The…read morestaff and the leadership have a very clear focus on helping Seniors get the "movement" and the support that they need with exercise and nutrition programs. I have no association with this group, except that I so appreciate the things they are doing for people in Modesto. That's how I have to begin because this non-profit organization continues to give 110% to senior citizens in our community and they do it so well! I've attended the major events that they put on each year for a couple of years. The Age of Movement in May and their Healthy Aging Summit in October at the Center Plaza. This brings senior citizens, like me, together, and educate them, offer free services from vendors attending the shows, and always with the idea of bringing awareness to our community and love to our seniors. The management staff have done a remarkable job of keeping programs and activities for us going, despite many cuts in programs throughout our county. They have a limited staff, but they pull volunteers together for their big events, from those that just love what they're doing and want to help. If you don't know about this group, get to know them. Research them on Google, and get involved with them. They are one of our city's treasures. By getting involved you'll also get "back into action" and into health too. Thank you so very much Healthy Aging Assn. You guys rock! :-) healthyagingassociation..

For example. I was in a three car accident in town. It's not a large town and I don't know the number of officers on staff nor the number of calls they receive. I was told the day of my accident I would have the report within 7 - 10 days. Ok that is fair. I wait two weeks. I'm currently working with Insurance, Medical Bills, a lawyer, etc. all of which need the information. I go over to the PD and it's not ready. I was told to call back next week. So I wait another week and a half, so I call and it's not ready. A few more days go by so I leave a message for the officer on his voicemail to contact me on when it might get finished. I never received a call back. I realize it's not a major crime but my life has been disrupted and I need to give information to other parties. Long story... date of the Accident was 9/23/18 today is 11/7/18, and I was just able to get the report. As I'm waiting for the copy of the report I see the sign hanging that says it will take ten days which I included in my post. Again, I think this is fairly glaring. All I really needed was done communication back. It's pretty disappointing actually. My rating could be a lot lower but I respect the jobs of police and what they do.

It was dinner time and as people were sitting down at the table to eat we heard a snapping sound as…read moreone of the chairs was being scooted in. Upon further review, the front right leg of the chair had cracked at the top due to some over-tightened hex screws. A wave of thoughts came over me at that moment. I thought about having to ditch a completely good dining set all because one chair was ruined. I thought about trying to find a replacement of that chair, but being the set was 15 years old I figured that was next to impossible. I thought about just having a five-chair set even though the table is set up for six since we don't really host very often anyway. I was in a bit of a pickle and wasn't sure what I could do. Spending a ton of money on a new dining set over one bad leg just made me sick... I decided to call up the furniture store where I bought the set from just to see if I could order a new chair or have it repaired. They informed me they did not do repairs, but referred me to McCoy's Furniture Repair. This call may be the most important phone call I've made in months. I was greeted by a voicemail which informed me to leave a voicemail as Randy is often out on service calls and that he returns calls in the evening. I've heard this story before, but decided to leave a message anyway because I was desperate to see if I could get this fixed. Randy called me that evening and we set up a date/time window for him to come out and evaluate the situation. Randy showed up exactly when he said he would, and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the chair and was confident that he could repair and told me exactly what he was planning to do to fix it. He gave me a ballpark estimate which was very fair and I agreed to let him work his magic. A few days later, I got a call from Randy letting me know that he was done with the job and that it went according to plan. The final cost was right in the middle of the estimate window he provided. We set up a time for him to come back out and deliver our kitchen chair 2.0 (new and improved). Once again, Randy showed up exactly when he said he would and the chair looked great! The leg looked as if it had never had an issue to begin with and he went over what he did to make it secure. It felt like new again! Randy is the definition of professionalism and it was a pleasure dealing with him. He's a very honest person and I would not hesitate to go back to him for any future needs. The world needs more people like this and I'm glad I stumbled across one of them when I began my desperate journey to have the chair leg fixed. A+ service. A+ demeanor. A+ experience.
