As a long time hearing aid wearer, I cannot recommend Parker Audiology enough.
Prior to Parker Audiology, I had ongoing issues when I switched to digital programmable hearing aids. During that time I had gone through 3 audiologists; each was more specialized apparently. The ongoing 9 month span had them making continual changes every 2 weeks. In those 9 months I was increasingly shrugged off as a difficult/picky person with "damaged" hearing. The ongoing issues were simple ones: couldn't understand the car radio, tv, or loud talking people, and echoes were beyond awful--everything was simply distorting and blowing out. Not once did they hook the hearing aids up to listen through them or recalibrate before 2 weeks. At the end of that time, the hearing aids were performing at mostly adequate.
When I moved to the QC, I saw Dr, Parker and I shared the frustration I was having with the hearing aids and prior servicing. She listened, took effective notes, showed more care and empathy than any audiologist I can remember. Two calibration adjustments made and a HUGE improvement to the hearing aids. Night and day difference!
In time, as my budget allowed, she recommended updating to a pair she thought would better fit my needs. She was right on. The prior hearing aids, in comparison, were functional but not very good. With the switch to the Oticon brand and some tweaks, I was much better off hearing and understanding more than I had many years before.
A example of exceptional know how: I had a specific issue understanding Tom Brokaw on the tv (warbling and murmur sounding). In front of me, she played an online Tom Brokaw video, listened through the hearing aids and tweaked them on the spot. After those few minutes, she asked me to try them out as she played the video. Mind blown. It was pretty thrilling moment for both of us.
I've moved out of the QC area, but I still drive back in to get checkups and updates from Parker Audiology. The service and results are top tier, no kidding. read more
