I love talking to all of the artisans and my friend and I enjoyed seeing some of the "attractions", like a sheep shearing demonstration. This is one of the very unique Vermont traditions that I'm glad to have experienced during the two years I am living here. If you're interested, they also have some on-site workshops for attendees. I have not participated in one so I can't review them. They also have limited concessions available (Hot Dogs, Flatbread, and Coffee/Hot Chocolate, etc.). Overall, I had a very nice day there and is definitely one of the events that makes Vermont truly unique.

The festival was located on Center St. and Merchants Row. Free parking can be found on street. There were many tents with bakers sharing their Whoopie Pie samples. Festival goers will need to purchase tickets to be able to get samples from each Whoopie Pie booth. They will then vote which one they liked best. The awards will be given to the bakers based on their Whoopie pies; there are three categories, Overall Best, People's Choice Award, and Most Creative. The booths will have whoopie pies and baked goods for purchase. There were many events happening throughout. They had box car racing where creatively made "cars" would cruise down the hill. There were bouncy houses, live performances, food trucks, family activities, and a cotton candy vendor. There were bakers making the largest Whoopie Pie in Rutland. They even had turf placed on the street with blocks, Cornhole, and other games for the kids. I've had so many samples and my favorites were the caramel apple whoopie and the pumpkin maple whoopie pie. The turnout was great; there were approximately 4500 people there; it definitely got crowded and hard to walk through at times. Overall, a fun event especially for those who love whoopie pies!

I especially loved the butter demonstration and getting to make our own butter! A special shoutout to the wonderful woman from Wales who guided us through the butter making experience. She was absolutely amazing! So incredibly kind, welcoming, knowledgeable and genuinely made the experience that much more memorable. There's something so special about a place that makes you appreciate the simple things in life. I never imagined I'd have this much fun learning about farm life, tasting delicious local products, and making butter, but here we are. Such a charming, wholesome little Vermont experience. I would absolutely recommend stopping here! And Dazzle, I love you so much

We visited Billings Farm because it kept coming up as a must-see stop on our New England road trip…read more I don't like leaving negative reviews, but with 4 teenage kids, the experience was very underwhelming. The highlight was definitely the baby calves, so be sure to time your visit since that area is only open during certain hours. You can only pet two of the milk cows in the barn, and beyond that there were a few horses, pigs, sheep, and chickens. It felt more like a large petting zoo than a destination worth the admission price. For our family of six, it cost over $100 to visit, which didn't feel like a good value. We have very similar farms in California that are either free or only a few dollars to enter. If you have very young children, it might be worth a visit, but for adults or families with older kids, I wouldn't recommend it.

We parked in the lot, got out and could already hear sounds from some displays outside the building. Although I'm not a Trekkie, I watched the show many times as I grew up. My first good experience was before I even started the guided tour, I was told the tour guide was going to carry a folding chair so if needed I could sit. I'm handicapped with a bad back and can't stand for long. The tour began with some explanations about the set, how it's constructed and all the work that went into putting this together. Then we were shown the infamous hallway, various rooms like sickbay, offices and bedrooms. A lot of the items on shelves were from the original set. When we got to the engine room I knew we were close to the "Control Room" and I started getting really excited. Throughout the tour, the guide explained all kinds of details concerning each room, then we could take as many photos as we wanted. Finally we reached the Control Room and it didn't let us down! There in the center was the Captains Chair! And I actually got to sit in it for pictures. William Shatner sat in that chair just 4 days prior and I could feel his presence in the chair.... I now understand why it's almost a full 5 star rating from YELP. The tour takes about an hour, there is a small gift shop and the staff are beyond excited to talk about the show and its secrets. If you're anywhere near Ticonderoga, or in the North East, take the time to enjoy a trip on the Enterprise and go where no man has gone before. Scotty will beam you up!
