3/5 for many reasons. First off I'd like to start by saying my experience at paramount was in December 2024. I've remained sober from drinking & was blessed to get pregnant in 2025 and my husband and I welcomed a beautiful healthy baby girl, that wouldn't have happened without the staff at paramount, forever grateful for the experience and care I received. I was debating on this review for over a year, but now im sharing my experience Enrolling with paramount 0/10 When we looked into care my husband was talking with James who stated during my time there he would be getting updates on me, being able to talk to me once I moved up to residency and also stated my insurance was covered and in network. I was not in the right state to clarify this at the time myself to the staff members before my arrival. My husband was told false information and told him what he wanted to hear so they could get me in ASAP. We knew nothing about rehab centers as this was the first time for myself and anyone in the family. We believed everything we heard. New patient screening 0/10 When I got to paramount the nurse on was a male nurse and the CCC who was on shift that night she was female. The nurse did my body check and was fully exposed in front of a male stranger, it was extremely uncomfortable. I eventually brought this to the attention of the director Cassandra and nothing was done and was brushed under the rug, to avoid any type of sexual harassment or law suit, Rooming experience 8/10 I got my own room during detox and residency. The rooms were spacious with a lot of storage, comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms and showers. Rating 8/10 as my original room had a plumbing issue and we had to move rooms. Food: 10/10 !!! One of the best things about this place. Group/1:1 therapy 7/10 towards the end of my stay the curriculum tended to repeat for the new comers. Lack of communication on what was mandatory and what wasn't. One class was not mandatory "morning moment" and became mandatory one day and I got in trouble for being late. You would meet with the director or this other woman who is no longer there and ask how the experience was, nothing would change from it and if you voiced your opinion which was negative they would be combative and talk down on you. 1:1 therapist actually caused many issues in my relationship not helped and said if I didn't do PHP Id go back to drinking. I'm thriving in my relationship by the way & still sober Other issues: Since my husband was misinformed at the beginning regarding phone calls. He called multiple times to try and talk to someone about what's going on. He was extremely frustrated as staff members would take messages but no calls back, this went on for weeks. He googled the director to try and find an additional number or direct extension and ended up getting her cell. Despite me not knowing any of this at the time, I got "punished" and got my visitation and phone calls taken away at my last week. Very unprofessional and the upper management avoided me until I left. It literally caused unnecessary drama lol Everything else, the staff members, CCCs, activities 10/10 they really made the experience something I'll never forget. It helped shape who I am today and gathered all my knowledge for the "tools in the toolbox" I carry with me today and everyday. read more

A loved one recently struggled with substance abuse, and was recommended Paramount through a friend to detox. They couldn't have had a better experience. Going into detox is scary and full of unknowns, but James made the process crystal-clear and made my loved one feel super comfortable going in. In addition to the medical aspects of detox, they also received therapy and a case worker dedicated to helping them recover and work through the root causes of their addiction. A special shoutout to Kayla and Dr. James on that front! As an aside, not the purpose of going into detox whatsoever--but they had nothing but great things to say about the food! Trust that you (or your loved one) will be well-fed. Recovery isn't linear. However, I know that my loved one is off to a great start thanks to all of the support they received at Paramount! 0 stars if possible. Left before completion within the last month. If you aren't onboard with their aftercare plan meaning PHP or IOP (for their referral income $$$) you and your loved ones will be pressured into staying for an extra 2 weeks (and an extra billing to your insurance $$$). My partner was TOLD to threaten kicking me out of the house if I didn't stay for an extra 2 weeks, trying to manipulate my partner into believing this was in MY best interest. (Not their financial best interest...) Further, if you speak up for any alternative aftercare treatment, you will be stigmatized and shuffled out the door as soon as possible. (As I was). There is more concern for profitability than care, reflected by these sleazy income-generating schemes AND also chronic understaffing. In my 3 weeks experience there, 1) one nurse physically intimidated and nearly attacked a client and on another instance; 2) the ONLY tech overseeing the clients after hours had a medical issue leaving the clients unsupervised for nearly an hour, during which 3) a physical altercation occurred between two clients requiring an ADDITIONAL ambulance and state troopers to show up at the facility. This place is a clown show, run by severely under-qualified/under-experienced management who collectively view and treat clients as maladjusted income streams rather than human beings in need of care and healing. Don't believe the shiny facility, pretty photos and sweet nothings uttered by staff - this place is likely to be more harmful than helpful to yourself or your loved one. read more

I am the wife. I was left stranded.Parsmount would not allow any contact with my husband. He is physically injured and will not let me see or speak to my legal husband. He has a severe head injury..ihave been completely left locked out of both of my homes. The said in text Your key is in your carriage house. Had to sleep Iin my car 2 nights.i am handicapped. Paramount and the staff changed my world!! The care and support I got from the moment I walked through their doors, scared to begin my new chapter, will last and be cherished for the rest of my life. They even offer scholarships for those in need! I made amazing connections with staff and peers that I'll never forget. My relationships with staff and peers from Paramount are the bedrock of my recovery. Staff makes sure everyone is respectful and considerate of peers. When my life took a hard left days before my discharge, CC made sure I wasn't going anywhere other than a place that is healthy and where I am wanted. Five stars for Paramount Wellness Retreat. I spent five days at this top notch detox facility in CT at the end of July 2025. The facility is well run, organized, clean and comfortable. My bedroom had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable and clean. I was able to control the temperature in the room. Having my own bathroom and wide screen TV with so many streaming options made the process so much better and relaxing for me as I wanted a lot quiet comfort and alone time to recuperate. The staff was especially friendly, caring, professional, personal, and quick to respond to my every need. From the nurses and doctors to the techs, chefs who prepared delicious and plentiful meals morning noon, and night, Paramount goes above and beyond most places. The medical care was comprehensive and administered with timely care and precision. Admissions and aftercare facilitators provided seamless services and listened carefully to my needs. Personalized follow-up phone calls and texts and words of friendly encouragement weeks after my discharged were nice! read more

Look at the reviews on Yelp & Indeed, where Paramount can't inflate their ratings, and then compare those to their Google Reviews LOL. WHAT A JOKE! The place will swindle you on the phone w/ their "Individualized Treatment" and "Luxury Facility," and charges top dollar, but they're incredibly misleading.. The treatment is lackluster. The activities are scarce. Always short-staffed. Director is a condescending dictator that will suck-up to you if you plan on going to their "Aftercare" (kickback $$) but show her true nature if try to have any say in the matter. the place is an underwhelming, unorganized disaster. but hey.. at least it looks pretty in the photos? read more

We chose paramount wellness center for my brother to enter a 12 step program 30 day intreatment facility and it was the best decision we have made by far, even though it was 3 hours from our house but it was the best place that we visited, from the staff to the sleeping environment to the private chef that took care of him, I would like to thank His Clinicians for all the support that he had while he was in there, I want to thank Shana, CC, Elisha, Taylor, Genie, And many more to list for making sure he got the best treatment and engaging in all groups to help him understand his addiction, Highly Recommended for anyone thats confused about choosing the right place, Look no further read more

As a mental health provider in the community, I have referred clients to this organization after having toured their lovely facility. Each client has reported getting a great deal out of their stay, and enjoying the highly professional, welcoming, and engaging staff. While none would prefer to ever need such a service again, each stated that if he or she needed such a service, they would want to go back to Paramount. We were promised the best care for a family member and once they were in the facility we received virtually no communication from any staff . Multiple calls were never returned and different excuses were forthcoming regarding these broken promises. Nice looking facility but if I could give them a zero I would. There is a very serious disconnect between patient care and family well being. The program manager was also condescending and rude. I would not personally recommend this place to anyone. read more

Gave 3 stars on Google, but.. place is great compared to state run facilities. Doesn't hold a candle to retreat tho lol. Or mountainside even. Comfy stay but mad boring. Staff is cool but always seemed busy. Cud probly use more hands on deck. No pool, iv therapy, acupuncture, 12 step, & all AA is virtual. Can't go outside without a babysitter. Still way better than Stonington, but they lose points for being pricey & they have a pic of friggin TURNBRIDGE in their photos lmao. read more

if you are a loving caring and concerned family member sending someone here you'll be left in the dark no phone calls made to you along with James who will tell you what ever it is you want to hear just to get you onboard and agree to send your family members there... he told me I need to work on my own problems while I was calling looking for an update on my wife after she missed her time slot to make a phone call also as a family member of the client going you'll be reminded that you are not the client and that the person there is the only person they are concerned with .... the attitude in the start was great I felt I'd be updated and involved in my wife recovery..... that's all bs I only get one phone call more then 2 weeks in... on top of that they have male nurses doing body checks on female patients and females checking males ..... btw good luck calling the only person to ever answer a phone there is the nurse in detox and they will only pass your message on.... this place may help people but they have shown they are only in it for the money.... James is nothing more then a salesman.... Send your family member somewhere you'll be involved in their recovery rather then left in the dark..... i was there about 4 months ago and this was one of the worst experiences I've had in my life. the website is heavily misleading and a certain male staff member very often came into women's bedrooms/bathrooms without knocking. this staff member also often closed the door while he was in the women's bedrooms without asking if it was okay, and would sit in bed with them while touching their arms/shoulders/face. it made me very very uncomfortable. the counseling/therapy is also very dodgy. one of the counselors would be on his phone texting other people during sessions. I was also put on a medication that I should not have been put on and they didnt warn me of the side effects before giving it to me, which has caused me quite a few health issues (tachycardia and ovarian cysts) as well as severe anxiety. ALL OF THIS BEING SAID, there are good things about the place: the beds are comfy, you get your own TV, and most of the nursing staff and CNAs are so so kind and truly care about the well being of the residents. read more
