It was not an emergency since we have two bathrooms. My work and personal schedule was extr.mely busy this week. I called Drain Tactics, since I was put on the schedule. I was given a window for the service. I had also called several businesses to compare pricing. One was booked and it would have conflicted with my schedule. Another never answered. Another was over double the price. With another, the price STARTED at 3x the price and the guy said it would likely be 5x the price just to START. I was very pleased that I had called Drain Tactics. I was given a window for the techs to show up. John and Jay showed up early in the time frame that was given. Both are extremely friendly, polite and very professional. After some thorough investigation, the drain from the toilet to the main drain was clean. It was determined the culprit was something was stuck in the toilet. We had family visiting over the weekend and likely dropped something in the toilet. After a short time and the proper equipment, the toilet was cleared. John and Jay went out of their way to ensure ZERO damage occurred to ANY of our property. They checked other items to ensure there were no additional issues. House fixing adventure!!!…read more Had a leak needed a plumber found DDS on... Of course YELP!!! Jesus was very responsive and even had a phone conversation with me to explain the pricing. Pricing was very fair!!! Jesus found I have a leak in my slab and he was very honest. He quoted me our piping was very old and he could fix the leak in the slab for 800$. He then informed me that if he fixed the leak it may not just be this time. He said I could end up with a leak somewhere else and then I'd pay another 800-1k to fix a second leak. He then suggested doing a repipe. I thought here we go, but then Jesus said he doesn't do tripping, but if it were his house he would put the band aid $ towards the repipe. He even made calls to try to get me set up with his old company, but the person he called no longer worked for the company. I told him it was ok and thank you for trying. He charged 285$ for the service and high tech listening equipment. Which I felt was a fair price. I have gone with re-piping my house with repipe specialists. I will review them as well. Fortunately, They give a 25yr warranty of the piping and lifetime workmanship. Unfortunately, I will not have the need for Jesus' services anymore b/c of the warranty, but you should def call him if you are in need of an honest caring plumber. Guy showed up, I pointed out the sink that had been clogged for 8 months. He fixed it up in less than 10 minutes, and spent another 20 putting a new plunger plug in the sink so it wouldn't happen again. I pointed out a second sink that had stopped running, and he quickly assessed the problem as sediment that had built up in the faucet head. He offered to switch it out free of charge, but ended up not having the right size parts in his van. CLR ended up fixing the problem in about 15 minutes and the sink is finally running again! I had observed none recently. On further investigation, I did have a serious wastewater backup. I suspected that it was due to Comcast installing fiber optics in the neighborhood, drilling in the area of water/sewer pipes. So, the rest of the afternoon, Hunter worked with a camera and an auger to locate the blockage. He located it, but it was the lateral under my neighbor's driveway, which needed to be resolved by the utility company. Hunter asked me to let him know the outcome. It turned out to be a big deal. Indeed, the clay pipe was broken by Comcast's subcontractor drilling to install fiber duct. So, I knew there would be finger-pointing the like. I got it resolved, after a call to the PSC and a lot of back-and-forth. Sunshine Water sucked out the sewer and repaired the cracked pipe. I texted Hunter when the repair was complete, sending him photos of the cracked Clay pipe. I had shared his report with Sunshine Water, which gave them confidence in locating the break. This was very helpful because they couldn't get a camera in there due to the pipe being full of *(**&*&*. After I texted Hunter, he called me to ask how it went. I gave him the lowdown. In my long experience with home repair contractors and service companies, I have rarely encountered employees like Hunter. He left a job with loose ends beyond his control, but he cared enough about the job to want to know how it was resolved. Please thank him for me.
