I took my old Riccar 808 to Paul's Sewing and Vacuum because it was stuck in reverse and needed a complete tune-up. I love that they do all their repairs in-house rather than outsourcing them. They promised a two-week turnaround and delivered exactly on time. My machine runs beautifully now, better than it has in years, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend Paul for a job well done! read more

Very knowledgeable, very helpful, got my sewing machine working again! I brought my machine in and they were clearly knowledgeable, and I felt they helped me understand the plan and these was no pressure about anything. Would recommend! read more

Cannot recommend. This is not a Bernina authorized dealer. I learned the hard way. Took my 750 in for service... 3 months and $349 later it still did not work properly. Any warranty available is void per Bernina corporate due to PALS service. Very rare that tech Casey will return a phone call. read more

Quick service And good customer service and the price is right and they are friendly the area is easy to find read more

My wife and I own and operate a cleaning company and we were looking to add either a Miele or Sebo to our lineup. We had visited another authorized dealer and seemingly pushy tactics were being used and not much in the way of providing information. At PAL's, I thought Pete was informative, patient, and put on a great demonstration of the model we were interested in. We walked out with a new addition to our cleaning lineup. Thank you Pete! read more

Took longer than quoted; had to call to check If ready. Cleaned the Shark Vacuum. Still not ideal. Guess I need a new machine. Cannot recommend read more

I had an excellent experience. Took in an older (but never used) Singer that a friend gave me to be sure it was in good shape so I could start using. I haven't sewn for a long time. They said it was just fine and very kindly sat me down to review how to set things up and how to run it. Very patient. Took their time. Without charging me for their time. I did buy a few bobbins and thread. They have all kinds of new sewing machines with much better quality than mine. They looked more solid than mine and did not look too expensive to me. The quality and value I received was in their service. And if I get going on my sewing and need to upgrade, I would definitely go back! read more

Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and skilled. I was looking for a trustworthy establishment to service my machine, and they exceeded my expectations. It was a smooth process, no upselling. The service I received was a bit longer than the original estimate, but that wasn't an issue for me. I called a couple establishments to get a good idea of what the cost would be for a service, and their price was the same as the other establishments I called. $120 is a great deal to have a professional clean and oil your machine in my opinion. I will be back!! read more

I love this store! I bought my first Riccar Vacuum here almost 20 years ago. (It still works) but I just went back since it was time for an upgrade on my starter sewing machine. What a great selection of machines from top quality brands! I was blown away to see the numerous quality machines throughout the store. Very inviting and though there were a slew of machines, I didn't feel overwhelmed. I knew whatever machine I bought here would be quality and amazing! There is a reason this store is still here 20 years after my vacuum purchase.... The customer service is AMAZING! the kind you don't find often enough anymore. Karen was a gem! Helping my mom and I find exactly the machine I have dreamed about! They are the nicest family owned and run business I have experienced in so long and I will continue to buy all my vacuums and sewing machines (and presser feet- and thread- and vacuum bags ...) from Pals. If you need a sewing machine or Vacuum, this is the place to go. Their prices are better than anywhere else as is their service, selection & support!!! read more

I have driven past this place a million times and randomly went in to inquire about replacing a hose to my vacuum. The person who greeted me was very helpful. In just talking about this Hoover vacuum I purchased from Target under a year ago, he let me know all Hoover's come with a 3yr warranty. Additionally, PAL's is a certified Hoover repair partner. I was able to pull up my Target purchase history and fill in all the information for the repair. The gentleman let me know it would be 6-8 weeks and to expect that they would swap my unit out entirely. 3 weeks later they called to let me know I could pick up my NEW vacuum :) great service all the way around! read more

I am so glad that I stopped at PAL's Sewing & Vacuum Center. I was having a problem with the handle of my Pfaff sewing machine. Somehow the pin had come loose and the handle wasn't attached properly. Casey helped me right away. He turned the sewing machine upside down, found the pin, and reattached the handle on the spot. We had a great conversation and I can carry my sewing machine easily once again! I was amazed that he was willing to fix it right away. Thank you for the great service! read more

I called several sewing machine shops before settling on this one for my beloved very old Babylock serger. The first shop I tried told me that the service tech was on vacation for two weeks so I'd have to wait at least 3-4 weeks to get it serviced. That wasn't going to work. So I called this shop and they suggested I bring Babylock in and they could repair it. I knew what it needed so I went. First off the shop is really a mess. That was disconcerting to me because how do you manage a business with stuff all over the place? And I mean all over the place. There was no organization at all. The very nice guy took a look at my machine and immediately went to work. He repaired it while I waited and charged a very nominal fee. I kept asking him if he wanted more cash to repair it and he said no. I really liked this shop for sewing machine repair because he has a lot of experience and knows sewing machines (and apparently vacuums too) but wish he'd clean up the shop. . . it was difficult to navigate through and you really can't see the machines he has on the floor. He stocks vacuums, vacuum bags, long arm quilting machines, sewing, quilting and serger sewing machines with Janome brand accessories galore. Value looked to be very good and competitive with other stores and of course his fee to repair was crazy low. Good find! Especially compared to the other shops that weren't able to handle the repair. read more

First of all the 2 guys that work here have Bad attitudes. I went there and asked a question on my vacuum and the owner said I had to pay $129. it would have been nice if he would have at the very least inspected it. read more

Pal's is great. I had to get my surger rethreaded. No problem. The "surger guy" rethreaded it, switched out a spool of thread and even took the machine out to my car for me. Great service and incredibly patient, friendly people. read more

Pal's is great! Casey was super helpful with my sewing machine. He instantly knew what was causing my issues, operator error, and gave great tips! Can't wait to get it back from its cleaning and start sewing! While I was there I browsed the vacuums... I brought a new Sebo home! I'm in love! It cleans so deeply and is really user friendly! My whole family is in love with our new Sebo! Thank you Casey and thank you Pals! read more

Casey took the time to explain the problem with my grandfather's vacuum and found the problem right away - dirty old filters. We didn't have to leave it with them for diagnosis, enduring complicated jargon and costly expense. This place is top shelf, A++!!! Thank you, Casey!!! read more

Easy to work with, reasonable and quick service. I would come back again to have my vacuum serviced here.

I'll never go anywhere else again! I took my machine somewhere else during the pandemic. All was not fixed. I forgot I was not supposed to push the basting stitch button. Then I couldn't use my machine at all. So I had to take it in again, this time back to Pals. Casey explained why the other place didn't fix it. It was hard to get at. Casey explained what the real problem was on my older machine, which was not fixed by the previous repair place. Pete was very friendly and helpful over the phone. read more

Incredible inventory of sewing machines. Thank goodness Casey started off asking a few simple questions and was able to narrow down to the ones best suited for my use. No pressure to select the most expensive model. He patiently answered all questions and demonstrated all the features. My goodness how much they've improved since my 40+ year old Viking! Honest, patient, friendly service seldom offered anywhere. Casey is the best! PALS's is my new go to place for anything related to sewing, they have all accessories available in the store. read more

I was doing some embroidery for our football team and I was on a tight schedule. All of a sudden my machine jammed up and I could not fix it myself. Friendly, family-owned place with great advice and good products. Helpful and great expertise!

First of all, your staff's attitude has a huge problem. He didn't explain all of what you typed on Yelp. He just kelp saying "I have no idea. " almost ten times when we asked him any questions. Second, he did say Hoover sent the second vacuum to us in the beginning, but! He said he repaired all vacuum in the store later. (I have voice record) if you were me, how do you think?? Only liar would say two different stories, right? AND, I always brought my purchase receipt with me, But, he didn't want to see!! And we pick up just a vacuum without factory sealed box, only machine! We trusted you, so we didn't check the sticker at that time. Finally, yes, because I didn't get what I deserve to get, I already contact to Hoover and get what I should get. (they said whatever my machine is now, I always have my 2 years warranty with receipt!) But I am still very mad about your customer service and your staff's HORRIBLE attitude. That's why I wrote my very first Yelp review for you! I don't want other innocent people to suffer this. If you are the owner of this store, PLEASE, PLEASE to educate your employees, especially the one who has brown hair, middle-age man. (He is very rude!) Thank you. read more

My 55 year old Singer sewing machine broke 3/4 of the way through finishing my granddaughter's Halloween costume. We're flying in 3 days to the East Coast to visit her, and to deliver the costume. The repair wasn't complicated (the needle mechanism came apart). The first store I tried said it was too busy to even look at it. The second store didn't handle one-off problems but said my machine could be sent out to undergo a $200 make-over, including fixing the part, and the machine would be ready in 3 weeks. Then I went to Pal's. A very nice man spent about 10 minutes fiddling with the parts and said, "Done. No charge." It's wonderful to find a store with honest people on site who know what they are doing. Thank you! read more

I went here today and bought a sewing machine from Casey. I had a great experience and highly recommend supporting this independent business! Casey took the time to go over all of the details about my machine, and was very patient with all of my questions! I wouldn't have received the same attention or gotten the same advice if I had purchased from online or at one of the box stores. Plus maintenance is included for 5 years! This speaks to the confidence they have in their products. Please support small businesses like these! read more

I needed my sewing machine serviced after taking it to a different OC repair shop just a couple years ago. The sewing machine mechanic at PAL's did an excellent job on my old but reliable New Home (Janome) 7500. I know this machine like the back of my hand, and it is finally sounding exactly the way it should. I really appreciate that they didn't just blow it off with a compressor and hand it back with and expensive invoice. Instead, I know they really went through the whole thing and repaired the problem I was having with the motor. PAL's will be my go-to from now on. The shop is a bit of a cluttered mess (minus 1 star for that), but the service is great. So just ignore the mess and tell them what you need. :) read more

I came into the shop after 2 calls with Hoover customer support saying there was something wrong with the vacuum. No more then 30 seconds after entering the shop, a gentleman named Pete diagnosed the problem. It was amazing how immense his knowledge was. He not only explained how the vacuum works but literally described exactly why it was breaking on how to prevent it. After all this, I tried to pay and he said he didn't do anything. This business is run on honesty and integrity. I never write reviews but this had to be shared. Thanks Pete! Not many gents like you left! Stay awesome! read more

What a fabulous family owned business! They are so friendly, when I called to enquirer about a repair or maintenance on my machine they encouraged me to come in so they could have a look. When I went in they were welcoming, quick and efficient. Their knowledge of sewing machines blew my mind as did the selection of machines they had there. They looked at my machine immediately were able to assess the issue and he even took the time to make sure it was working without issue before he had me on my way in no time. read more

Pal's the the greatest Sewing & Vacuum place you could go. They sell many different machine brands, my personal favorites are Janome and Hands Quilter. Casey has to be the nicest guy, and really knows his machines... and gives you a great deal every time... PS - I called him last week because my Janome 6600 had something strange going on in the bobbin area.. and my machine was inoperable during a class I was teaching (embarrassing, right?) - Well Casey gave me the fix-it answer right then and there, no cost, no mystery! 1st time I came here was to pick up some embroidery needles in order to test an embroidery machine I was purchasing off Craigslist. A month later we were in the market for a 2nd machine. Came back here to pick up a floor model embroidery machine for a great price. Casey is a stand up guy and has done all my maintenance on both machines. Casey has gone above and beyond to make sure I'm a happy customer. If you're in the Orange Country area and need a solid place to buy or maintain your machines, this is the place. read more
