Consilium Divorce Consultations - Heidi Webb, J.D, Ed.M.

Attorney Heidi Webb is fantastic. I looked her up after a prolonged, high conflict divorce on a…read morematter of child support, and she doesn't have that slick unapproachability of many professional family law practitioners. She was able to accommodate my schedule, and was sharp and intuitive. Unlike many people in the field, she seems genuinely interested in the emotional cost of a dissolution and seems to be mindful of that at all times. She's a veteran, and had many helpful insights for me. I only sat with her on a one-hour consultation, but it may have been the best money I've spent throughout this whole exhausting process. She was worth every penny, and didn't do anything resembling the usual family-law money grab type of thing. Sincere, informed and a true professional. I liked her immensely. One last thing that set her apart and above others I've had dealings with: She has all of the credentials (like a Harvard degree) to satisfy a person looking for that pedigree. But what I liked is she has a masters in education and I believe a background in psychology as well. The combination of these elements was incredibly comforting. I can recommend her without hesitation.

Heidi is the best! Use her…read more She is INDEPENDENT. She will not try to get you to prolong a case to make more money on fees like a lot of attorneys prosecuting a divorce will. She does not look at her customers and see dollar signs. She will also recommend the perfect attorney for you, that your spouse and attorney will respond well to, and that will not be some shady attorney that treats you like a case and not a person. The key thing about Heidi is that she can guide you through a divorce with only a few meetings, helping you along the painful path of divorce every step of the way. Listening to you, caring about your situation & issues, recommending attorneys that will work well for YOU, recommending how you should approach custody, assets, child support, alimony, etc., etc. I am so glad I decided to call her!!

Kajko, Weisman & Colasanti, LLP - This is what we received in the mail after AnnMarie helped us purchase our house. We're a gay couple. This is appalling.

She was absolutely fantastic, walking me through all of the complexities of the purchase. I have used her three times since then for real estate transactions, and she has never left me feeling confused or looked down on. She held my hands through panic (most memorably, the bats we found in my home a week before close and were told we could not legally evict for months!). Cynthia and her support team at the firm have always felt completely in my corner, responsive to my needs and questions, and respectful of me as a client. I would absolutely use them again.

Communication was reactive rather than proactive, and much of the time we had to chase updates or check the probate court docket ourselves. As first-time buyers, we needed more guidance and reassurance than we received. We also had issues with her paralegal, Stacey, who sent us an extremely rude and dismissive email that turned out to be wrong. This contributed to more preventable delays and costs, and Keira never addressed it with us. Keira's tone was often blunt, dismissive, and at times rude. For example, when my husband (who is an attorney but not a real estate attorney) asked her for her professional estimate based on her experience, she responded: "You're an attorney, you know that the court is unpredictable." That kind of remark was passive-aggressive and unhelpful, and it set the tone for much of our relationship with her. We also repeatedly asked her to communicate with us more proactively, but nothing ever changed. At closing, she asked us to sign two optional items we had opted out of earlier in the process. She said she needed to "check" to make sure we weren't being charged for them in the closing costs. I had already confirmed we weren't, and this is something her office should have caught when reviewing the final numbers. Instead, it created more unnecessary confusion at the table. Keira's style of communication made an already stressful process much harder than it needed to be. Edit: I have gone back and updated my review. After posting this review, the managing partner, Peter Kajko, personally reached out to us. He was kind, heartfelt, and genuinely listened to our concerns. He acknowledged our frustrations, explained the firm's perspective, and took the time to make sure we felt heard. While our experience with Keira was disappointing, we truly appreciated Peter's professionalism and sincerity in addressing the situation
