You have to pay for all-day parking and you can leave and come back as many times as you want during that date. The views are spectacular; you have a great view of Québec City and Île d'Orleans and the falls view is beautiful. Walking on the suspended bridge and enjoying the the views is so worth it. Unfortunately we visited on a rainy weekday day, and we couldn't enjoy the zip lines; also, it's only available on weekends.

The building at the ground-level main entrance offered a small gift shop and a snack bar. From there, you could either climb an insane amount of stairs to the crest or take a cable car. I was tight on time, so I took the cable car in both directions. It was a brief, peaceful ride that moved VERY slowly. Once we arrived at the top, there was basically a standard park. It had a small "garden" that was really just a few rows of flowers, a very nice gift shop of high-end and unique items, a restaurant with an outdoor terrace, and simply your standard park greenery. There was a cool "suspension" bridge over the top of the Falls, but it was made of heavy concrete, rather than some rickety old planks, so it was not as scary as it sounded. All in all, I thought the Montmorency Falls and the incredibly picturesque views were spectacular, but, otherwise, the Parc itself was really not that unusual. If you rode the cable cars instead of climbing the stairs, I really do not think you would need more than an hour there.

The park was peaceful and quiet, with a few brave souls out cross‑country skiing and practicing their downhill skills--such a classic Québec winter scene. We took the stairs down toward the river, and the view from the top was absolutely worth it. The St. Lawrence River looks stunning framed by all that snow and open sky. For anyone interested in the historical side of the Plains, it's probably best to return once the snow has melted so you can explore the grounds more fully. But for a serene winter walk and beautiful scenery, this place is magical.

There are two ways to get to Pierre-Dugua-De Mons Terrace. The first is to walk across Dufferin Terrace to the end of the wooden slide runs. The second is to walk up from Avenue Saint-Denis. Any photo you take at the terrace, no matter the season or the time of day, would be as pretty as a postcard. Go for a stroll along the walls of the Citadel located next to the terrace. The view here encompasses many of Quebec's famous sites: On the left, there is the eminent Chateau Frontenac, a luxury hotel built to attract visitors from around the world; in the center, there is the historic Quebec old town, a UNESCO world heritage site; and on the right is the St Lawrence river, dominating the landscape and dotted with the occasional cruise ship to bring people from far-flung lands into the city.

I think there's about 400 plus steps one way. I would recommend you come here after 5pm when the parking attendants are gone so that you don't have to pay to get in. We made the mistake of parking at the bottom lot, not knowing about this upper lot until later when I ddi some more digging on Yelp that this one existed. We had to pay about $13.50 pp. If you come here after 5pm, you'll have very nice sunset/night shots of the waterfall and anything below.

You can also spend a half day taking your time sitting to enjoy views, having lunch and experiencing cable car or zip line. Kind of nice depending on your schedule to have the flexibility without feeling FOMO. We stayed about 2 hours, plenty of time to explore the Manor, soak in some views and do about half of the big stair case. Late May the zip line and cable car was busy. Zip line looked fun but would eat up a lot of time, especially the back and forth from one side of the gorge to the other for equipment. Not the most efficient setup. Entry fee is super confusing, the info online is not consistent. We took an Uber to the gate and were charged an entry fee, like $20 per person. However others in the park and our Uber driver said it was always free. Not sure if it's a resident thing or admission changed over last year or so. Worth a visit, I'd recommend a couple hours and using the rest of your time at Quebec City depending on your timeline.

We first weren't going to walk over uneven rock's all the way to the falls because it was getting late, but my boys were way ahead and wouldn't stop when we yelled for them to return, so we ended up following them and I'm glad we did. When I arrived around the corner, there were 3 more falls behind the tall rock formation, hidden in a nook so maybe you can see if from the right side of the bridge or the wooden walk, but you can't take a great panoramic picture of all of at once. It was spectacular to see different waterfall formations altogether up close. However, be careful because some parts can be slippery and you need a lot of balance to walk on the rocks. A friend of mine scraped his leg tripping over the rocks, so going to the bridge may be a better option for those who can't make the trip to the falls. People also fish near the falls and saw huge fish in a bucket. There 's a lot of free parking at the waterfall area, a concession stand that sells icecream, slushies and drinks that close at 7pm (that barely spoke english, so i'm glad i had my son to help order in french) and a restroom before going to the falls.

However, given that this is a "natural attraction" I was very disappointed that the otherwise lovely boardwalk was infested with many invasive species, like Japanese Knotweed. I think when making nature the focus of an attraction, it should be protected better than seems to be the case, at least along the boardwalk. Also of note .. you can easily take the funicular down and up to avoid much walking if need be. Clean facilities at the bottom and top.
