The few times I've been here I feel welcomed. Plenty of members are standing around to offer directions and answers questions. Today I went to the annual Christmas concert. The music was contemporary with loud excitement in the voices. These singers had seemed to enjoy performing. Pastor Begg opened the show by welcoming us. Toward the end he gave a brief message. Parkside is very big church. The sanctuary holds hundreds. The parking lot is huge. The building is handicapped accessible in every way. Get here early. Be prepared to sit in traffic on the way out. read more

started attending this church in the 1990's alister begg is a good pastor -but after the days from September 2001 the people attending this church became increasingly of a totalitarian attitude -in the next several years I was physically and verbally attacked by people attending church at parkside ,of whom, I had no idea who they were- these were on three separate occasions over several years ,before I was sick of going to this church on each occasion I contacted one of the " junior pastors" and they sad basically-oh well that's too bad for you,we can't control what our church goer's do with a congregation of politically charged people I can only imagine what this place has become in these polarized times. I have listened to Pastor Begg on the radio for years. I decided to visit the church. Well, it was not what I expected. The people are very dry and unfriendly. Only the greeter said hello. I felt like I may as well have just stayed home and listened to the radio. read more

I've always heard him (Pastor Alistair Begg) on the radio. The church is huge. There's parking for miles (not literally, but seems like it). I think that they are renovating, so we were in what seemed like a theater area. There was a stage and balcony seating. The worship songs were familiar. It's a contemporary service, but not charismatic. A bit of swaying and hand clapping, but no dancing in the aisles. Pastor Begg spoke. It was a good sermon. Overall Impression: I'd recommend going there if you are in the area or visiting. read more

I was practically born in this church and attended it faithfully for over two decades. Pastor Begg's preaching was always great and Bible-based. However, as a teenager, I suddenly found myself outside of all the cliches that formed the year I was brought to 'big church' and spent my teenage years and young adult years in isolation. Also, one of the adult Sunday school teachers strayed from the Bible and said it was okay because all the preachers had different view on what was clearly stated. The church's extreme willingness to adhere to all the mandates that didn't even apply to the church, even to sending away people and prohibiting singing for a time was the final straw. I miss the part of it that was my childhood and appreciate the Biblical foundation it helped give me, but don't miss being an outsider somewhere I grew up. read more

We were here for the Basics conference! The church is beautiful the pastor and people are amazing and showing the love of Christ! No stone is unturned, the facilities are immaculate and show the glory of Christ in every aspect! The great: Loved Mr. Begg, loved Sunday School and the people at the table, even as we moved around to meet more people. Not so great: Once outside Sunday School, I felt merely tolerated, couldn't get many smiles even when shaking hands. The music was mechanical and even the great songs I knew and loved were slowed down, not very joyful singing. My teen went to youth group and came out missing her old church the more. Kids seemed to group up in cliques. Not hostile, but notably "tolerant" as opposed to welcoming. No new friends there. We could live with it in exchange for the wholesome teaching and sound doctrine, but then the bad happened: As the young Sunday School teacher, about to become a missionary to South America, tried to promote openness of heart, he made a statement saying we should welcome everybody even if they were... here he paused looking for a fitting undesirable human condition (or so it appeared), and said... Mexican. And I realized there was a bad seed there. Is being Mexican the most undesirable condition he could think of? Is this the kind of attitude of superiority a missionary takes with him? Or were there people who didn't like a Mexican in the group? I really didn't want to know. We eventually found a smaller church with a fully diverse composition in the racial and economical senses, full of joy and full of expressed love. I don't think coldness of heart and of expression is necessarily a Midwest trait and was very surprised to find it around Alistair Begg and his great messages. read more

We've been going here for years. Actually when my wife and I began courting, this would is the church we attended together. The fellowship is very loving and biblically sound. Pastor Begg has a heart for God and encourages his flock to remain fervent in testing his sermons and making sure it aligns with God's word. He is very caring and shows genuine love for God and for God's people. I have spoke to him several times throughout the years and just an all around approachable and loving brother in the Lord. Some say a large church is difficult to get connected to. In all truthfulness and once you simply extend yourself to the MANY ways you can become involved, you will see that this is not true at all. This past summer our family had the privilege of teaching VBS for an entire week. It was such a blessing to serve. We are now after 20 years, becoming members and its about time! The truth is, Christians need to be involved in their church and remain connected to the vine, which our Lord's word flows from. read more

This review concerns the Green Campus of Parkside. Solid Biblical teaching from the Senior Pastor (Begg) to those who teach Bible studies. As visitors, we sat in the morning service for 5 consecutive Sundays and were never greeted or acknowledged except by the door greeter. (It IS a younger congregation and we are senior citizens). We found the life groups to be very friendly however. The worship music is contemporary, but a bit predictable. There seems to be no choir. The worship atmosphere is warm and inspiring and the children's classes are full of happy, excited kids. There is an evening service offering solid teaching and a fine chance to worship for those who work Sunday mornings. One concern with such a Pastor centered church is what happens when the Senior Pastor retires? Pastor Begg is nearing 60. (Things have not worked out well for another large area church,The Chapel, when their longtime Pastor retired). There is a wealth of potential at Parkside Green as far as dedicated teachers and small group opportunities. If you are searching for a church that offers solid Biblical, verse-by-verse teaching and great potential for young families you should give Parkside Green a long look. read more

My husband and I attended on a Sunday morning several months ago while driving back to our home in Maine from a vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC. I have been listening to Alistair Begg for years on the radio and wanted to visit his church to listen to a sermon in person. We were not disappointed; the sermon was soundly Bible based and inspirational. The music was worshipful and contemporary with a hymn for us old fogies :-). The only negative issue we saw was that the congregation was a bit unfriendly; the only person who spoke to us was the greeter at the door. Maybe it takes a few weeks for folks in Ohio to warm up to new people, not sure. Other than that, we very much enjoyed the service read more

I cannot say enough positive things about this church. They have wonderfully informative Sunday school classes, Pastor Begg' s sermons always leave one wanting them not to end, there are numerous groups for young and seniors, a top notch coffee shop and book store. The only negative is when one moves out of the area and tries to find a comparable bible teaching church...not an easy thing to accomplish. Thankfully though...we can still hear Alistair on the radio and the church website. read more

We are Brian & Vivien Pearson from England. We have heard Alistair many times at Keswick Convention and enjoyed him. We still enjoy picking up the services on the web site and look forward to them. Singing is great and the messages usually informative and challenging. We did not appreciate Alistair mentioning the knife crime in London saying how awful it was, when we are hearing frequently about shootings/murders etc in the States. One of which was a school shooting that same week! Alistair, please do not run our country down, just keep up the good work of preaching the gospel. read more

Parkside Church is an amazing place, and Alistair is gifted. With that said a church cannot just be about Allistar. The Christmas concert was a disappointment. I dislike leaving feedback like this but.... Year after year, it is that same people up there singing. The worship leader with his guitar, year after year, every Sunday, the same people, all three services. Certainly there could be a rotation of people ministering and involving others in this large church. The soloist were singing multiple solos. Why does one person have 2 or 3 solos? The choir is reduced to back up singers for the soloist. The redundancy became boring. I am so sorry to be this honest. This is clearly an adult choir, performing for an adult group. No children, elementary, middle school or high school, and this is the way it is year after year. I feel this is not a church that involves children at all in public worship. This wonderful church could do so much more that's another same old, same old christmas concert. The best part was the orchestra. I will not return for another concert. read more
