The other day I needed some new window wipers, they guy there showed me the range from lowest price to highest and once I had made my decision he came out to my car with me and fitted them. I find their oil to be a really good price here and they have a little booklet that tells you the different weights of oil and what each different car needs. It made everything so simple I just found my car in the booklet and saw the weight it needed and done! There's good free street parking here with unlimited time limit which is always convenient.

Given two printed quotes Paid the excess for the AA claim but put my repair on hold. Repair only took 2 days - very impressed. It was the day after I picked my car up when I walking around it I noticed both sides of my car had been repaired. I went straight back to their office totally overwhelmed and was told by the lovely receptionist to please don't worry but I spoke with Mark who also said it wasn't a problem and not to worry about it. I was in tears and gave him a big hug. Thank you so much for caring you guys are AMAZING.

Mark had a look at it straight away, assessed how bad it was and what needed to be done and quoted us around $500, completed by maybe Friday, hopefully Monday. We asked him to pretty please try and get it done quickly, gave him the key and headed home. By 3:30pm on Friday, Mark was calling me to let me know it was done. We came and picked it up, and it was right on what he quoted us, and the job looked excellent (he had warned us that due to the location, it might be noticeable where they painted it - it looked fine to me). He gave us photos to give to the mechanics doing the WoF. Mark was really friendly and did an excellent job, and while I hope I won't have to use a panelbeater again, I highly recommend his work to anyone who needs it!

When I asked Terry about it he made up some story about selling it for a friend. Couldn't give me the friends name or number though.

Extremely overpriced service and poor communication…read more After hearing great things about Scott Baird Automotive from family and friends, I was extremely disappointed with the two car Services I received this year. For the first service (my partners car), I asked that if there were any issues with the car, these would be quoted before they proceeded with remedying them. I was contacted later by Scott who said there were issues, and made it seem like he had already remedied them but did not discuss any pricing or cost of this, so I assumed they were minor. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was charged far more than what was inferred as the 'genuine' parts ordered were purchased directly from the manufacturer. Apparently this brief phone call was confirmation of my agreement to proceed with remedying these significant issues, when it was vague and communicated poorly. I decided to give Scott Baird Automotive a second chance for my car given the good things I had heard about them (big mistake). On this occassion I only received a standard car service (Oil and Filter Change + minor works and ensuring car was up to spec) and was charged $250 labour for 2 hours work, $400 all up. Furthermore, they will only install 'genuine' parts that are ordered directly from the manufacturer (in my case Honda) who charge excessive rates for their parts, so you're better off going straight to your car manufacturer for your service if you are going to pay a premium anyway. Only reason for 2 stars is for the work they carried out was up to a high standard and Scott came across as genuine, but their labour and service costs are extremely overpriced and poor value for money.

They said he was honest and reliable, and happily, that turned out to be just the case. He worked his magic on my car, the gearbox, to be specific, including things like exchanging the wiring loom, filter, gasket, and transmission fluid, and running a full diagnostic scan. Okay, okay, I copied that off the invoice, I have no idea what it means. The most important point is that I had a couple of other quotes and First Gearboxes was by far the cheapest, and my car's been going great since. It's so nice to get this blokey stuff done by a trustworthy company, and I'd recommend First Gearboxes absolutely.
