The 94/93 (to Grand Place) tram stops are only a block away, and the Carrefour Express Vleurgat (a local grocery with a wide selection of ready-to-eat/drink options) is about the same distance. A short walk north on Avenue Louise to Chaussée de Vleurgat and around to Place Albert Leemans will provide you numerous options for restaurants (see review on Le Bugatti) and pubs. So, as far as location, I was quite satisfied. The hotel is quaint, and the staff was quite friendly and accommodating. I had e-mailed the staff prior to my arrival requesting that a clothing iron be available in the room during my stay (a trouser press wasn't going to cut it), and was pleased to find it waiting for me when I checked into my room. My room was situated on the 8th floor with an eastward view over Avenue Lousie, which was nice, especially being able to open the balcony doors to let in the breeze. The rooms are basic, but clean, well-maintained with a comfortable bed. For simplicity on our arrival day, we ate dinner at the restaurant in the lobby. Finding a table is never issue because it seemed like no one was ever down there. The food was good and satisfied what we were looking for. They offer a daily breakfast buffet for about 24€, but we never tried it out. I generally just walked to Carrefour for any breakfast items on the way to the tram. Overall, a pleasant experience with a very accommodating staff. Should work take me back to Brussels, I will likely opt to stay here again.

I do NOT complain anywhere I go, but he had the audacity to say what I'm saying is "bullshit." First off, we arrived on Friday afternoon and we booked a family room with fridge and AC. When we got there the AC was not working nor the fridge. They sent their handyman to fix it that night when we left for our dinner and they called us saying that it was fixed . We got to our hotel at midnight that night, the AC and fridge WAS NOT working. We spoke to the receptionist, Daniel, that night and they gave us 2 separate rooms for the night so we were moving rooms until 1:30 AM. The following day they expected us to move into one room once again. They were NOT being fair about the situation since this entire problem was their fault. Yassin, being the person helping us on Saturday morning was so rude, did not want to make an exception for us and the trouble they put us through. This man was full of attitude and was not accommodating to any of our needs. He had to call his Manager, Christopher, to make the decisions, and he was nice enough to let us keep the 2 rooms. During check out, again it was Yassin, before checking our file, he was charging us more than we should have paid and until we did not show proof of an email that stated the correct amount, we were going to be over charged. He also had the audacity to be mean, full of attitude, and say that "She's used to doing this everywhere she goes"... how DARE a receptionist say something like that to a PAYING guest. He was horrible. I have never had an experience like this staying at a hotel. Never again will I book with them. Save your money and go somewhere else.

My first impression of the Montgomery is not of refined luxury but 'charming, electic understated luxury'. The rooms are more like 'Old country home' rather than 'Modern millionaire's retreat'. It's the sort of decor that you have to love or hate, you can't be neutral. Dark green striped wallpaper and flowery bedspreads. The hallmarks of a top hotel are there, nice fluffy bathrobes and lots of soaps, shower caps, luxury bathroom. Expect to see bold red colours and greens in the decor of the rooms, very different from the usual cream coloured inoffensive decor of the top business chains. The restaurant is highly-recommended and frequented by Brussels' diplomats at lunchtime. Small and quaint, more 'relais et chateaux' than 'leading hotels'! Be warned: on the weekends there is a skeleton service and really you're left on your own so try not to have any service needs on the weekend - I learned that the hard way.

They said they have mussels. 2 of us tried them and it turned out to be worst experience ever. Did they even prepared them? I tried a veg burger ... my god, I think they just bought a cheap frozen burger from the supermarket to serve it. So I have only one advise: don't go to the restaurant !!!!!
