I didn't expect to be able to get terrific tapas just round the corner from Warwick Castle but I…read morewas very happy when I did. Catalan is pretty unassuming from the street, just a bright sign and some blackboards, on the inside however you'll find a really contemporary, clean and bright bar/restaurant there also appears to be a little garden so some outdoor eating should be possible on a nice summer day. The menu covers everything you'd expect from a good tapas place but it isn't ridiculous in scope, this helps keep the quality of the individual plates up so I'm always happy to see it. There are three categories to choose from, vegetable, meat and fish, we had some of each and all of it was presented beautifully and tasted good (the pork belly was a particular highlight). It actually spans two adjacent buildings so the full bar in the right hand side (joined in the middle by a knock through) shouldn't impact too much on a nice meal, the bar actually looks like it would be a really nice place to go and have some cocktails in the evening as well. Staff were friendly and welcoming, they have a nice relaxed lunch service there even though there were plenty of covers. Prices vary quite a lot, it appears that they are pricing to cost so a nice salad or chicken thighs comes in at around £4.50 where prawns were more like £8, you could definitely get yourself a good cheap meal here if you are on a budget. Overall well worth a visit and I'd like to go back for dinner.

The paella looked good but we were in a rush so we chose 5 tapas between two of us. Tempura prawns with a chilli jam, marinaded chicken thigh, a fig and fried halloumi salad, patatas bravas with a gorgeous fresh sauce and pork belly were all tasty and beautifully presented. The food and two pints of Spanish cider came to less than £40. The place itself was light, airy and comfortable though they could do with adding a few more songs to their playlist! Would definitely return.

After a long train ride from London my party of 4 was absolutely starving! So starving that we…read morecouldn't help, but attack the bread the waitress brought to our table as soon as we were seated at Rose and Crown. Boy, that was good bread. For my meal I ordered the goat cheese sandwich, which came with a tomato, red pepper, and parsnip soup. The soup did the trick of warming me up right away! The goat cheese sandwich was just OK. I never thought I'd say this since I absolutely love goat cheese, but they overdid it on the cheese a bit. I think they used 10 goats to make this one sandwich. Someone else at the table was smart enough to order a side of fries (umm, I mean chips) so I put my sandwich aside and ate those instead. Others at the table munched on ravioli, ceasar salad, and mushroom risotto. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. I also liked that their coffee came with lots of sugar cubes (I ate 3 just on their own!) and smarties (one of my favorite candies). They may not know how to make a goat cheese sandwich at Rose & Crown, but they sure know how to serve a good cup of coffee!

Reasonable local ale for just £4.10 each. Shared the £7.50 Camembert with croute toast as an appetizer. It didn't last very long. Loved the Deli Plates tapas-style tasting menu concept. If I ever open a restaurant, I'm totally ripping off that idea! Loved the Poached Salmon with arugula and the Smoked Mackerel Pate. Nice ales and reasonable wine prices. Very pleasant and personable table service.

When we walked it, it was quite busy as a huge party was occupying a table across from us. A few other guest always dining as well. Not a big place but still very intimate and quite nice. Bar available but not sure if it's full bar. We did have a couple bottles of wine with dinner. Menu, straight to the point. Tapas and more tapas. As there was couple of us, we all chose three dishes to share. Each all looked amazing. The prawns, chorizo, mussels, meatballs, hummus, sun dried tomatoes salad, mushrooms, fried halloumi sticks, the skewers, pate, avocado toast, and croquettes. Everything was really good apart from it being slightly different from the states. The only downside, the skewer were a bit dry but presented beautifully. Everything was quite tasty and plenty to share for what we've ordered. Mussels were quite tasty in the sauce, chorizo was really good. Pate was more of sliced meat versus a spread. Service was great, staff was really friendly and chatty which was great. They ended the night for us with a little cocktail shot which was quite nice. Overall, amazing service, food was great, atmosphere was nice and friendly. Will definitely return.

Small, friendly, a nice location just off the main shopping area, reasonably priced and generous portions. The food was delicious and worth venturing over for whether you are local or not! We had crisp halloumi, spiced aubergine with minced lamb, chilli peppered squid, pork belly and chips, a lovely crisp Pinot Grigio (my friend's a white drinker) and a couple of liqueur coffees. All this for £30 a head including a tip. The staff were efficient, attentive and charming. Young and energised, I loved the way all the front of house staff presented one table with a birthday dessert and sang with evident delight to the guest. We were made to feel very welcome despite booking a late table and the arrival of a large party of blokes who'd evidently been out for a Christmas get together added to the very European feel of this little gem. We'll be back
