Situated at the bottom of Cheap Street, the outside of this shop is a heavenly display of fresh juicy fruit and vegetables, piles high and in an artistic jumble that speaks of olde-world greengrocers.
There is a pleasing mixture of hardy favourites interspersed with more unusual fruit and vegetable items, so always something new to try.
Unfortunately, the inside of the shop is very compact so it's impossible to browse in comfort if there's more than two or three other people (including the sales assistant) inside.
And, if the sales assistant is chatting with a regular and doesn't acknowledge a new customer it can make you feel rather a lemon (pardon the pun), and so you depart so's not to feel like an intruder on a private conversation, it being impossible to stand out of earshot!
So a great little shop if it's quiet but due to lack of space not a good option unless you like queing when the inside is already occupied. read more
