Palumbos has long been our favorite pizza place. I have to drive past other places to come to get the best ! They do a great job to customize our pizzas. In addition their wings are good and saucey.. we always get good service and have gotten several things off the menu including delicious sandwiches. They have specials on certain days.. Ordered an Italian sub. Went and picked it up. Paid the $9 and left. Sat down to eat and was surprised by a sub-par sub. "Where's the meat?" Was my first thought. I was always used to Italian places making good subs. Not here. You win some, you lose some. Hopefully this sub doesn't reflect on how good the pizza is. read more

Pizza was delicious. Service was alright. I ordered the wings also but they were raw sad to say.

So disappointed! I was recommended by several people to go here, so I did. I ordered the chicken parm sub which is one of my favorites and the bread was old and dry. When I opened it up I found several slices of breaded chicken not generous and barely any cheese except on the outer layer of the sandwich. How cheap can you get? I read some reviews that said that the staff were not friendly, I found them very friendly but the sandwich was just so bad that I couldn't even think about going back. read more

Although a bit out of the way and not on a major strip, this little place has good business. They do have one of the best pizzas in the Poconos and if you're from New York, then you'll be surprised. If you're a party of 3, I highly recommend ordering the large pie and pitcher. It's a Great Deal! You'll definitely want to have minimum of 2 slices. I love the fact that the crust is thin and crunchy. It's especially good when it first comes out of the oven. Just be careful with burning your mouth. They also sell cold beer to go and there's constantly someone at the counter buying. So, overall, if you're looking for great pizza, this is the place for it. read more

Great Mom and Pop Italian-run Pizza and Beer joint, that looks like time passed it by.....and guess what? They make solid pizza. The traditional/Neapolitan slices are thin and crisp, and the Sicilian are thick and airy. Good quality sauce and cheese, as well. My only complaint (and it's nitpicking) is that the traditional crust isn't 'chewy' like the very best places in NY/NJ have mastered. One thing I really like is that the prices for all the many specialty pizzas are reasonable, and also clearly on display in front of each pie under glass. There's nothing worse than buying a Coke and a couple of topping-laden slices and then finding out it's $9 bucks! Not here! Pizza is eh. Service was horrible. If you want to wait an hour for a sloppy mess of a pie, this is the place for you! Mozzarella sticks and onion rings were reheated and tasteless. Mm mm mmmmm! Palumbo's is so yummy and is my favorite pizza in the area. Everyone I bring here loves it and thinks it's equally delicious. Quick notes: 1) Parking is easy to find. They share a giant lot with the other stores in the plaza, but it's usually fairly empty. 2) They do have a bathroom for customers only. 3) Get a FRESH white cheese pizza with FRESH basil on top. They'll make it for you nice and hot and it'll do wonders for your taste buds. 4) Easiest is to order in and pick up, but we have eaten in the pizzeria before. Tables are clean, but the place could use a makeover. People are friendly. 5) Service is usually quick, but if you don't want to wait, again, order ahead! read more

Being a full blooded Italian, rooted from Staten Island, family all from Brooklyn...we know good pizza. All my Italian friends in the area from the old neighborhood, we all know good pizza. We all agree that Palumbos beats out all these other pizza places in town, best pizza best Italian food around by far. I use the spot off 3rd street here to grab a slice alone, and when I wanna take family out we go to the other spot up 611 with better seating. Sicilian slice is great, try a chicken parmigiana sandwich or if you like those exotic pies with the chicken bacon ranch and things like that they do that sort of thing. Went on January 22, 2017 its a shame because i used to love eating here. The tables were dirty, seats were falling apart and were duck taped, pizza was overcooked and extra saucy and i saw one of the chefs on his phone texting, puts his phone away, and starts wiping his face and eyes with his hands like he is tired or something, afterwards he never washes his hands, the phone rings he goes to the computer places the order hangs up the phone, never washed his hands and starts taking out dough and pounding it with his bare hands no gloves. That is gross and unsanitary. I don't know what to think about this place anymore. All i can say is another one bites the dust. If you like overcooked pizza then come here! One star* read more

I would never go back to this pizza shop again. I watch the staff walk over and take customers their food for a half hour. But when me and my kids food was ready, my food was left on the counter. They expected me to pick up a whole hot pizza and carry it back to my table. After I watched them take everyone else food to their table. I demanded my food be brought to my table without be getting ignorant. Yes, I'm African American (Black) and everyone else in the so called pizza restaurant were white caucasian customers. My wife and I always go to the other location. The other night we ordered from this one, next to the shop rite. Although most of the food was good we just had one problem. The pizza roll was not made the same as the other location. There other location makes them big and fresh, always enough to share with someone as an appetizer. This palumbo's DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD!!! we took a picture of it and showed the owner and he informed us that the other location who made it better "was doing it wrong" . Just visited Palumbo's Pizza last night after going there for about 4 or 5 years now. I've never had a problem in the past, usually the food is delicious and the service, although not over the top friendly, is straight forward and for the most part, polite. Last night was a different story. Based on other reviews, I'm assuming the woman that I dealt with at the front counter was the owners wife. She acted like me being there and buying food was an interruption to her day. I decided to purchase a beer and gave this lady my ID, which I may add, is a Delaware license. No big deal, however I wasn't aware the individual who was carded, has to carry the beverages out the door. Its apparently a PA law. As I was headed out the door, the lady behind the counter scoffs and says "I guess people don't understand laws". I guess I'm the crazy one, but I never realized good customer service was scoffing and talking crap about customers as they walk away from you. read more

In town for weekend of soccer staying near by at Super 8 (do not recommend) just driving around pass Walmart and plaza there looking for some eats, drove over overpass by accident. See a Shoprite (our back home supermarket!) coincidentally so pull in maybe to pick up some groceries. See pizzeria there & now felt in the mood for a good chicken parm and a slice. It was a good choice. Took it to go. The owners/workers there are a bit gruff - not the friendliest of all people which can turn people off no matter how good their food is. Service with a friendly smile and speaking with customers in a nicer tone surprisingly goes a long way! As for the food, my chicken parm hit the spot and the slice was very good for outside NYC!! read more

I have always loved their pizza, but there's something to be said about customer appreciation. I've been a customer for over 10 years and they don't seem to have a connection with the customers. Most don't smile, they just grab your money and give you your order. They never even threw a garlic knot at me as a means of gratitude for my dedicated patronage all those years. So, i decides to try another pizzeria, Goomba's, and their pizza is just as good, if not better, than Palumbo's. they are nice AND friendly AND their pizza is delicious.Over all, great service. read more

How does this place only get 4 1/2 stars? It is by far the best pizza and subs in existence. We salivate over this place living in Seattle dreaming a visit to our families so we can stop in. No place in Seattle with all its high end height tech business and restaurants can even approach Mr. Palumbo's. Eat here. read more
