And I'd be in heaven if we had waffles, which was rare, but special. What I like about Maple is that you can have breakfast at any hour of the day. And it is breakfast as breakfast should be -- hefty, hearty, and comforting. Let me start with the Swiss Chocolate Waffle (there is a pancake option), which I always have. With a side order of country sausage, for a nice balance of sweet and savory. And a cup of brewed Lavazza. The reason why I enjoy this so much is because it is an elevated rendition of what I would have at home: I'd have chocolate chips in my pancakes at home; at Maple, it's Swiss Chocolate. But the waffle is for when I feel like taking it light. On other days, when I'm feeling more voracious, I'll have the Big MAPLE Breakfast. Composed of a Belgian waffle (which are the size of a plate, by the way), served with bacon, two eggs (cooked how you like), breakfast sausages, and country fries, this is clearly the breakfast of champions. There is no backing down from this. There is also that other option: the Prime Rib Tapa. It is a steak slab, marinated in the traditional Filipino tapa recipe of soy sauce, sugar, garlic, and black pepper. Served with garlic rice, atchara (pickled papaya), and two eggs (cooked your way), of course.

I tried their mac and cheese and pesto pasta and they were all right - al dente and sauce is just right. I haven't tried their bestseller though, the southern style fried chicken that can come with a donut or mac & cheese pasta. I heard from a friend that the savory chicken might be better suited with the sweet donut than salty the mac & cheese. We wanted to try out their affogato or other menu with ice cream, but during our visit they ran out of ice cream. :( Besides their restaurant on the ground floor, they also have a balcony on the second floor for a fun drinking session! Their bar selection is great (beer, wine, hard drinks) because my friends and I have different tastes in alcohol and we didn't have a problem in ordering our favorite drink. They have an open-secret bar also on the second floor which I haven't tried because my friends and I just wanted a chill night out. It's something I would like to try out the next time I visit Forbes Town. :) Frank & Dean has almost everything as a hang out place - restaurant, cafe, dessert place, bar, and mini-club! I would recommend this as a new hang out place in BGC, or a meet up place for friends, old and new.

It's a really open space too so it feels airy. Unfortunately for me, the food didn't live up to the expectations. The food here is so, so average! You could get the same quality meal for probably 60% of the price from Pancake House, IHOP, or one of the American food chains like Kenny Rogers. I've been here numerous times and I've never really had anything I loved. The first time we took a friend from Thailand here and I had the grilled cheese with paprika fries. It was good, but for the price point you can't help but compare it to the grilled cheese sandwiches from Borough and Wildflour, and the grilled cheese here lacks so so much. It's not bad...but it's not ₱335 pesos good either. The most recent trip I took was with family visiting from Europe. I got the chicken and waffles. Again, super super average. I understand that I have probably unreasonable high standards for chicken and waffles because I grew up in the Southern United States but the fact that you could only get waffles if you ordered two pieces and were charged accordingly is somewhat odd. I liked their syrup as it was not too thick nor runny but the chicken was unevenly seasoned, kinda grey colored, and was bland inside. My cousins picked at their food, ordering the pesto pasta, Macaroni and cheese with bacon and one of the pizzas. We all tried each other's food and we all felt the same way. Everything was so average and not worth how much we paid. With all of the food available in the Burgos Circle area and with Burgos basically seamlessly connected with High Street all the way to SM Aura, there's not really a reason to eat here.

The taste is very authentically French. The ham crepe with bechamel sauce was delicious. The ambience is very French, even the style of the restroom! Service was friendly and efficient. They also have a hot chocolate with a side of whipped cream and chocolates that is a bit expensive at 200+, but its big enough for 2 people to share. They're open until 11pm. Overall a great experience. Authentic enough that I thought the owner was French!

The fudge brownie tasted absolutely perfect when eaten with vanilla ice cream! The Spoiled Mummy- fresh strawberries, peanut butter, bittersweet chocolate and oatmeal walnut crisp topped with salted butter caramel; a bit too rich and heavy for my taste, but I'm pretty sure peanut butter lovers would rejoice at the sight of this!

On to the Buttermilk Chicken! The breading was wonderful with hints of spice to give it a slight kick. I love how they used boneless chicken to make eating effortless. The gravy and honey even enhances the flavor of the dish and makes you want to eat even more! Also, they serve the chicken with Cornbread. So good! My most favorite dish (apart from the Buttermilk Chicken) is the Baked Brie with Cranberry sauce. The Brie is enveloped in filo pastry. So, when it arrives at you table, eat it immediately! The filo is very crisp and the Brie is gooey. The rich Brie flavor was perfect with the tang of the cranberry sauce. If you don't want the Chicken or the Brie, try their Reuben Sandwich! They don't scrimp on the meat and, yes, they serve it with dill pickles! The servings here are HUGE! So, it's the best place to have a family get together or dinner with friends! :)

Everything from chicken and waffles to Filipino staples with a twist (lamb adobo) to some lighter fare like sandwiches and salads. Wife and I split a grilled cheese and baked Brie on this last meal they were both great portions to not feel overly stuffed after lunch. It's a good place to go but I don't think anything is going to blow your mind food wise; that said the food is good but it lacks that one big differentiator. I'd give it an extra half star if I could and it's one of the better mall restaurants but it doesn't quite own its corner the way Corazon does downstairs. Do try the matcha waffle and nori chicken. Interesting little take on a southern classic that seems to be popular here right now as everyone seems to have a variant of some sort.

I went inside Megamall and my first instinct was to look for a restaurant that would probably have a landline. Of course, I may as well head to one that I haven't tried, right? Fireside had a very spacious layout, with neutral tones accented by red (the logo has red obviously) and has a homey but sophisticated vibe. The server took my order and assisted me to their landline so I can get in touch with my Dad and make arrangements for picking me up. The Grilled Chop House Salad was a generous serving of greens, slices of pork, crumbled cheese, broccoli and other veggies. For merienda, I'd say it was light enough that I was able to finish it but also heavy enough that it lasted me until dinner. Incredibly grateful for the courtesy and hospitality of the staff, plus glad to have peeked into the taste of Fireside.

Plus, finding out that Fireside is actually the sister restaurant of Kettle was what sealed the deal. The restaurant primarily had a chic urban setting. With unpainted cement partnered with couches and pillows, Fireside looked like an undone apartment. Yet it still had an upscale feel to it. The food that Fireside churned out was not at all bad either. I've gotten to try their Australian lamb chops and they were simply divine. Despite the fact that we were only two, we got to finish one whole plate of it. Hahaha. It was very savoury, definitely lived up to the level of deliciousness Kettle was known for. Alongside that, we tried out their infamous chicken tenders with cornbread biscuits. Now this was a home run! The buttermilk chicken fingers were reminiscent of Kettle's Buttermilk Chicken but in a form that was easier and less messy to eat. And their cornbread biscuits? They just basically rocked my world! They come in ball-like forms so it's easier to share. Some of my other recos would be their Mac n' Cheese, Ceasar Salad with Bacon, and Potato Chips with Sour Cream dressing. Haaaaay, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. ALSO! If you're a baconatic like me, order Fireside's Bacon (they come in as a side order). It's basically fried bacon steak. Yup, they're not strips. 'Nuff said, right? I have yet to go back to Fireside to check out their other dishes but for now it gets 5 stars from me. If you haven't visited Fireside, please do go. I'm sure you will not regret it!

We tried out their Truffle Fries (P135), Fried Mozarella (P225), Creamy Mushroom Truffle Pasta (P255), Lucky Burger (P180) and Buttermilk Fried Chicken (P175). The truffle fries had too much truffle which can be overwhelming for some. Their burgers, however, are a different story. The prices of their burgers are not bad at all! The cheapest among their selection is the Chorizo Burger (Choriii Burger) at P130. If you want a meal upgrade with iced tea and fries you just add P75. Drinking with friends is also great here. When we dined here, even when it wasn't happy hour, we were able to experience their buy-one-take-one promo for P138. They have a list of cocktails where you could select your poision. I shared the promo with a friend and I got the mojito and he ordered the piña colada. Not much of the interiors has changed when Lucky's took over the spot of The Burgery. I just think they changed up the names of the items in the menu because their descriptions weren't very far off. I just wish they didn't take out the Cookie Dough plate! But, when my friend and I met for our Christmas get-together, we wanted to try something new and decided to "splurge" for lunch. Poulet Manille serves free-range, organic French chicken. So, to manage your expectations, the server told us that a whole chicken (Php998, comes with 8 side dishes) is good for 4 people. It was enough for me and my friend. I guess it depends on your appetite. We wanted to try 2 flavors. So, we ordered the half size of the Poulet Truffle Chicken and French Country Classic Chicken. A half size order (Php620) includes 4 side dishes; we ended up trying all the side dishes. For the side dishes, my favorites were the Creamy Mashed Potato, Broccoli & Toasted Almonds, and the Mixed Biodynamic Vegetables (the veggies were small but very sweet). I ordered their Home Brewed 4 Berries Iced Tea, it was good but nothing special. I loved that you could smell the truffle as the chicken was served. The chicken was so tender but, some parts took more time to chew. I wish there was a way for the truffle flavor to penetrate to meat. Most of the flavor just stayed on the chicken skin. But, it was very good chicken and we were full after the meal. Will I be back? Of all the dishes we tried, the only dish that I would go back for is their French Onion Soup. Full of onions and topped with gooey cheese. It was delicious! :)

They've got a lot of interesting things on their menu that I don't think you'll be able to find elsewhere but are sometimes out of certain dishes depending on available ingredients. There are so many restaurants in BGC but I find myself coming back to Green Pastures because I want to try everything on their menu. My favorites and things I highly recommend you try: - Custard Eggs (Scrambled organic eggs that are creamy & absolutely delicious) - Biscuits & Gravy (the biscuits were nice & fluffy but the star of the show is the gravy!
