Panchitos is a fun place to grab a filling lunch or dinner. It's an eight minute walk from the Hospital Clinic metro stop, and is pretty easy to find.
I suspect that this restaurant is part of a large chain, because it's menus had a very Applebee's feel, with laminated stock photos of their food. But that's besides the point.
I ordered the enchilada and split a pitcher of sangria and nachos for the table. The nachos came out first. They were extremely generous with the toppings, as we had salsa, mountains of oozing cheese, guacamole, and beef that laid on top of a beautifully constructed pile of nachos. Maybe I was hungry but they really did hit the spot. The sangria was also good. Pretty good pricing as well. My four friends shared the pitcher (approximately 9 euros). The small orange and lemon slices that skimmed the top of the jar topped it off well.
My enchiladas were pretty great. They were thick and coated in handfuls of cheese and sauce. The ornate refried beans-nacho structure came with the savory kick that I needed.
Overall my friends and I paid around 12 euros per person for a pretty satisfying, large meal. Wouldn't mind coming back if I find myself in the area again. read more
