Close walk from the train station, close to shopping, great location to spend the day wondering around. Panificio mario is know for their focaccia bread. Focaccia bread is a a flat bread that is slightly salty, it's dimpled on the top and quite airy in the middle.
Genoa is known for pesto and focaccia so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try it in a place that the Genoas like the most. It is served up in various sizes, we asked for "two people" and the pic is the serving size for that. We also ordered a pesto baked item they had since, as stated above, they are also known for.
Both were good but we actually favored the person baked item, the focaccia was very good as well but the cheese in the pesto one make it pull ahead.
Absolutely worth stopping by if you happen to be in town. read more
