Unfortunately, "this never happens" according to Niessing and they couldn't have been less helpful. They would not replace the setting. They would not let us choose a new setting. We are getting the same setting back with her diamond remounted (for a fee, because this is our fault?). Now she will only wear her engagement ring for special occasions. Thanks for an expensive unreliable setting Niessing. If you're planning on using a garnet or other inexpensive stone, this setting may be right for you.
