Tony was the one who helped me, and he was absolutely incredible. He was so kind and empathetic from the very start. He even took the time to call me the day after I dropped our girl off just to let me know she was on her way to the cremation service, which provided so much peace of mind. Remarkably, he had her ashes back to us by the very next day. What touched us most was the pickup process. They didn't just hand her over like a transaction or a 'take-out order.' Instead, Tony invited us into a quiet meeting room, brought Luna to us with grace, and sat and talked with us for a while. That small act of humanity turned a very dark, sad situation into something peaceful. As if their kindness wasn't enough, they even have a resident 'comfort dog' of their own who can attend services to help people through their grief. It's clear that Tony and the rest of the team truly understand the bond between humans and their animals. Currently under the direction of the Shannon family, the business is fondly called "Shannon's" by locals. The Shannons do a very good job of treating everyone with respect and dignity, as you would expect during a very stressful time. They are very nice people and go out of their way to support community events--especially local youth sports. There are only two drawback to using their services: One is the size of their facility. If you have a large funeral, their place fills up very quickly. There's only room for about about 80 people. The second is that they are located directly on a very busy state highway, about a half-a-block from a major intersection with a traffic light. I have been to many funerals where the service was drowned-out by some insensitive clod blasting a car stereo while waiting for the light to change.

My mom and I were in full grieving mode, and both Bill and Joanne did a great job answering our questions and addressing our concerns, all while having to deal with other grieving families. What sets Christy's apart is their investment in their facility. Their funeral home is a very large, state of the art facility capable of handling two large funerals simultaneously... or at least preparing for one funeral as another is ongoing in the other half. There is ample seating for hundreds of visitors. There is also an anteroom for family members' private reflection and preparations, which is a welcome respite in difficult times. Parking is also easy in their large private lot.

There were no condolences offered. When questioned about prices, he was very gruff, stating that this was what he charged, and that was that. She helped make this difficult time go as smoothly as possible. She was professional and on point with every recommendation from florists to the luncheon, to help with dealing with insurance companies.
