Worst beard trim I've ever received - completely uneven and chopped my beard into a chinstrap. Had to completely shave and restart a 6-month beard growing process. He completely ignored my instructions and couldn't even follow a picture that I showed him as a guide. Worst $20 I've ever spent read more

The best service and the nicest people. And very reasonably priced, as well. Very professional.

As most men and women know, it can be challenging finding a decent barber that not only has the skill and experience to give a nice cut but who will also listen to you and provide friendly service without a long wait. I have been going to this father and son duo for years now and can go in at anytime and just say "the usual" or tell them a different style I want to try and I can walk out confident k owing I look like a million bucks. It doesn't matter which of them I go to, I just hop in the first open chair. Their hours are very conducive to my sporadic schedule, I have not once needed to make an appointment as 90% of the ti e I can walk in and hop right in a chair. The longest I've ever had to wait was on a Friday before a big holiday weekend and even then it was maybe 30 minutes and I just told them I'd be back, ran across the way to Walgreens and when I came back they were ready for me. I'm no eavesdropper but it's not hard to tell that vast majority of patrons are regulars and very at ease with the laid back style and extremely cordial conversation these two gentleman provide. They know their customers and their customers know them and they. Make you fell appreciated and welcomed each and every time. The shop is immaculately clean at all times, pleasant television volumes, very comfortable temperature and even provide a warm towel treatment post shave /haircut and a back massager at the end. The price is the best part as I can get a cut biweekly for $25.00 or a haircut and bead trim and shaping for $40.00 (don't forget to be generous with tipping for these hard working and composed gentleman!). Took me years to find a barbershop that was skilled and comfortable with African-American hairstyles that was close by - let's face it, their aren't too many folks with the amount of melanin the good lord saw fit to bless me with in the paradise valley community) and low and behold, one day I just Googled: "Barbers that cut black men's hair" near me and they popped up. Haven't needed to do another search since. I even got my my extruding sticky picky and skeptical father to go to them as his regular barber Highly recommended! read more

Paradise Valley barbershop is a hidden treasure behind the Walgreens at Tatum Boulevard and Shea. It's a treasure because this father and son barbershop consistently provide great cuts and friendly service. I get my hair cut about every three weeks and I've been a regular customer for at least five years. In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, I made an appointment with Edward who came to my house and gave me haircut so I didn't have to leave my home for a much needed cut. You simply can't beat that for service. And I think it's the only barbershop that I've ever been to where I don't bother taking the mirror, that they hand to everybody at the end of their cut, because I already know that it's a good one. read more

My previous haircutter of 20 years recently retired. I was looking for a new person to cut my hair. I was a walk in at the Paradise Valley barbershop. The barbershop had been in my neighborhood for more than a decade, but I had no reason to change where I was going. Now I wish I had changed years ago. I received a phenomenal haircut from a licensed barber instead of a professional hair cutter. The last time I had a straight razor cut was 30 years ago. I forgot how good a razor cut felt and looked amazing experience. I found my new barbershop. Received a couple of compliments the next day reasonably priced and a fantastic experience read more

Paradise Valley Barber Shop - Papa doing work today. - Barbers Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Excellent barbers that's close to home. I don't have much hair on top, so George & Eddy do a great job on my beard!

Convenient location. Nice owners. Consistent cuts. Short waits. Television. Pretty much all a guy wants in a barber shop. I've been coming here for years, dating back to the previous owner. The shop has been around since 1975, first located I believe in the Smitty's grocery store where Fry's now resides (Tatum and Shea). It's been in its present spot for a couple of decades. Admittedly, I may not be the best person to write a review for a barber shop. I'm a bit hair challenged. Perhaps that's why the $18 cost of a basic men's cut seems a bit steep to me. It is fairly reasonable for those with full heads of hair, however, especially when you factor in the convenient location and quick service. Take note. The shop is hard to spot from the street (Tatum). Just look behind Walgreens. read more

I have been coming here for 2 years now and every time I visit, Edward cuts me to perfection. The shop is clean and efficient. I'm there every two weeks. Love this place! read more

First actual barber shop I have ever gone to after years of great clips. Wow...what a difference! Not only are these guys faster but the end result is much better! I used to have to "fix" little straggler hairs or other minor misses but now when I walk out it's exactly as it should be. I also appreciate the care these guys take to make sure you don't have a lot of little cut hairs on your collar when you leave. Makes it is to get a cut and be able to about your day without itching. read more

Located behind Walgreens in the Bed Bath & Beyond strip center TATUM & Shea. My partner and I have been going to the Paradise Valley Barber Shop it seems like forever. So reminiscent of Barber Shops of our youth. I know stepping up into Edward's chair, that I'm going to get an awesome haircut. Over the years I have added the razor shave with classic hot towel and massage board treatment. Today I opt for what Edward and George call "The Real Deal". So in addition to a great haircut and an amazingly close shave, I get the facial as well. Upon leaving after every visit I feel like everything is alright with the world, and start looking forward to my next visit. Thank you guys for great oasis and respite from the go-go-go world. This is one of those seemingly old school barber shops like I went to when I was a kid. No nonsense, sit in the chair, get the necessary hair quickly and efficiently trimmed off, pay and get on the way to the rest of the day. Run by Eastern European immigrants, they're nice guys, quiet, moderately chatty if you are, and there's always a TV going. I prefer watching some generic shoot-'em-up movie, and they'll often accommodate my request. Price has been pretty stable over the years - I think when I first started coming here in the mid-2000s it was about $15, it's slowly increased to the $20 it is now. I don't know of another place that is as simple and straightforward as this place. The waiting is by gentleperson's agreement, with each who comes in checking who's already there. The barbers also keep track, so it's all cool. Definitely a good place to get a haircut. read more

Paradise Valley Barber Shop is very cool place. It's old world style, a precision cut, & tight shave. It's the place to get cleaned up & look your best. Edward is The Man. Easily the worst haircut I've ever received. If you want shaved up the sides and back, all clipper haircut with no tapering this is the place. One side of my head looks like a divot was taken out of it. I could do better myself with a flowbee... In fact I did during the pandemic. I think the problem is that they don't listen and really don't look at what has been done in the past. They just do what they are going to do Regardless of what you ask for, terrible...just terrible. So bad I lost sleep over it and I'm 64 years old. read more

First time and what a surprise. Feels like an old fashioned barbershop with all the classic pictures of haircuts. But they listened and did exactly what I wanted. The barber did a few extras- eyebrows- to give me a fresh look. Very happy with the end result. And no chatter- just a good haircut. Thanks read more

The Best. Edward has been cutting my hair over 8 years. He is the nicest guy. A family man. I always get the best haircut. Very precise in his cuts. I recommend highly for adults and kids. Can't say enough about his professionalism. read more

The barber shop has always been the sanctuary within which men could relax and enjoy the company of other men. Sitting in the traditional barber chair the outside world fades away. My first haircut was in a place like this back Tennessee in 1956. When I close my eyes to allow my eyebrows to be trimmed my thoughts often turn to the hundreds of times I have been in just such a place but then it was Colorado or Nevada of New York or Arkansas or Florida or Chicago or dozens of small towns or plush hotels where my professional career depended on my appearance and my appearance relied on finding a real barber shop where experienced men would insure that I left looking well groomed. Conversations typically range from the latest scores to current events. My last visit the customers and barbers delved into the origins of civilization and the growth of criminal activity due to the breakdown of the family which has resulted from the a steady decrease in the average person's ability to find well paying jobs without earning a college degree which would leave them with a huge student loan obligation. I always leave looking well groomed and frequently receive compliments on my hair cut and overall appearance. As an older man I have special grooming considerations which my Barber Tony attends to using his decades of experience. If you miss the traditional barber shop of your youth then drop by, wait, talk, relax and when you leave your day as well as your hair will be improved. If the place is busy just sit back and enjoy the wait. Start a conversation. Bring your son and introduce him to one of the few, now rare traditions where men can be themselves and women dare not enter. read more

Edward has been cutting my son's hair for over 10 years! Always a perfect cut. You won't regret coming here!!

Edward never disappoints...have been going to him for over 10yrs and always get a great haircut. I highly recommend!

George and his entire staff are excellent. I have been with him for 3 plus years now. Very personable. I sit on the chair and he knows hows to cut my hair. My kids like him and don't budge when cutting their hair. Have you ever heard of the saying don't mess with perfection. Well, this is the place. If your looking for a quiet, comfortable atmosphere, this is the place. Can't say enough good things. A++++ in my book. read more

I love this place. Been taking my son here for ten years. Super nice neighborhood shop!

So-so haircuts, with an occasional really bad one. The bigger issue for me is, if you like dealing with honest businesses, DON'T GO HERE!!! After reviewing my credit card charges for 2016, I discovered that unbeknownst to me, they were adding on additional tip to what I had signed for. When I confronted Edward, one of the barbers, with the numerous instances of this fraud, he denied doing it. I followed up with a letter to the owner demanding repayment. I received a phone call from the other barber George, wanting to to settle the matter by giving me a credit to future haircuts. HUH??? I said that I wasn't coming back to any business that had cheated me, and that repaying the fraud was the only way for them to redeem themselves. George promised to send me a check. That was 2 or 3 weeks ago, and so far no check. Why am I not surprised? Dishonesty breeds further dishonesty. My next step is lodging a formal complaint with the State Barber's Board. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! read more

Very classy barber shop. Both very talented barbers and usually very little wait time. Open 7days/week. They are hidden behind Walgreens but still easy to find. Highly recommend read more

Don't waste your time or money . You'll be able to do a better job at home with a pair of clippers . These guys use to be good back when i use to go . Figured I'd give them another shot .. and boy was a i wrong . 26 dollars for a 5 minute haircut that the barber couldn't wait to finish. Told him to square the back he said he did but lied and made it round . Very disappointing . read more

This is a very inconsistent experience. I have been going here regularly for four years or more, and I never know how I will be treated. The guys are competent and pleasant enough, but one time I'll be treated with hot towels and a massage vibrator, and the next time they'll rush me in and out without so much as an eyebrow trim. It's the same guys, and I'm the same customer, and I always tip well. I can't figure it out, so I'll take my business somewhere else where I won't get the bum's rush. read more

Best Barber Shop in the Valley! These guys do a great job. If you care about quality then this is your place. I don't have to worry that "maybe" I'll get a great cut. It's usually no wait or a short wait. Prices are great and these guys take their time and get it right. Isn't that all you really want? I RARELY write reviews, but I needed to share so you guys can check it out and find your "go to" place like I did. I found them by chance when I was getting water jugs filled next door one day and just thought I'd give them a try. Glad I did! read more
