I used Palm for my deck with cover and they did an excellent job! I will use them in the future for other jobs!

I'm not one to typically give a review but have had the strangest encounter with Palm Construction that I had to share. I found them in the Home Concepts Magazine and they had ads for both Siding and Decking which I figured was great since I was getting quotes for both and thought there might be some savings using the same company for both projects. I submitted requests online and never heard back. I should have just dropped it there but called to book an estimate. They flagged that they wanted to present to both my husband and I. I should have also walked away at that point as I make the decisions, I've quoted multiple other companies without requiring the presence of my partner, and the only other time a contractor has requested that was another company quoting a roof project that was 3x the cost of other quotes. Palm construction must have a similar business model because after a 1.5 hour estimate and the salesman asking to come inside and wash his hands for some reason their quote was double all other quotes I had received for both deck and siding. What they quoted was 25% the value of our house. It was wild. I asked the salesman to send me a quote to review to just get him out of my house and as I suspected I never heard anything and forgot about it until today. I just got a call from a random guy following up. I said I never got a quote and he said because my husband wasn't there (which he actually was just didn't want to waste time from his work day to talk to these scammers). I said again he doesn't need to be there to get a quote. The guy just kept saying why are you so upset why are you so angry and just hung up. It was so strange. I then looked around at reddit and other reviews and I 100% believe it's scam. STAY FAR AWAY! Also I work in the electronic contracts and signatures space and the sales man pulled out a paper contract saying that he's old school cause the city building commission doesn't allow people to sign contract electronically because they don't want people to scam old people. That alone feels like a scam tactic. I just hope to save someone 2 hours of your day on an estimate and the annoyance. read more

This company bombards me with spam calls at least three times a day, despite the fact that I never requested a consultation and have no intention of working with them. I've repeatedly asked them to stop calling, and each time they claim they'll add me to their "do not call" list--yet the calls persist the very next day. It's incredibly unprofessional and comes across as desperate, especially considering I don't even live in their area. Scammers! read more

These people are salesman to be sure. They talk to you like they want to get to know you but it is subversion. I don't in any way recommend this company. They prey on the elderly. Then pressure you into signing a form on behalf of the elderly person so they won't get sued. Then right away they want to commit you to something else. I have read on many of the comments that their photos are stock photos and not real photos of work they have performed. How sad. They promote these photos as work they have done. This alone is FRAUD! read more

PALM CONSTRUCTION is a SCAM company that possesses NO expertise in the services they falsely advertise. The PALM brochure does not show actual work they have done, but has stock photos of other companies's work that can be seen in computer searches. PALM advertises using the same stock photos in the local business home service magazine to solicit, it's distributed to the community thru USPS . PALM CONSTRUCTION is CA based with many complaints all along the Pacific Coast, from CA to OR to WA state, into Texas and beyond. Many negative reviews have appeared on GOOGLE during PALM's 4+ years operating; those have been removed. GOOGLE allegedly, removes negative business reviews for a charge. Some positive reviews on GOOGLE for PALM appear to be written by the PALM folk because all contain the same grammatical errors. The PALM folk I had contact with were "Ben" and Julia, They are skilled CON artists who missed NO opportunity to defraud me of $l4,000 to paint a 1,620 sq ft home & replace warped boards on a chimney with the cheapest plywood. These folk prey on the elderly, sick and uninformed. "Ben" badgered me to help him make his "quota" by signing a contract immediately. He got a bonus. He said he made the cold call visit to my home, 12-04-23, with quotes as per Angie's for windows. He told me PALM was HIS family's business; and as the OWNER he was in charge of the Austin-Dallas area. He showed me a polished brochure of work he said PALM did. However, he refused to give me names or references for work done in Austin; although later he gave me the name of a woman who danced with Ballet Austin. I was unable to contact her. Incidentally, I had told "Ben" my daughter had worked at the Ballet. As we sat on my front porch to discuss the Angie referral, ironically, a young man came up & asked if I were buying windows. He said PLEASE do NOT sign a contract until he returned the next day. It was a very odd occurance. We set an appointment for the next day at 4:30 but he didn't return. "Ben," on the other hand became very dark, lowered his head almost into his lap, very angrily began to speak extensively of how "rude" he thought the guy was. He BEGGED me not to discuss his quotes or anything else about our discussions with this guy or with anyone else. His physical demeanor became very NORMAN (Psycho) BATES-like, but I did not catch on to this ruse. Now I think I was their perfect mark; those guys were working together or competing. "Ben" quickly regrouped after his long, dark tirade & became very charming, very solicitous, asked questions about my illness, about my family, what we did, etc.; said his parents were teachers (REALLY?) too and so was his wife. We met for over 2 hours on 1st visit, & agreed to other meetings at LaMadelaine to discuss the work. He said his company was a one-stop operation, so he would give me a better price, it was so much work. He repeatedly reminded me that I was his "special client." I was being scammed. I wanted siding instead of painting, "Ben" looked at the house & said it just needed a power wash/paint and to replace warped boards on the chimney; he seemed honest. After the wash it didn't even need painting, but was done anyway. Said he had a payment plan, I wanted to pay total with a cashier's check. Said he didn't like those, preferred personal ones. Finally agreed to take a cashier's; demanded 2 payments before work began "downpayment" at $4,000 and $10,000 for materials, paint & labor. I questioned high cost, said he used high grade materials, refused to provide itemized list or estimates for costs. Would not explain what the final $7000 or $4000 down payment were for. When I confronted "Ben" with actual costs of materials & the fact that promised materials weren't used. He got very angry, intimidating & threatened. I asked for itemization for the work and materials each time, was refused bc he "(didn't) like to write things down or to itemize & his company (didn't) do that," wrote contract for the windows and painting, 1st total was $20000 for both. Since it was only about 3 weeks before Christmas I told him I didn't want to spend that much money, wait on the windows and just paint. "Ben" said he would "rework" the contract and the next day had a contract for $21000. Refused itemized costs for labor or materials, wrote down things like "down pymt," material-Hardy board, etc. cost-$21000, no windows. He took the list he made. Used post teenagers, no English, "Ben" did not speak Spanish. Said he had a professional "company crew," did not use promised materials, used cheapest plywood. Poor workmanship. I refused to give him the final $7000. I am a 76 year old woman, was & still recovering from long term hospitalization. I use a cane, oxygen, and go to rehab to regain function. I've tried thru BBB to negotiate this fraud made by "Ben" & Palm. Julia insincerely offered NDA for $6,000 or full refund w/o 1st disclosing terms of agreement. I refused. GROSS fraud! read more

I scheduled Palm construction to come out and give me a quote to replace my roof shingles with a metal roof. 2 hours before they where scheduled to arrive they called and started asking additional questions. During that call they dropped the fact that they would not be giving me a quote, ever, unless I signed a contract, as all quotes where verbal. I pushed back and asked "wait, your coming out to bid a $10k-$40k project, and your not going to give me a written quote with cost, terms and timeline?" they said no, just a verbal price. If I agreed to sign the contract then they would give me a contract to sign. I again pushed back and said I would need to have that contract/quote to review so I could compare it against the other 2-3 quotes I was getting to ensure everybody was covering the same items. They flat out said they would not do that, I could only get a written contract, to sign, not to read, after accepting the verbal quote. Um. No. A legit company gives you a written quote, with whats included, a timeframe its good for, and with their contractor license number on it. This smelled so strongly of a scam I was shocked they are still in business, and told them to cancel the appointment. I will never do business with this company for anything, ever. read more

Friendly guys, but the quote took an hour and a half, they gave us an estimate over 3x the price we received from most other flooring professionals, and said the process would take a month when ALL others quoted us 7-9 days. They also pressed us to sign on the spot immediately upon hearing the price, advising that they couldn't guarantee the price for 72 hours So we could think about it over the weekend. New roof still leaking after three trys at fixing it. The company is not retur ing my calls.

Had them come out for a bid on expoy floors for 500 sq ft. They came to me with a bid that was 3x the average for basic epoxy. Additionally when i confronted them about the price they came down (still high) but tried to push un needed upsells. Ended up going with a more transparent vendor. Mistakenly, I went on to Angi.com and asked for bids for a small backyard sod grass job and I get a call from someone who eventually identifies herself as being with Palm Construction. She has about 8 words of the project description I gave angi.com. So, I describe the small project again. Asks if someone can come by my house today. Today's not a good day. How about next week? She then asks if the house is my name and or another's name. Really, to have a discussion about the small project? Can I bring a note from my wife giving me permission to have the conversation? Seriously, that's how you, Palm Construction, woo your prospects? What charm?! Maybe angi.com is where teenagers go to play tricks on their parents. I don't know, but I'm not wasting my time with you and y'all should move on yourselves. Faced with increasing safety trip hazards in our front walkway and driveway, we identified five concrete repair companies to solicit bids. Palm Construction was not one of the five companies, but they contacted us by phone and asked for an opportunity to bid the job; and that they could be available at our home in two hours. Two hours after meeting, we signed a contract to fully replace our front walkway and a large section of our driveway; both impacted by tree roots raising the concrete. Demo began the next day, concrete poured the following day, and although delayed by rain and no work on Sunday, the final inspection was accomplished in six days after the contract was signed. A project manager was on-site or available to address any concerns during the work. Teams of demo, concrete pouring, etc., worked together quickly and efficiently. Overall we rate the ease of doing business and the final project result as excellent! Based on our experience we highly recommend Palm Construction to all. read more
