It was the notion of me and my girlfriend sharing a meal in a venue that is satisfying for both singles, couples and families with children who once will blossom into citizens of our world that we call Mother Earth. We started our dinner by ordering a corona and a mojito. The tension in the room as Camilla gently pushed the lime boat with her index finder into the bottle... was immense. The mojito tasted like a sweet summerfield and a little bit of heaven. I have never been a believer in a God until this mojito tickled the tip of my tongue. I proceeded to order the "Alambra" - a taco containing sinderloin beef, melted cheese, a fresh variety of vegetables and two dipping sauces. -- The taste was unpresedentef. The mix of juicy meat, melted cheese, the vegetables and the spicy addition of the sauces made this a highlight of my vacation so far. Camilla ordered the Volcanes. Another trendy approach to the many flavors of Mexico. Her dish was assembled by three taco shells, sinderloin beef, cheese and avocado. As i met her eyes and she met mine as we both pushed our main courses into our mouths was... divine. Emotions i had never experienced suddenly filled me up like water in a glass. So... what is the meaning of life? I surely don't know, but after spending two hours at this lovely restaurant I am 100% sure that I am one step closer to finding out. Gently snored the black python at the bottom of my belly. It was... satisfied.

It's about a 6 minute taxi ride from there. We were seated in the back room with the writing covering the walls. The front bar seemed a little livelier but we took what was offered. Husband had house red wine (3.50 euros) and I had sangria (4.50 euros). Good pours for both. We started with the red shrimp (gambillos) in a lemongrass sauce, about 6 shrimp for 15 euros. Then grilled octopus (which was very tender) over mash potatos and snap peas for 15 euros. We also had a side of grilled bread (4 pieces) for 3.5. We also ordered the Pepita beef with mash potato but took home for dinner as we were full (18 euros). We finished with the homemade corn ice cream with carmelized popcorn and raspberries, which was very unique at 6.5. We added our names to the wall to top off the meal. Service was quick and friendly. Total bill was 85 euros including 5 drinks. It was our best meal in Barcelona so far.

The 1906 or something beer was surprisingly good and kind of honey sweet. Cava was great with jamon. The only bad thing is that sitting at the bar, people will keep hitting your backside unless you scoot in sideways Need cash to leave tip : s

If you're craving authentic Mexican food in Barcelona, Tamarindo is an absolute must-visit…read more The food was some of the best Mexican cuisine we've had. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We ordered the quesadillas and the skirt steak tacos, and both were outstanding. The steak was tender, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly, while the quesadillas were packed with flavor. The drinks were just as impressive--expertly made, well-balanced, and some of the best cocktails we enjoyed during our stay in Barcelona. What really sets Tamarindo apart is the atmosphere. From the décor to the music, the ambience genuinely makes you feel like you've stepped into Mexico. Add in the warm, attentive service, and the entire dining experience is exceptional. We enjoyed it so much that we came back twice during our stay in Barcelona--and we'd gladly return again on our next visit.

It was our luck, but definitely recommend making a reservation before showing up just in case they say no. It is a very casual setting with a wonderful atmosphere. The music is lovely and the art in the building is beautiful. Would definitely recommend this spot for some good Mexican food. There is a main floor, bar, and upstairs.
