Pandemonium is a very small shop so be prepared to get squashed and fight for clothes if you visit during the Whitby Goth Weekend! There's also steps to enter and steps inside the shop so it's not accessible for wheelchairs or those who have difficulty walking.
They used to have a good range of goth clothes but now it's quite small, with all the second-hand stock taking over the majority of the shop. The new stuff is quite pricey but the second-hand stuff varies - some people seem to ask for ridiculous prices while other people are more realistic and then you can grab a bargain!
The new stuff seems to be mostly trousers (jeans, chained trousers, leggings etc.), band and slogan t-shirts, and a few skirts, dresses etc. With such limited stock, they don't have many different sizes.
The second-hand stuff is bought in by anyone who wants to sell off old alternative clothing. They choose the price. There's also some second-hand CDs, bags, shoes and other accessories so it's worth having a dig around to see if you can pick up a hidden gem.
You're more likely to get something a bit different in the second-hand section of the shop and there's a changing room so you don't need to worry about guessing if the size is right.
If you're into alternative and gothic fashion then definitely visit Pandemonium (during quieter periods) as there's clothing to suit all budgets and you never know what you might find. read more
