We are early eaters, and we hadn't adjusted to the time change, so both days we went it was just us or one other table. Because of that, the waitress spent a lot of time talking to us. She wasn't bothering us, she was just interested where we were from, and about the states in general. She talked about how beautiful American accents were, which we thought was funny cause the obvious beauty of the french language, but I guess that is normal to them.
Then we got the meal. I had never had the dish Pasta All'Amatriciano, but I seek it out whenever I got to an Italian restaurant these days. It's a pasta, obviously, with olive oil, onion, red wine, pancetta and a few other things I can't remember. The key is the pancetta and oil working together, it seems. That fatty goodness, and the good olive oil mix well. In the hands of a french chef, or italian for that matter, it is a work of art. So amazingly good.
For dessert, I had the panna cotta and my wife had the tiramasu. Both were the best I have ever had, as you would expect from a Parisian restaurant. Easily one of the top five meals I have ever had.
