Well apparently everyone reviewed the bakery and I should have just eaten the bread. I instead went…read moreto the restaurant side and had lunch at the per kilo buffet. They were running out of the popular items like breaded chicken and you had to line up separately and request sliced steak from the grill if you wanted something hot other wise they had a selection of rice, pasta, vegetables, salads, salmon, bolhinhos, beans, and the typical offering at a per kilo place. As expected, the flavor was average. I also tried the in-house mate, not quite the same flavor as mate Leao. With big but heavy plates, a paltry serving can easily run R$30. The best part of it was the dessert which was separate. The chocolate mil folhas was rich and tasty. The pastry itself was still quite crispy and fresh, so I can see how the pastries, desserts and bakery items are lauded. The shop next to the restaurants which you're obligated to walk through had a good selection of beer, cheeses and other specialty items, all for a hefty price. I did try a lata of Rio cha verde with lychee (can of green tea with lychee) which was delicious. Next time I'll have to have breakfast as the other yelpers recommended.
