Absolutely diabolical service. I didn't want parcels delivered to my home address so I decided to register for motel. I have verified my virtual address. I have yet to receive anything through my parcel motel account despite waiting for 3 separate deliveries. All 3 deliveries were personal packages from non company individuals but none arrived. I am waiting 2 weeks for one, one that was sent 5 days ago is showing on the account but is still on route. The other sent 2 days ago is nowhere to be seen. An Post far quicker....carrier pigeon probably even quicker....very disappointed Tracking IDs are used by companies but not so much by individuals so its hard to trace....I think I will quit while ahead and cancel account read more

DO NOT ADD YOUR CREDIT CARD TO THE ACCOUNT, WHEN THEY ASK YOU TO IN ORDER TO REFUND YOU - IT'S A SCAM!! They asked me add my card to my parcel motel account so that they can refund the remaining funds since they are shutting down the service. Instead of providing refund they stole more money from my card without any authorisation! No reply to emails, nobody answers the phone. Thieves! The worst experience I have ever had with a company. The details on parcel motels website refer to a UPS run email and phone number yet UPS deny's to take any responsibility. Kept failing to deliver, sent messages to receiver looking for money even though label was paid. I was blatantly lied to on the phone several times. UPS didn't want to know about it, referred me to the parcel motel number which has automated message saying ring UPS. It's a merry go round, with horrific customer service. Please for your sanity do not use parcel motel or UPS. I know parcel motel is slightly cheaper but I promise you it is not worth it. They also don't compensate unless you have an invoice for the item so if you sell second hand and they lose it your screwed. read more

I ordered a gold tiepin for a Father's day present. It was marked by customs as jewellery and went 'missing' from the Parcel Motel offices. It took over three months to get a refund from them after numerous calls. I was told on every occasion that paypal refunds had to be done by the General Manager Orla Shiels and that  there was a considerable backlog of them. To my mind, this indicates to me that Ms Shiels just didnt want to take the time out of her day to sit down and do them. Given how items of value were going 'missing', senior management obviously don't trust any member of their staff to carry out this simple procedure. I should point out that all of the staff who answered the customer care line were very pleasant and professional...such a pity that they are being let down so badly by senior management. Overall, I think this is a disgusting way to treat people during a crisis such as this when so many Irish families are struggling financially. Wish I hadn't bothered. Had something delivered there in case I was away. Turned out (not their fault, but the only bit that wasn't) that I was still away by the time it expired. 48 hours to process and send back out, they claimed. Even allowing for a bank holiday, more than a week has passed and it's stuck in the system with no processing having taken place. No movement for several days now. I have used Parcel Motel for years, previously their service was excellent, however, recently they have been nothing but trouble. I was having problems logging into my account and the "reset password" link was not working, (note that I had not forgotten my password but I could not log in so decided to reset password). After searching online I eventually found a contact number that was in use (01-8835400) as the phone number on their website is no longer in service. When I reached customer service they were extremely unhelpful and I was told all they can do is log a issue with IT and call me back - I heard nothing back for c2months. I received a notification that a parcel was received but I had insufficient funds on my account and needed to top up, I tried to log in once again and had the same problems. I called again and I was told the same thing about having to log an issue with IT, when I asked if I could get a reference number for the issue with IT I was told there was none it was just internal mail. I asked if they could help me to top up my account so that I can get my parcel - they could not. I have to wait for IT to respond, in the meantime my parcel (worth €600) is sitting in the Parcel Motel Warehouse and will stay there for 30 days before it is sent back to the retailer. read more

Called to pick up and item and I got an empty locker when I opened- my parcel wasn't there as expected. Turns out it was incorrectly delivered/got stuck to another parcel and they had to use CCTV to find where my item had gone. Called and emailed them as its now over two weeks and still NO REPONSE. This was supposed to be "escalated to a supervisor" and still nothing. How do companies get away with acting like this? They have sent my property elsewhere and I dont even know who has my personal information and they haven't even apologised.........from my experience a truly awful company to deal with if things go wrong.. If I could give zero stars I would. Have used Parcel Motel for a couple of... Have used Parcel Motel for a couple of years with no problem, in the last couple of months I have been ordering dog food from the UK 15kg bag. They have delivered the bag to the lockers with no problem but lately when it suits them they text me saying the parcel is oversized and to collect it in the depot. This seems to be random the same 15kg bag next month will be delivered to the lockers with no problem and this is the way things have gone for the last couple of deliveries customer service is nonexistent and the staff are rude with no answer why this happens I am going to try AddressPal from An Post. read more

I love Parcel Motel, there I've said it. I've used them about seven times now and I have two more deliveries due to arrive any day now. I had a bit of a heart stopping moment today whereby my new phone was, according to UPS tracking, "Refused by Customer" at the Parcel Motel depot in Newtonabbey. WHAT THE #$%&!! I phoned Parcel Motel and spoke with Andy about it. He helped solve the mystery of why my packaged was not delivered to them today (the UPS man wouldn't wait while they took care of another delivery, the cheek of him). So my fears allayed, Andy was really friendly on the phone and very helpful. Other reasons Parcel Motel is great: 1. You can collect your parcel from your nearest Parcel Motel locker at a time that suits you. 2. You can now buy items that are delivered within the UK only. 3. When buying an item that has free UK delivery but a huge delivery charge to Ireland? Use Parcel Motel and it will only cost you 3.50 EUR to have delivered. 4. They some times give you a free gift of a bathrobe and slippers - I've seen the pictures! From when you get the notification text, you get 48 hours collect your parcel, after that they will charge you another 3.50 EUR each night your parcel stays. read more

You may have noticed the green and blue metal containers that have popped up in a number of Leinster-area petrol stations lately: Parcel Motels. They're taking the most stressful part of online shopping: the delivery, making it a lot easier to manage, and trying to turn a profit doing so. Basically, instead of having your online purchases delivered to your house, you get them delivered to Parcel Motel, who then drop them to one of their locations. They send you a text, and you collect at your leisure, like some sort of lazy Cold War-era spy. It costs €3.50 per re-up, and you get €7 free credit when you sign up. One of the handier features is that they have a UK delivery address. That means if the site your buying on offers free UK shipping, you can avail of it too, with the only cost being what you pay Parcel Motel. A lot of sites have very expensive shipping to Ireland, so even after Parcel Motel get their cut, you still save a few quid. My only issue is that there still isn't a critical mass of locations yet, hopefully they can expand quickly. Still though, highly recommended for people who do a lot of online shopping. read more

Hidden charges, no accountability. Was happy with them until I was charged €9 for being on hold, after they failed to reply to 3 emails. To clarify - my parcel was held by customs and I was following up after it had been released. I allowed 3 days after each email. No response. I rang, call went to hold, after 15 minutes waiting, I hung up. I repeated this 2 more times. On the 3rd call, I got a human after about 10 mins. The total charge for these calls was €9. They stated that the max wait time would be 5 working days, but that appears to be from when they read the email that I sent to support@parcelmotel.com. Most frustrating experience I have ever had with a delivery company. I chose to try to send a small letter sized package via Parcel Motel from Dublin to Belfast, thinking it would offer a quick and convenient service. I left the package at the parcel motel on a Saturday, they didn't pick the package up until Monday afternoon. That is the last I heard of that package - it never made it to its destination and there have been no further updates. That's where the really poor service begins. I submitted a support request on the Parcel Motel website 6 days after having left the package with them. They ignored this request for information. 9 days later I sent an email requesting the information and referring to my request. I did not receive a reply to this email but I did receive an automated email telling me that they had closed my request and offering some troubleshooting advice which was aboslutely nothing to do with my issue. I sent a further email that evening, this was ignored. The next afternoon (10 days since sending) I went to the nightline website (parent company) and found a telephone number to call. I was on hold for 30 minutes. When I finally got to talk to somebody, she couldn't tell me what had happened. I stayed on the line while she checked with the Operations Manager, she returned to tell me he was on his lunch break but that she had checked for the package herself but couldn't see anything. She assured me she would look into it and call me back and send an email to confirm our conversation. It is now 11 days since sending, I have not received a phonecall in return nor have I received an email as promised. So I have paid €6.50 for Parcel Motel to give me the complete runaround. I am so frustrated by their complete lack of customer service. read more

Terrible service for those who want to use a location near the office. No flexibility. FYI the hard to find customer support number I got from the motel was 1890 241717. Package delivered at 21:40 on a Fri and expired at 21:40 on a Sun. No way to extend it so that I could collect on a Mon. I called first thing Monday when the box would not open and was told it will take another 48hrs to reprocess. At this stage the package was still in the box beside me. They could not remotely open the box when I was on the phone to customer service. Nor could they escalate my complaint. Will be too late for my anniversary now. I have used the service for years but this is a terrible flaw. I couldn't use it again in case this situation reoccurred. Collection times should be extended in these circumstances. I have 2 really bad experiences with Parcel Motel. The first one was that my parcel arrived in pieces and the second one was that apparently my parcel arrived without the PM number ( Fair enough , not their fault ). They then sent it to a customer with the same name as me. The lad in customer service eventually got it back, he said he would send it onto me but never did. After a few more emails I got a mail to say sorry it got delayed due to the Amazon sale ( Not true because he had already said he had it) I contacted him again to ask was there any update and this time he told me that I had already collected the parcel. I rang the depot but he was not there. Luckily enough I got a really helpful girl who was able to sort out the issue in 3 minutes, the lad couldn't sort it out in 12 days. Worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Lost my packages, refused to answer customer support messages, wouldn't answer the phone. I had to resort to social media to get ANY response - on multiple occasions. Yeah, avoid. Packages take 2 days longer once they arrive at their first port of call, then they go to your designated motel. That is of course if the motel is functioning, and not damaged as the one in sandyford was. I had to ask support for that information, as it had been 4 days since I'd heard my package was on the way and heard nothing. But the mention of support is where my 1 star rating is coming from. ALL queries will take a *minimum* of one day to respond to. The query will also get bounced between a few people. When your package is lost (as my girlfriends christmas present was, my fault for trusting them) they will take 2 weeks to confirm it's not there and then begin the claims process, which takes a minimum of 30 days. Fun fact, today is the 30th day and I still haven't received my claim yet - they're "looking into it" right now. In short, it's worth paying the fees to get stuff shipped from England. It costs a little more, but you get it quicker. Oh, and you actually get it. read more

For sending parcels to the UK I strongly advise against using Parcel Motel. I have sent an item in the past, and the securely wrapped parcel had been opened and crushed. I recently sent a parcel from Ireland to Scotland - well, not so recently, and it has still not arrived. Parcel motel are great for sending items nationally - or my experience has been good. For sending abroad is a different matter - use the post office, or a courier directly - somewhere that items can be tracked with, and where there can be a good indication of the time taken for delivery. I use Parcel Motel as I am able to track the items on a stage by stage basis. In my most recently sent package this was not the case. The package was sent onto another company for delivery in the UK - I have no problem with this. My issue lies in that at 11 days later this has still not been delivered. When I contacted Parcel Motel support they gave me a reference for the tracking with the UK based courier service - I was unable to use this on their website. I was sent a link to the other company website, with the tracking. The progress was not updated, and it is not possible to track the package. I was informed I would receive an update. 24 hours after logging my issue, and the package has still not been located. I contacted support again, and was told it may take up to 48 hours to locate the package in the depot. I could have been told this at the time. I was not sent an update. This was labelled as per Parcel Motel standards, and packaged securely. I am extremely disappointed that firstly I was told to contact the other company directly - I should assume that as I am using their delivery service, they would relate updates back to me; and secondly that it is not possible for either Parcel Motel or myself to track the package sent with the other courier service. I needed to follow up on the confirmation. Here is a summary of my experience with support: 1 - when I contacted Parcel Motel I was told to contact the courier service in the UK directly 2 - the tracking on my parcel motel account does not track the parcel sent in this instance 3 - the parcel was not logged on leaving the depot in Ireland, and could not be tracked 4 - I was told I would be contacted with an update - 24 hours later I was told it would be within 48 hours - I could have been told that at the time 5 - after 48 hours I had to make contact 6 - I was told I would get a call about this, and have not to date received one They have confirmed that the parcel is lost, and I am awaiting on the next stage. read more

2 separate issues: 1. I ordered 2 identical items from amazon. One came to my Cornelscourt location as desired, the other was forwarded to your Finglas warehouse due to package being 'over-sized'. This caused the second identical package to be late; required us to drive to North side with tolls, petrol, time, etc.; and an extra charge was placed on this by ParcelMotel for an identical package that was already delivered to our normal location. 2. We ordered another item (a child's Christmas toy that was desperately needed BEFORE Christmas) from amazon. The shippers made three attempts before Christmas at the ParcelMotel exchange branch in Newry without success. ParcelMotel finally received the package on Dec 22nd, but did attempt to deliver it until Dec 29th at our local collection facility! Again, we were charged extra for this by ParcelMotel due to the fact that we were no longer in town at that particular date and unable to collect this way too tardy package. I've been using ParcelMotel for quite some time now and they used to be a great service. Don't think that I will use them again! read more

Terrible terrible customer service. The have accidentally delivered a parcel belonging to someone else to me, but they are impossible to contact to tell them so! I cant start a "support ticket" with them as i would need to know the email of the person the parcel actually belongs to ? How am i supposed to know that? Their is no customer service phone number on their support page, when i finally located a customer service number on their parent company's web page (niteline - you only find out that its also a parcel motel support number when you call it!) I spent ages on hold (after playing the press the number customer support menu game) only to be put through to a message box. So to summarize, parcel motel delivered a parcel to the WRONG people and have made it impossible for me to tell them that they have made a mistake. The material in the parcel looks like its destined for a businesses Christmas trade , so is probably time sensitive , and yet I cant do anything about it back to them, apart form leaving a message in a voice mail box and hoping someone will contact me at some point. I have also signed up for adresspal from the post office same price but your not under presure to colect your parcel in 48 hours. You have 5 days as far as i know. What a great service! I use it all the time buying from Ebay UK and Amazon. Cost is same as UK post as parcel goes to Northern Ireland and is so quickly delivered to Dublin depot and on to your chosen local Parcel Motel for collection. A pin no. Is sent to you to open locker and you have 48 hrs to pick it up. All they charge is €3.99 for this service. Well worth it as sellers can charge a fortune in stg to ship from UK to Ireland and with the rate of exchange these days, makes a big difference. I have been a member for 6 months, and at the start they where good,but recently I have been receiving the parcels up to two weeks after been delivered by amazon, they also charged me €21 for an oversized parce which their website said should have been €7 and more recently when I went to the lockers mine was empty. All of which is probably explainable if you could get an answer form customer care, I have made 4 enquiries and according to them they have all been solved but I have only once ever got a response from them, I am in the process of finding a new company to deliver my parcels read more

They sent me someone else's suff and woudn't answer the support number or tickets I logged via Zendesk. Also they delay deliveries chancing you won't complain. I have used Parcel Motel for almost 2 years. Delivery is usually fast and secure and if I had written this review 6 months ago it would have been all positive. However lately there have been some issues to change my opinion. 1. I moved house and realised that collection points are not that plentiful. I was simply lucky to have one so close to me before. The nearest collection to me now is 20 mins drive away. I contacted Parcel Motel to see if they would consider adding a more convenient collection point in the area since it is heavily populated, but they turned it down. 2. Deliveries tend to arrive in the middle of the night, around 2am, so your time limit to collect it starts ticking from that point, and not from a reasonable time like 9am the next morning, so 6 hours have passed before you even find out it has arrived. 3. Deliveries can come on weekends, so if you have selected a collection point close to work and it arrives on Friday night, you're out of luck. Or you have to make a huge commute. This could be resolved by having more fine-grained collection point options and schedules, but it is very basic - 1 collection point, and it can take 2 days to change it. 4. If a delivery is not collected and expires it is meant to be be sent out again within 48 hours. After a week of waiting one of mine was still not re-sent. 5. Seriously undermanned support service. They have a support number but do not give this anywhere on their website. Presumably because they have minimal customer support staff. There is meant to be online support chat on their website, but it is usually offline. Using the online query form is meant to get a response within 24 hours, but this does not happen. If you manage to find their telephone number you can expect wait times of 10+ minutes for about 30 seconds of help. So I am not sure if this downward trend is just my bad luck or if something is happening within their business. The convenience and value they once offered is not as good as before. I am using them noticeably less than before and if there is any more price increases or hiccups in the service I will probably stop using them for good. read more
