The exterior of the building was mostly made up of bricks, which looked nice. Some pubs were seen outside, but much of what to see was inside. The mall had two floors, and they were both not very big. If you were to walk around one level without stopping, you would be finished in a very, very short period of time. But what really grabbed my attention was the amount of decorations that was existent in here. There was a water fountain and tree in the center of the mall, some balloon-like light structures and a modeled airplane that hanged from the ceiling, and decorations that looked like books neatly placed on the shelf outside of the second floor library. All of that was quite appealing. Much of the stores here dealt with clothing, souvenirs, and gifts. They were quite pricey. They also had a luggage store and a mini mart. Those were pricey as well. Aside from the stores, they also had a museum (for a fee) and, located on the second floor, a library. Setting aside all of this, this mall also had some formal restaurants, which served pub food and/or seafood and steak. A small food court was also available, and that area served fried foods, coffee and pastries. How convenient for those who want to eat here. Okay, so the inside was appealing based on the decor, but what about the outside? Ahh, that was where the Waterfront Boardwalk came in. Outside the main building, it was a small walk that provided views of the water, as well as the cruise ship that you rode on. I enjoyed those views. The pubs were also located along the boardwalk as well. As I said before, this mall is very close by to the cruise ship terminal, as it was a short walk away. Alternatively, this mall could also be entered by an indoor pedestrian bridge from the Brunswick Square Shopping Center. I got a nice view of the street below as I walked from Market Square to Brunswick Square. Even though the shops here didn't appeal to me, the interior decor and waterfront views outside made my visit an enjoyable one. For this reason, I'm a fan. :)

Three floors, with art, science, literature, and a children's space, as well as plenty of New Brunswick history. My children spent three hours taking it in. On the top floor there is a play space for kids that was really well designed with a puppet theater, puzzles, art you can make, etc. The current myths exhibit on the ground floor was pretty incredible - my young kids went back for seconds, and it was enjoyable for my wife and I as well. There was no indigo or chapters and I am 44 years old now I've been able to read since I was five so for 39 years I've been buying books here. They have a wide selection of any kind of book you can imagine, with the exception of you know naughty stuff but through my years of ageing I know that I've gone from kids books to teenager books to young adult books every kind of book you can imagine I mean I like to read more than I like to watch TV there's something about a real book, smell of the pages and the ink. I think that plays a big role and putting you to sleep, when you read because when I read on my phone I don't get that. It's wrong as books are printed on paper. I will always buy them that way and this bookstore and I know I name three but they're all the same the best the absolute best, even when I lived in Toronto, I still went to chapters you get awesome deals awesome people that work there. I've never really had a problem with any employee so you got your customer service. You got your good deals and you got absolutely an unlimited amount of books and if you can't get your book in store well, you can get it online and have it delivered to the store for free, and if you order over a certain amount and gets $35, then they'll deliver it to your house for free. Either way you will get your book and at a reasonable price.

Yesterday, I had the very good fortune to talk with Jodi. She halped me with some information I was needing. When asked, she then took me to 3 books she highly recommended. We got into an in depth discussion re favourite books. She was very animated and eager to share her thoughts about her favourite books. I loved the experience and bought one of the books she recommended. When I went to the cash, I was speaking with the associate and she eagerly recommended a series of books I never would have known about had she not mentioned it. She directed me where to go in the store to find. It. I regret I forgot to get her name. I had a wonderful time browsing but these 2 women made my experience there even better by their service, their eagerness to recommend books and to discuss their plots, etc. I would highly recommend this store for many reasons and top of the list is the service from the associates. I love the personal touches like staff picks on the books with the associates name. I also love that each staff member has a features recommended book with a handwritten note of their comments for their choice. Ita a large store however the service and personal touches make it so enjoyable to go in store to browse and buy things and to I teract with the staff. Not this gs you can find when shopping online.

Small store in a nice…read moreplace The Sand Piper is a tiny, one room souvenir shop located right in the center of the village of St Martin. Obviously the location optimizes the amount of summer tourist traffic since many of the large tour buses from St John park right across the street from the Sand Piper. The one room is packed with stuff and I suspect the owners live upstairs in the quaint little house. The place is so small that much of the merchandise is placed outside in the nice weather. Much of the usual touristy stuff can be found here including jewelry, art, cute signs, books and of course the ubiquitous crummy t-shirts and other clothing. A few humorous items but nothing really in bad taste, this is one of the more artistic and enjoyable souvenir shop you will find. Most of the stuff is pretty cheap although some of the art and jewelry will set you back a few bucks. I ended up buying a couple of fun books on the local history and a nice crummy t-shirt. Yep, it's just a souvenir shop designed to catch the tourists visiting the area but it is a cool little place and it's difficult to walk out without finding at least something you will drag back home with you.

We came upon this little village area, and stopped at the small tourist center across the road from the shop. While there, I saw a wonderful children's book and asked the center representative if the author was local. He said she was and when I asked if they sold any of her books, he said the Sandpiper did. That was our next stop, and it was a little treasure. Yes, they could use more room, but the quaintness is one of the things that makes it unique. While looking at their items (and sure, some are "tourist" things, but many others represent the area locals) and if you're interested in children's books, be sure to check those sold here written by Heidi Jardine Stoddart. Each has a short message and signature written by the author, making them especially nice for a keepsake gift for a child. Heidi and her husband live in Rothesbay, NB. She is an elementary school teacher, and a talented artist who illustrates her own books. My great-nephew is getting two for Christmas this year! I'd return to this shop in a heartbeat, and wish we live closer to the area! It's beautiful there.

I enjoyed the tour (approx 20 min, $5 CD/USD) with the knowledgeable, friendly docent who took us through two stories of this well-preserved house (with a glimpse of the attic). The items in the house were explained by the docent, including the adjustable rope beds, the bed warmers, the kitchen tools and the portraits of the family. I left with a good impression of what life was like for the upper class in the early 1800's. Excellent!

The Merritt House is the oldest unchanged building in the city and now the Loyalist House, a museum depicting the way things were at this house almost 200 years ago. Guided tours (10-15 minutes) are given of two levels of this house and a peek of the attic. There are steep stairs in the house and up to the house, so a tour of this house is not wheelchair friendly. On Wednesdays through this summer, the Mayor's Tea is held in the Loyalist House. We happened to be touring on Wednesday and we're invited to tea with the museum staff. We enjoyed hot tea, fruit cake, cherry tarts, and zucchini bread over conversation with the staff and other guests. This was a great way to meet other people. Our Guidewas very informative touring the main level and upstairs level of the house. The Guide donned garb from the 1800s, but I don't think they made black Adidas shoes back then, hehe!! He did a good job answering all of our questions and sort of resembled the young man in the painting in the dining room. Overall we enjoyed this quick tour of the house.
