I've unfortunately had both of my In-laws stay here several times in the last 3 or 4 years and overall this is a nice place. The rooms are clean as you would expect but they also have lounge chairs and even extra beds within the rooms so that a loved one can stay the night and not have to sit in a chair all night. The staff has always been friendly and the food in the cafeteria is actually pretty good. My mother in law has been here the last few days and we just might be eating Thanksgiving here if she isn't better by tomorrow. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here or have a loved one stay, but hopefully it will be infrequent.

And let me tell you, it's cheap. Like really cheap. The breakfast here is cheaper than going to McDonald's! Bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits, French toast, eggs, loaded eggs, breakfast sandwiches, they have it all! You can get a heavy breakfast for about $2! Seriously. So cheap. Lunch here is also cheap as well, for you can get a full meal for less than $5. I've eaten at other hospital cafeterias before and none are as affordable as LGMC. This is critical for loved ones visiting their sick family members. You're being hit with an expensive hospital bill - you shouldn't have to shell out $10+ for nourishment. The nurses are very knowledgeable and the ICU team is great. The pharmacy is the best - brilliant minds up there, seriously. I hope I won't have to come here often to visit or as a patient, ever - but I surely will stop by now and again for that breakfast!

I'm sitting in my hospital bed as I wrote this review. I've been waiting for my nurse to come help…read moreme for almost 30 minutes now. I have three broken ribs, a pneumothorax and pneumonia. I can barely breathe, yet, here I am reviewing a hospital on Yelp at 5:00 in the morning. Extreme incompetence in the Med-Surg Unit. They didn't even know how or where to stick the heart monitor leads on me when I got up here from the ER. I was told I would have 2 chest x rays yesterday and only had one. I was told I would have a maintenance medication to replace my own prescription that I brought with me to the hospital. Three days later and I'm still waiting on that maintenance med. I'm lucky I haven't stroked out or gone into a coma, as this medicine is a benzodiazepine and isn't to be stopped cold turkey. Sunday night, my oxygen tube fell off my bed and I called the nurse to help me out because I couldn't breathe (pneumonia), and it took her about 10 minutes to get back with me. I'm told not to drink anything, but hydration is a great way to help heal pneumonia. Nobody has collected a urine sample once since I've been here, yet every time I go to the bathroom I have to urinate in a plastic container that sits between the toilet lid and rim. They dump it every time I go to the bathroom so I'm assuming I'm not getting any bloodwork done while I'm here. I'm experiencing extreme swelling of my knees and feet, but I have to wait until a doctor starts rounds here shortly. I'm told within 30 minutes, but their 30 minutes seems to be closer to a couple of hours. If I make it out of here alive I will never come here again. I usually love this hospital, but this has been the worst experience ever, for me. There's so much more that I could say, but I've covered the main issues so I will close this up now. The only good thing about my stay thus far is my LPN, Gerri, and nurse Linda, who came up from telemetry yesterday. The respiratory therapist is nice, too. I feel like I'm in a negligent environment and advise you to get to a different hospital if you want quality treatment and to feel like your voice matters. All the best.

It was the result of lack of communication which caused unnecessary stress for my 78 year old grandmother recovering from surgery where she had four chest tubes. So the walking back and forth between registration stations and the front desk caused her to have increased trouble breathing. Do better. Communication is simple.

I want to especially commend Baylor for his prompt attention and excellent skills. I do want to say, however, that I could hear several nurses gossipping about "problem patients." However, at night, when care should be more compassionate and attentive, he was paired with a nurse who first admonished him for calling out even though the call button on his bed wasn't working and the remote wasn't within reach, but less than 48 hours after he had CABG surgery, he asked for a urinal to go to the bathroom in the ICU. When he spilled some on the floor, the nurse was incredulous, like, how did you do this? My boyfriend is a former Army Ranger. He has been through many things and trust me, that was more humiliating for him than a lot of things he has been through. He does not have time to make things difficult for someone whose only job is to have a certification for people who are mostly asleep. Honestly, if he would have told me this while he was in hospital, I would have addressed it then, but I am addressing it now. He claims not to know this nurse's name because he's a nice guy, but I am not that nice.
