doesn't know a thing about photography I was not very critical of the 1 inch by 1 inch screen and the rapid run through of pictures. When I actually got the photos back however I was able to see how terrible they are. None of my pictures are "wind blown" they are just bad photos. You can tell she's has no professional training and was probably a bored house wife who got a Nikon for Christmas and decided to make a career of it. How absolutely horrific.

The pictures were done nicely and she was easy to work with during the session, but did not follow…read morethrough with editing she promised (holes in the wall, scratch on leg, and tag showing) and the "free" book provided, which I had to remind her about three time, had her water marked name on two pictures and the pictures that I asked to edit in the book were not edited. When confronted about concerns, I was told she stands by her work. She did not even try to make the images better and did not look at the book. If this is the work she stands by, I would not recommend her. I had seen her work with another client and my product was not like my friend's work.

Don't hesitate, just do it…read more I purchased a Groupon which led to Graciela (photographer of Indigo Love). I wanted to have a Boudoir session and give an album to my fiance on our wedding day. I initially contacted her via email and once the date of our session was set, she called. Immediately upon talking to her, my mind was put at ease. She is personable, outgoing, down-to-earth, and fun. She is easy to talk to and open to lots of ideas. She discussed her privacy policy, which I was most concerned about and it is very good. Prior to the shoot I took pictures of my outfits on my phone and she confirmed that I was on the right track and gave a few more ideas. The day of the shoot I got to her house early and was greeted by her and the make-up artist Katie (we were the only ones in her house the whole day). Graciela went through my outfits while Katie started on my hair and make up. Once I was ready to go, we went to the 'photography room' in her house. This is a room where everything, including the floor, is painted white. It's very vintage and she has a bunch of different settings/props (boudoir couch, old telephone, old radio, etc). She also has 2 backdrops available at the moment. Be sure to ask her about these ahead of time. She also has her own lighting, so don't worry about the day being cloudy instead of sunny. The pictures turned out fantastic! Some of them I look at and can't believe it's me. They look like a cross between Maxim and classy boudoir. I was so proud that I showed some of my friends (who now know me a little 'too' well!). Advice: I highly suggest at least getting the make up portion of the Boudoir session, because it really helps even out your skin tone in the bright lights of the photos. Don't expect fantastic hair, she's more of a makeup artist than a stylist, but it did the job for the 'bedhead look' I was wanting. And fair warning, Graciela is an artist with LOTS of ideas. You may have to keep her on track and be REALLY descriptive with your ideas. We had lots of plans at the beginning of the day, but in reality you only have a certain amount of time, so be sure to voice your thoughts because she will prioritize and not be offended. Lastly, if you're someone who needs a 'pristine' environment, you might talk to her about holding the session at a hotel room. Price? I went all out. I got the longer session with makeup and hair onsite, 8'x8' album, four 8'x10's, and two 5x7's. (FYI the album includes the digital's). When all was said and done, minus the Groupon and plus tip and the new outfits I spent around $900-1000. When I priced other photographers in the area and in Philly, that's actually VERY reasonable for everything I got. I suppose I could've done it for cheaper if I hadn't gotten all the extras, but you're only young once!

While I wish this review was about celebrating happy moments, it's instead about something deeper…read more-- love, loss, and gratitude. Late on a Thursday evening, I learned that my 16-year-old dog -- my best friend in the entire world -- didn't have much time left. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I remembered hearing about a local photographer, Liz from Brownhaven Photography, and her heartfelt project called Blossom's Buddies. Liz created Blossom's Buddies in memory of her two senior pups, Blossom and Lila, who she loved deeply and lost within months of each other. To honor them, she now offers free photo sessions for senior pets (10 years or older) or for any animal who's received a terminal diagnosis. After digging through old screenshots, I found Liz's info and emailed her around 10pm on a Friday night with the subject line, "Senior Animal Portraits? (My best friend doesn't have long left with us)." By 7:45am the next morning, Liz had responded, and we were making plans to capture my doggo's photos before it was too late. Despite already having a packed day ahead, Liz graciously rearranged her schedule and came to our home at 8am that Sunday morning -- just to make sure we didn't miss our chance. She helped us pick the perfect spot and set the stage for what would become an epic and emotional photo session. Though she offers these sessions free of charge, we made sure to compensate her -- because the peace and comfort she gave us were absolutely priceless. Within just a few hours, Liz sent a preview of the first few photos -- and they were stunning. Somehow, she managed to capture my dog's soul and spirit in a way I didn't think was possible. What I didn't know at the time was that the photos she took that morning would be from his final day with us. He took his last sleep just hours later. In the days that followed, Liz worked quickly to finish the rest of the gallery. Each image took my breath away -- I cried tears of both grief and gratitude, knowing that while I had to say goodbye to my dog's physical body, Liz had given me something I would never have to say goodbye to. Liz is warm, caring, compassionate, and incredibly talented. She showed up for us with heart and empathy on one of the hardest days of our lives. She gave me a gift I will treasure forever -- the chance to see my best friend's light and love live on through her lens. I will never be able to thank Liz enough for her kindness, patience, and artistry. And I hope someday our paths cross again -- under happier circumstances. Until then, I'll keep the photos she gave me close to my heart, and remember that love -- just like her work -- truly lasts forever.

It's in the middle of absolutely nowhere, so if you're heading here, just keep going. You'll get there, eventually.
