If I could give this daycare ZERO stars, I absolutely would. Parents, stay away…read more This place completely changed my view of what a daycare should be. The teachers came across as rude, impatient, and completely lacking the warmth and patience that toddlers need. It felt like they wanted quiet, easy children who wouldn't "bother" them rather than understanding that toddlers are toddlers. The classrooms were also incredibly boring and lacked the kind of engaging, stimulating environment I would expect for young children. But the way they handled my 2-year-old was the final straw. I was told that my child "hit" the teacher. After watching the camera footage myself, that description was extremely misleading. My son tried to climb onto the toy kitchen. The teacher tried to pull him down, he became frustrated, swung his hands in her direction, and then immediately ended up on the floor crying. What did the teacher do? Comfort him? Help him regulate? Redirect him calmly? No. She contacted administration to report the incident. We are talking about a TWO-YEAR-OLD who became frustrated and was crying. If a teacher is so intimidated by normal toddler behavior that her first response is to report the child rather than comfort and redirect him, I seriously question whether she should be working with toddlers. Children this age need adults who understand development and know how to handle big emotions--not adults who seem annoyed by them. The whole experience made me feel that my child was being treated like a miniature adult who was expected to behave perfectly and never be difficult. That is not what I expect from a daycare. I would not trust this daycare with my child again, and based on my experience, I would strongly encourage other parents to look elsewhere.

This facility focuses on the well-being and academic nature of your children and gives the kids a Headstart on curriculum that will prepare them for grade school. His teacher is Miss Karen and she is so kind, loving, patient, and creative. Not only does she teach the students, but she takes the time to learn your child individually, and that's a big factor for me because it lets me know that she see my child. My son is already bright however he was very reserved. He's been attending this school for a little over six or seven months now and he's doing phenomenal between the work of Miss Karen and I, he will be more than prepared for kindergarten!

The environment at DMA is nurturing, respectful, and truly centered around the individual needs of each student. We've seen our son flourish not just academically, but emotionally and socially, in ways we never expected. The educators here clearly care deeply and treat each child as a whole person, not just a number or a test score. If you're looking for a school that honors the natural curiosity and uniqueness of children, we cannot recommend Desert Montessori Academy enough.

Came to this location because years ago my family brought their children here. Not sure if things…read morechanged or maybe these things weren't apparent to my family. My child was in the infants room. In the infants room it seems like they don't do anything to interact w the children. A few times I came to pick up my son and I saw the teachers on their phone while having the children watch TV. Kids are left in a room to just play w one another. There is no set schedule or activities they do during the day. Thankfully each time that I picked up my son I always made sure to go back to the room to pick him up and not wait for them to bring him to me. Definitely had me on high alarm when they said parents weren't allowed to go back to pick up or drop off. I did make sure that I went back at least to the window of the room. Many times I got accident reports and the very last time I got an accident report they said it was because my son hit another child and they put him in a timeout by locking him up into a high chair. No child should ever be put into a "timeout chair" that locks them in one place. That's torture, my child was just barely 1, I know he didn't understand what was being done to him. Children are teachable not punishable!!! Extremely disappointed I didn't see the signs before. I think I really wanted to like this school because my family had previously gone here. Also I do not like that every time I came to pick up my son or drop him off nobody was in the front. Anybody can just walk in, how scary.
