I've just recently started working with Andy and I have nothing, but positive feedback. Honest, transparent and passionate are perhaps the words most befitting. In this hobby and/or "business", there is a lot of deception, smoke and mirrors, and flat out unethical behavior. However, people like Andy are the most redeeming individuals to help quell this truism . His professionalism is a quality that sets him above all else. Andy is an effective commmunicator and a highly competent numismatist. I look at the negative reviews and scoff slightly, because nothing could be farther from the truth. A simple email or phone call will confirm all that I've said. But don't trust me, go ahead and see for yourself. I truly believe that you will be amazed at what amount of humanity and morality exist in the numismatic space and a large part is thanks to Andy. Good day to you sir read more

I've bought and sold a number of coins from Andy over the years. He is very knowledgeable and fair when it comes to his coins. I learn something new every time I visit him. I've referred several people to him regarding collections and everyone felt he gave them a fair appraisal and price. read more

I haven't even gone in the store just called to see if I would need an appointment. But it already felt like a bad experience. The person who answered the phone asked me what kind of coins and I tried to tell him I'm not too sure I don't have them on me right now. Yet some how he was already giving me price quotes for my coins. I told him I had the same coins brought some where else and got doubled of what he just told me. I don't got time for games so I just just thx and hung up. If it's your job pls love it or get a new one don't rob people read more

Extremely rude gentleman. Wouldn't let us into his office, refused to even look at the very rare coins we had. Spoke 100 miles a minute, just a very bad experience. I cannot recommend visiting this place. Take your coins to a reputable person or dealer who has more experience dealing with people. It seemed like this guy was on some sort of substance because he was so jittery. read more

From the Business

Specialties

Paragon Numismatics is a full-service rare coin dealer buying and selling coins, gold and silver, currency, jewelry, watches, and diamonds. We also sell high quality coins to collectors and offer professional appraisals.

History

Established in 1987.

My interaction with coins began in 1977 when a friend suggested collecting. Learning for the next decade led to founding Paragon Numismatics during my junior year at UW Madison. Coin dealing represents a treasure hunt because one never knows what will come in the door! Items I purchase include coins, currency, precious metals, jewelry, watches, and sterling. I also appraise collections on an hourly basis and sell a wide range of coins to collectors. Coins aside, treating clients with impeccable integrity represents the cornerstone of my business. If you have a rare coin hiding in a group of common items, I will identify it for you and offer you a price based on its true rarity and condition. No games. This commitment to knowledge and ethics reinforces my membership in the Professional Numismatists Guild, the most prestigious numismatic organization in the world with fewer than 250 members worldwide. Meet the Business Owner: Andrew K.

I've lived in Milwaukee for my whole life. I have presented dozens of lectures about coins at major national conventions and local venues. I've also been an instructor at the American Numismatic Association's Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs, CO. Nationally recognized expert on natural and artificial toning, coin originality, numismatic conservation, successful coin collecting strategies, and numismatic etiquette. I have bought and sold tens of millions of dollars worth of coins, gold, and silver over the years. I routinely participate in major national coin auctions when acquiring inventory or securing high quality coins for collectors. Enough about coins...get a life, Andy! Outside of work I enjoy gardening, reading, playing bass guitar, family time, and getting chased by my dog.
